Chapter 3 - No Escape

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"We can run, we can hide, we can lie and we can avoid as much as we want but there's no escaping life. Life happens in the most unexpected ways, at the most unexpected times and if we aren't careful we could be trapped situations that may leave us in the past forever."
The sweet chirping of birds is the sound that Kiara awakes to. As if it's the happiest of mornings but on the contrary it isn't at all.
She opens her eyes slightly and the bright beams of the morning light blind her temporarily. She blinks several times to adjust her eyes then open them fully to take in her surroundings.
What she saw in real life was just as horrifying as in her night's dreams.
A complete nightmare.
The dark green, damp moss was the first indication that her current prison was not up to shape. The boards of the small house looked more like that of a cave, reminding of its doom and dreariness.
The man she now knows as Marquése was no where to be found, and had left her when she fell asleep from the pain and exhaustion of their ordeal.
The thoughts of the journey back last night comes back to her in that moment and she grimaces.
It was the most uncomfortable thing she had ever experience. Her position and consistent fighting made it that much worst.
"Get up!"
"Leave me alone!"
Marquése bent down and grabbed her small body, flinging her over his shoulder like a barbarian.
"Put me down dammit!"
"I told you not to. There is no escaping me princess."
She ignores his words and screams at him again, "Your shoulder blades are jamming into my sides!"
"If you weren't so dammed disobedient then I wouldn't have to carry you against your will, now would I?"
"Do you take me for some kind of trophy or something? I'm a person! A damn wolf for crying out loud. Put me down before I break your damn back!"
Marquése scoffs at her words, continuing to walk and ignore her. Kiara takes this as an insult and starts fighting in his arms again but it doesn't seem to faze him at all.
When they reach back to his 'home' he walks into the house with force and the weight of both of them causes the floor boards to creek under pressure.
Marquése deposits her less than gently on her butt and turns around locking the door.
"Don't move." He growls and quickly walks off, to somewhere unknown.
She gets up shakily and goes for the door but he comes back just as fast.
"Disobedient" he hisses through his teeth
"Screw you!"
"Now now, princess that's no way to be speaking. It's rude."
He grasps her hands in a tight embrace and before she could even realize what's happening he was already tying a knot. The rope adorned her hands, then he went a step farther to tying it around a post.
"How dare you!" She snarls at him but Marquése only ignores her.
He crawls over her feet and hold them down, crouching low so she wouldn't have enough space to raise her legs and kick him.
"Now let's examine that little wound, shall we?"
He touches her forehead and Kiara hisses at the burning sensation.
"Such a baby." He mocks
"You'd think after kid napping me then tying me up you'd give me the courtesy to die from my wound in peace."
"Dramatic too. I don't want you to die and I'm sorry that I hurt you. It wasn't my intention, but in my defense you wouldn't have gotten hurt if you had listened to me"
Is he serious?
Kiara glares at him, appalled at the words that were escaping his mouth. She couldn't believe he thought she'd just stay put and be his prisoner.
He stares intensely at her until she speaks,
"I know you don't understand and you may hate me right now but trust me I hate you more and this is the least I could be doing to hurt you so be grateful."
His once jovial exterior now crumbles revealing his anger.
"Look I have no idea how you know that I'm a princess and I don't want anything to do with you. I didn't come here for trouble and I just want to go home. Please"
He just looked away and started walking away, leaving her there.
"Marquése!"
She shouted but he said nothing
She could barely dress her head and sleep last night without the headache and other pains becoming too much. Thank Goddess for wolf healing though.
Raising to her feet, she now observes her surroundings which are now bathed in the light of day. She see's no method to his madness in how he had set up this place to resemble something of a home.
There were small personal items here and there, a few articles of clothing and a straw-like padded bed to the far corner of the room.
Bed is a bit of a stretch but it's way better than what he granted her access to.
She slept on a rug on the hard ground; much to her back's protest.
She stretched and worked out all the kinks in her back now realizing that her hands are still tied.
Oh no
Kiara walks around, pulling at the ropes and trying to locate a knife to cut the strong ropes. She sighs and digs her nails at them when she is unsuccessful in her search.
Her mind absently ran on her captor and where he could be; preferable getting her some breakfast because she was starving.
As soon as the thought crosses her mind his dark and looming presence makes itself known as he steps through the door. Kiara stops and turns slightly, gulping down her fear.
