"As monumental different as we might all think we are from other people, there will always be one sole factor that ties us all together."

"Kiara" he sounds out the word on his tongue, like it's the first time he's hearing such a name.
"I think I like Isabel better."
"Oh please." Kiara scoffs at his statement as she sees the joy in his eyes at teasing her. "It doesn't matter how you try to butter her up. She'll still hate you if I tell her to."
"Aww. Thats too bad." He fakes disappointment and she watches him through the corner of her eyes.
Kiara sit on the floor with a filled stomach feeling as good as possible in this situation. It seems the food has given her a clear mind because something occurred to her in that moment.
"How do you know?"
"Know what?"
"That I'm a princess."
She's watching him as he gets up and puts away the two bowls.
"Why do you have two?"
"What?" He answers confused.
"Plates, why do you have two? Aren't you alone?"
He turns around in and instant, seeming to be slightly angered with her. He looks at her until he develops an evil smile.
"You ask too many questions. Haven't you ever heard that curiosity killed the cat?"
"Well I guess it's good that I'm a wolf then" she throws back.
"Good one kitty."
"Don't you da-"
"Then shut up and go to bed."
She becomes quiet, now planning on doing just that seeing as none of her questions have been answered.
He looks at her and decides to answer them anyway.
"I have two plates because, I don't know. I guess because I don't have to wash one when the other gets dirty." He lies through his teeth.
The thought of having to tell her the truth triggers memories he had long buried and it angers him even more.
"And I know that you're a princess because I smelled it on you. That royal poison that you have running through your veins. It happens to be the bane of my existence so I think I have to know it when I smell it." His anger pushes him to throw one of the dishes and it slams into the wall.
It doesn't break and he's almost grateful for that. His breaths come out in short puffs and she now knows that the man who had just gave her clothes and made her food is gone.
"Just go to bed", he tries to calm himself down, "oh and don't even try to leave. I'll know if you do and trust me you'll wish that you never did."
He turns in her direction and his eyes come to life, glowing a blood red and almost instantly she's terrified.
She leans her back against the wood, trying to not let it show and keep a cool front.
She lays down on the mat and just by seeing him getting comfortable in his 'bed' makes her limbs hurt even more than they did before.
Her poor back

"Rise and shine"
"What?" Kiara awakes groggily to the cheerful voice of someone and her mind instantly thinks it's her best friend.
Her hope soars
"Come on kitty. We don't have all day for your sleeping."
She didn't even have to open her eyes now because of that name. Reality comes crashing back. It's not her best friend at all and her heart drops at the revelation.
"What do you want?"
"Come on we have to go get food."
Kiara now realizes that he's smiling down at her. Her face gives off a bored expression in response, tired of his damned split personalities.
She gets up never the less, following out the door, continuing to observe his cheery demeanor.
"What do you want to eat?"
"Why are you so... cheerful?"
Marquése completely disregards her question and continues to walk, going deeper into the forest in search for food.
He keeps a keen ear to know that she's still following him at all times.
"So you're not going to answer me?"
"I don't have to- I don't know. I just am."
"You weren't that way last night."
As soon as the words escape her mouth he whips around staring at her.
"Do you want me to be angry all the time and hurt you? Is that it?"
"N-no"
"Good. Then shut your mouth if you're not gonna tell me what you want to eat."
"Some meat would be good." She whispers to herself as they continue into the woods.
Another thought comes to her mind.
She wants to ask him but she doesn't want him to get angry again.
"What?"
"What? I didn't say anything."
"But you want to say something so say it- wait shh." Marquése holds a finger to his lips to signal her silence.
An unknowing prey was going to be their breakfast meal.
He sprints off and the man is no longer a man but a wolf. He changes mid air and chases the furry creature. Kiara watches the scene, completely mesmerized by him.
His wolf was huge and matte black, the most beautiful she has ever come across.
She has never seen a wolf change like that, hell, it wasn't even possible in the light of day.
Marquése comes back with the rabbit in his mouth, but when he approaches her she realizes that it's not one but two.
"How did you-"
She cuts herself off mid sentence when he did the unthinkable. He drops the food near her feet and changes back right before her very eyes.
"Ah! What are you doing!"
Kiara screams at him and covers her eyes, turning around to avoid the sight of his naked flesh.
"What? Haven't you ever seen a naked male before?"
"Um, I-"
"Oh. Your mate must be one wound up guy." Marquése's statement has Kiara blushing red.
"I don't have a mate, well I do, I just haven't found him yet. Due to that and the fact that I'm the princess I'm not exactly permitted to see another's naked flesh."
"Oh. Did you see anything?"
"Not really. I turned around-"
He grabs onto her hand and turns her around to face him. She screams again and he laughs at how red her face is.
She's staring right into his eyes and only now did she realize how unique his normal ones are.
