Something Stranger

I was so grateful for the visit from my friends they were always there for me. Especially Keke she had no idea how much of a support she was for me whenever I'd be in trouble or I wanted to make trouble she was foot and foot behind me. My only regret in our friendship is that she left me when I needed her the most. But at least she came back. It has been a week since Keith had died. I took time off to mourn his death because any slight thing reminded me of him and it would be bad for me to work in such a state of mind.

I've been able to reduce the amount of crying to the point I can now go around other people other than my best friends. I had to continue to get more money because I had an aim for it.

While I was at work I couldn't help but feel out of sorts besides losing someone I loved. The air around me was tense and hot as if someone was watching me from a distance and from the heat radiating off my body and the risen hairs on the back of my neck I knew this was a friendly person watching me.

As I brought one of my regular costumers, his tea and waffles, he looked up at me with smiling eyes which showed a hint of concern and said.

"Juily you look so tense and mortified at the same time is something wrong."

I felt like a small lump was sitting in my throat as I struggled to answer him.

"Yes...Yes, I'm, okay, I'm not feeling well that's all."

I quickly walked away before he read my body language even more, and ask me questions that I wasn't in the right state of mind to answer.

As I walked away from the customer going to the next table to take the family's order I felt somewhat at ease not having to answer or to be asked questions and I was comfortable answering.

After collecting their order I went to the kitchen to tell the chief the order while I went to another table with a little girl about seven years old and a young man about eighteen years sitting patiently.

"Can I take your order?"

The little girl had a very delightful spirit about her she seemed to don't have a care in the world as she looked at who I assumed to be her brother. He had black hair like emos, his eyebrows were as dark as his hair. His lips were thin with pink blue colour as if his lips were those of a dead person and to counteract his lips he had aqua blue hooded eyes, his lips neither his eyes portrayed the features of a jolly person he had mysterious and dangerous features.

As I observe him I tried as much as possible to don't let him know what I thought about him through my body language. The little girl with her positive attitude said.

"I'll Like to have a chocolate milkshake and some waffles".

I looked at the big brother for an answer and he just fanned me off, as I walked off heading to the kitchen I look through the window where I found an SUV in the parking lot of the diner with someone in the vehicle with glasses on.

My blood ran cold as I tried to figure out why the person was watching me.

I decided to calm down my self and look for a way to know what my next move should be. So I decided to look for the person's licences plate to my complete panic they weren't any plates. I had to calm myself down so I could give the little sweet girl her order I made the chief put an extra waffle on her plate for her brother who didn't place an order. When I returned to the table to give the little girl her order her brother wasn't there so I decided to ask the little girl where her brother was before giving her the order.

"He's in the washroom",  she answered with chocolate at both sides of her cheeks along with her cute little fingers that were all smothered in chocolate as well.

I left to go pick up the wears from the other tables, at one particular table with only a coffee cup and newspapers I found a hundred dollar bill and a piece of paper. I picked both up and headed to the table with the little girl only to find an empty table and another piece of paper.

I decided that this was getting a little too suspicious and I looked up to see if the vehicle was still there. But to my astonishment, the vehicle was out of sight.

I went to the manager and told her I needed to go home because of how I was feeling. She agreed and as soon as I had an okay I went to the locker room to took out my school bag and went straight to the washrooms. As I walked to the washrooms footsteps followed me down the walkway but when I spun around they disappeared.

I ran quickly into a vacant washroom and locked the door behind me where I thought I would be safe. As I sat on the closed toilet I could hear my heartbeat it was so loud anyone in the room could probably hear it.

After I calmed myself down I opened the first paper I found on the table,  it read.

I've considered what I would do with you I know where you work.

Nothing for you is safe.

Watch your dog

Watch your love ones

Because none of you is safe

I was paralyzed to the spot, as my grip on the piece of paper got less and lesser. My fingers were ice-cold as I felt a chill ran down my back.

Fear became a tangible, living force that crept over me like some hungry beast, immobilizing me; my brain, holding me captive.

I opened the other where I got the hundred dollar tip and it read.

You will need the money with all the damages we are going to cause.

That was the limit I needed to get out of here, where it was safe. It was minutes to six when I got out on the road the sky was twilight. As my hearing was heightened to every slight noise.

I went to a pet store to find another pitbull to make me feel saver. As I was walking back to the lonely car park I could hear footsteps getting closer and closer.

I was not frightened nor was I was afraid. What I felt was beyond such mere nouns.

When I got to my car I quickly fished out my keys out of my pocket. Trying as quickly as possible to get the keys into the socket of the door.

As I fumbled with the keys I constantly looked back to ensure that none was behind me.

I rushed into the vehicle and drove to my place with the speed meter never under 80 Km/h.

When I was at home I checked the whole house to ensure that no-one was in the house and I went to the kitchen to put the dog down so that he can get acquainted with his surroundings.

After I was finished bathing I went to my bedroom when I noticed Something Stranger... on my bed, I noticed a little eggplant with writings on it.

As soon as I finished reading the lights in my house went out my whole body ran cold as they were suddenly a lot of strange noise around me.

So I pulled my blanket over my whole body. Before I could react the approaching footsteps I felt the blunt hit of iron to my face as I was repeatedly knocked to the face a metallic taste stung the back of his mouth.

Before I could react and fight back the air was knocked out my lungs. My eyes slowly began to blur and I could hear ringing in my ears from the blunt trauma to my head. Before I knew it I was out of conscience.