Marquése stops as he sees her standing in the middle of the room, he glances down at her back with a tilted head and slightly raised brow.
"Trying to escape again?" He asks and she answers
"N-no?" She says it like it's a question and he stares more intensely.
"Turn around."
She turns and faces him with firm eyes that don't waver from his; almost in a primal challenge.
"Are you hungry?" He smiles
It's the first she had ever seen such a sight from him and now she knows that he is completely insane.
"What are you smiling about?"
"None if your business. Are you hungry?" He repeats but she shakes her head no. However, her stomach betrays her and says otherwise, voicing it's emptiness with a grumble which now causes him to look slightly angered.
He takes five menacing steps toward her and her breath hitches waiting for his next move.
He grabs her hands and start to free her,
"I don't like liars."
Then he just walks off and out the house into an unknown direction; like he's expecting her to follow him but she doesn't.
"It's either you walk on your own, or I carry you. Which will it be?" He shouts and she starts walking.
"And don't even try to run. I'll catch you, again."
They reach his desired destination shortly after and she looks around. The plot of land is surrounded by lush vegetation and plenty of fruit trees.
How can a place like this exist in a forest this dense?
Marquése proceeds to gather fruits, gracing Kiara with a small extent of his personal skills.
"Eat" he shoves the food at her when he finishes gathering them and she sees further evidence of his spilt personalities in the blink of an eye.
"I'm not hungry"
"You're lying again. What did I say about liars? Eat."
"No" she stands her ground at the audacity of this man. He really is crazy.
"I can hear your belly grumbling in displeasure. Why won't you eat?" He asks almost incredulously.
"Are you serious? You must be out of your mind if you really expect me to eat from the person holding me against my will? I'm not stupid. I'd rather starve."
"I'm not trying to hurt you, and I most certainly won't leave you to starve. Frankly, we'd be out of the situation a long time ago if you had told me what I wanted to know. So now I'm having fun with you. Eat."
With that statement he walks away from Kiara leaving her with her mouth hanging on the forest floor.
What the hell just happened?
After a while of staring at the food the hunger gets too much and she gives in. She hadn't eaten from early yesterday and she didn't see the bag she had brought with her when she came. He couldn't have done anything to the food anyways because she had just watched him pick them from the trees.
Besides, if he wanted to kill her he could've done it already.
"But no, he's playing with us" Isabel chips in with frustration.
Kiara quickly tries to consume as much of the fruits as possible because she doesn't know when she'll eat again.
"Glad to see you eating" he smiles and it throws her off.
"What is wrong with you?" She asks but he didn't stop smiling,
"Are you ready to talk now? Who sent you?"
"Do you really think if someone sent me here I would still be here, risking my life to stay around a psychopath like you? For what? I would want to go home to my family! Like I do now!"
"I see"
"What-" She started to speak but he just got up and walked off. This time she follows him, wanting to curse him out but she is a princess and that wasn't exactly appropriate.
What the heck is wrong with this man?!
Marquése leads them back to the house, letting her enter first.
"Sit"
"Why don't you want to let me go?" She shouted but the demand was met with silence.
"Why don't you want to let me go?!" She screamed at him this time.
In times like these she wishes it was a full moon so she could at least have a chance to properly kick his ass.
"Its been a full day. I have a family, I have friends and a pack to take care of. I have to go home-"
"A day is nothing compared to 20 years!"
He bursts out and she stiffens.
"You want to go home?! Fine! Then start talking right now! I want to hear which pack you come from! I want to know which family you come from and I want to know how the hell you ended up in my land and I swear to Goddess if you don't talk then you will stay here for the rest of your life! Then I'll be your family, I'll be your friend and you will never see that pack again!"
The burst leaves both of them breathless, him using up all his breath, and it knocking the breath out of her.
She sat there in shock until he had had enough. He grabbed her by the hair and pulled her up to his face and she screamed out in agony, him screaming right back.
"Speak!"
His grip was not only on her hair but now her neck. With fresh tears now streaming down Kiara's face, she finds her voice and starts speaking lightly.
"I am P-princess Kiara of the Vencer Pack, in C-chandome. M-my parents are-"
"King Alderman and Queen Ciara Valdrough. I fúcking knew it!"
"W-what?
