[002] you're fucked, darling
[002] you're fucked, darling
Eden knew that she needed to find something and fast.
Whatever she had stolen from Adam was beginning to go down and Eden's luck had been starting to get shitty. A part of her wondered if God was intervening, punishing her for all the sins she's committed. The thought actually makes Eden laugh out loud. It wasn't like there was anyone else around to call her crazy. She was totally on her own once more, a fitting predicament for a wicked woman like her.
At least, Eden thought she was alone.
She wasn't sure why but she had the sneaking suspicion that someone was following her. For the past couple of days, Eden could feel eyes on her. There were shadows moving around at night and she could sometimes hear a set of footsteps beside her own. Eden knew that she had been on her own for quite some time and everything she had seen and done would eventually take its toll on her mind. But Eden Reyes was not going insane.
Or so she hoped.
Despite everything that Eden felt and suspected, nothing had haopened yet. So in her mind, that meant she was just overthinking it. Eden had to be. There was no way that she was being followed. There was no around for miles on every side of her. And Eden had intended for it to be that way.
And yet, Eden was about to get a ride awakening on this particular night.
"Well, here goes my second-to-last can," Eden sighed, using a can opener she had stolen several months back to open it up so she could eat the beans inside, "You have to hurry and find something soon, Eden, or else you're fucked."
Eden figured she could continue with her original plan and keep heading straight until she found something. There was no way Eden could keep walking without seeing something forever. Eventually, she'd have to find something. And if she didn't... maybe Eden would have to finally stop surviving and give into Death's cold yet welcoming embrace.
As Eden continued to say from the can, she glanced over at the fire in front of her. For as long as she could remember, Eden loved to play with fire. A part of it had to do with her wanting to see how far she could go. But also... Eden was so used to the pain. She'd sometimes go too far and let the flames briefly touch her fingers before recoiling when the heat grew to be too much.
Eden swallowed the last of her cold beans, deciding to reach out and touch the flames once again. It was as though she was in a trance, unable to resist the familiar bad habits. When the flames touched her skin, Eden stayed a few moments before recoiling back when it got too hot. She can almost hear her dad's voice booming in her ears, telling her not to be such a fucking idiot.
"Fuck you, Dad. I'm the one that's still alive, not you. You're the fucking idiot," Eden spoke aloud.
Just then, Eden heard the unmistakable sound of twigs breaking. She knew that it was either people or another one of the living dead, but Eden knew to grab her knife either way. She wasn't about to take any chances, not when she had a couple of valuable supplies left on her. The sound of broken twigs continued and Eden stood up when she saw a figure approaching. She backed away, holding up her knife and trying to assess whether the threat was living or not.
"Hey there, lady. I just wanna talk to you," a man spoke, leading Eden to realize that her threat definitely was the living kind.
"I'm not really in the mood for talking. So why don't you leave if you know what's good for you?" Eden questioned.
"I'm afraid I can't do that," he moved even closer and Eden could see that he was tall and muscular. He even had a faint stubble on his face and dark colored hair. Even though he was bigger than her, that didn't scare Eden.
She had dealt with her fair share of big guys and she had beat them every time.
"And why's that?" Eden took another step back, trying to figure out a good time to run.
"Because I need you to pay for what you did to Adam," he responded.
Eden furrowed her brows. She couldn't remember who that was supposed to be. "Who?"
"A couple of days ago, you found my best friend standing by his truck and you tricked him into letting him in. Then you killed him without second thought and stole all his shit. You didn't even see me there, you fucking bitch," he spat.
Eden chuckles. "Ah, that Adam! I remember him. He was so... stupid. And so fucking gullible. I mean, I was a total stranger to him and he just let me in without hesitation. I almost feel bad for stabbing him so many times. But then... I don't."
He scowled. "Adam was my best friend, you bitch! You're going to pay for what you've done."
"Really?" Eden grins. "And how's that?"
She suddenly felt something hard hit the back of her head before she fell to the ground, her legs suddenly giving up on her. Using the last bit of strength she had, Eden turned to look and see who had done this to her. She saw one guy, then two, but they were blurry as Eden was slowly slipping out of consciousness from the very hard hit. Eden finally gave in when the intense ringing inside of her head was too much and decided to no longer hold on.