Beautifully Grey. Everything about him is grey it seems.
"Why would you do this after I just explained all of that to you?"
"I don't know, because it's fun to bother you and your cheeks are all red."
"Let me go. I'm your prisoner not your source of amusement."
Her statement cuts the moment and he drops her hand. She turns around and he takes up the meat and they walk the way back.
He walks behind her until they reach the house then he goes inside to get some clothing.
When Marquése exits the house, the sight that greets him isn't one that he expected.
She's sitting on a rock, trying to skin the meats.
"What in the cosmos are you doing?"
"What?"
He brings out a knife and tosses it to her, like it was second nature to him.
She catches it.
"You need that to do the job properly."
She looks at the knife in her hands, the knife that he had just tossed to her and then her eyes rise to his.
He realizes his mistake a little too late and opps to try and talk her down.
"Hey, can I trust you with that thing?"
She rises to her feet, abandoning the task she was just focused on completing. Now realizing that she has a whole new task at hand - to escape.
"Kiara no."
With blood on her hands and escape in her thoughts she thinks to herself.
Even if she were to try and run away, she didn't know where to go because the forest is so thick.
However, she wasn't raised to be a quitter and nothing tried, nothing gained. So with that last thought on her mind she once again sprints off towards the forest line.
"Shít!"
Marquése takes off, chasing her down but she runs faster than she has ever run in her life. This may be the only chance she gets to escape again.
"Kiara!" His voice booms behind her and she picks up speed if that was even possible.
He chases her and she makes it through the lining of the forest but he catches up.
Suddenly he grabs her around the waist and they both tumble to the forest floor, hitting their heads and knocking themselves unconscious.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kiara and Marquése awake almost simultaneously; both scrambling to get up.
Marquése somehow manages to get on top of her before she gets to the knife but still she keeps fighting.
"Stop it!"
She ignores him and grasps the knife in her hand, swinging it, aiming for his throat.
In that moment Luna knows that her plans were in trouble. The two could never agree. She was planning on giving them a visit the next night but it couldn't wait, if she didn't stop this soon they would kill each other.
The knife barely misses Marquése's throat and he grabs the hand she was using to hold the knife. However, Kiara thinks fast, dropping the knife and taking it up with her other hand.
In the blink of an eye she rams it into his stomach.
"Ah!"
Time slows down as he looks into her blue eyes with disbelief.
She stabbed him.
She. Stabbed. Him
It's like the words couldn't register in his brain, but as soon as she tries to reach for the knife to do it again, Greyson takes o-ver his being. His eyes turn red and she knows it's no longer him.
She shuffles back, trying to get out from under him but with no such luck.
With the strength of his wolf, he grabs both of her hands in one of his and holds her down.
He pulls the knife out of his body and stares as the blood as it drips off it.
"How fúcking dare you!"
The knife is at her throat in the next second and she closes her eyes in surrender.
"Stop this right now!"
The voice behind them booms with such authority and power that both beings go weak.
The knife falls from his hands as he turns around and the blinding glow confirms his suspicions.
"Luna" the word leaves his lips in a whisper and he falls to his knees.
Kiara was still lying on her back, her eyes still squeezed shut.
Her body was in shock and the only thing that let them know she was still there was the streams of tears running down her face.
Luna walks over to her and caresses her cheek, "Oh my sweet child. Open your eyes."
Kiara does as she was commanded and the sight of her Goddess brings more tears to her eyes. She gets up and assumes the same position as Marquése.
"Stand." They obey.
"I am very disappointed in both of you. Are you so blinded by anger that you can't see it?"
"Luna, we-"
"There's a reason I put you here Kiara, and you Marquése it's a reason it's her.
My two sides of the moon." She sighs
"I know the anger that lies in your heart Marquése and I know you feel as if you need to let out your vengeance on her but you don't. You have to forgive them, you have to move on because this is your second and last chance."
Luna now switches her attention to Kiara.
"Kiara my sweet, don't you think it was a little odd that you couldn't find your mate? That it was this particular situation that lead you to him?"
Marquése seemed to be too shocked to even find words to speak so Kiara spoke up instead.
"Luna what are you saying?"
"You know what I'm saying. You both do."
"No you can't be saying, that-"
"We're mates."
"What? But that's impossible, it can't be. Marquése you can't be my mate, you don't feel like my mate, I would've at least smelled you. I would've felt it when we touched. You can't-"
Kiara turns around, trying to get her confirmation from Luna but she was no longer there. She vanished as soon as she led them to the truth they were both avoiding and there was no indication that she had even been there.
"What the hell is going on!" Kiara holds onto her head as the revelation dawns on her.
She couldn't believe the shocking revelation.
"Oh my Goddess this can't be happening."
"Kiara-"
"That's why I couldn't find you, because you were here all along. We are mates."