The last thing Eden hears before passing out is a "You're fucked, darling!" from one of the men.

When Eden finally came to, she realized that she was lying down on something hard and bumpy. No... whatever she was in kept running into bumps which woke her up. After one harsh road bump in particular, Eden bumped her head hard enough to finally come to. It was then that she opened her eyes and heard the unmistakable sound of a car driving. Eden groaned as she tried to piece together what was going on, beginning to try and get up.
"I think Sleeping Beauty has finally managed to wake up," one of the men teases, causing the other one sitting across from him to laugh.
Eden turned around to see her surroundings, greeted with a starless night sky. She then saw the two men, recognizing the first one as the guy who had been preparing to attack her before she had been knocked out. Eden could only guess that the one who hit her was the man beside him, this one having brown skin and a thicker beard than his companion.
She was in the back of some sort of truck with these men, meaning that she was being taken away to go somewhere. Immediately, Eden rose up and tried to grab her knife which was usually hidden in her boot. But she didn't have any of her weapons on her now.
"You weren't looking for your weapons, were you? They're ours now. Thanks for the generous donation," the one with the beard spoke.
"Give me my shit back!" Eden exclaimed, groaning shortly after when she felt her head pounded again.
"We earned what we took! You're lucky we didn't kill you right then and there," the first guy remarked.
"So why didn't you?" Eden raised a brow. Maybe it wasn't a smart idea to challenge the very person who had basically kidnapped her. But Eden was always pushing buttons - it was too fun for her to do. Besides, she figured that if the guy was dumb enough to fall for her tricks, she could still find a way out.
"Because Boss Man wants to decide your punishment. You killed one of us and he doesn't take that shit lightly," the one with the beard shook his head.
"Boss Man? You guys have a whole community?" Eden questioned.
She had remembered Adam mentioning a community before, but she hadn't thought too much about it. All she had cared about was killing Adam and taking his shit so she could move on to the next person. But now, Eden wondered whether or not she might have made a mistake. Never did Eden think that killing one guy would result in all of this but... Eden knew her luck had to run out sometime.
"Pretty big fucking deal too. As much as I want to kill you, it'd be more satisfying to watch him kill you instead," he continued.
"He'll have to use Lucille," Beard Guy remarked with a smirk.
"Lucille?" Eden scoffed. Who the fuck was that?
"You'll see later, sweetheart. For now, get comfortable. We're almost there," he assured her with a smile that did little to comfort her.
Eden reluctantly did so, feeling a faint headache coming about. She made sure to still put as much distance between her and the men as possible. "Who the fuck are you guys?"
"I'm Vikram, this is Xavier and the man driving is Dwight," Beard Guy introduced all of them.
"Why the fuck are you telling her that?" Xavier glared at his friend.
"What's the harm when she's going to be dying soon?" Vikram shrugged.
Eden turned around to look through the window and saw a blonde-haired man driving the truck. She then grits her teeth as she turned around to glare at the two of them. "You better hope I do die. Because if I don't, I'm gonna kill all three of you myself. And your asshole friends as well as your boss."
Xavier laughs. "Oh, I'd love to see you try, darling."
Eden felt a familiar rage bubble inside of her and she let that anger control her the moment she leapt towards Xavier, punching him right in the face as hard as she could. He groaned in pain and fell down with Eden landing on top of him when Dwight drove over another bump on the road.
Vikram tried to grab Eden to pull him off while making sure that none of them fell off the truck bed. But all Eden did was elbow him in the nose and make him stumble back. She landed one more punch right in Xavier's face before he managed to kick Eden off of him. She stumbled towards the back window and the loud noise was enough to capture Dwight's attention.
"Hey, what the fuck is going on back there?" Dwight questioned, turning around to try and see what all the commotion was all about.
"Just keep driving!" Vikram exclaimed, holding his nose at the same time.
Eden groaned as she tried to go after Vikram and Xavier again, only for Xavier to punch Eden in the face. The blow was enough to make Eden fall back, making her headache a whole lot worse than it had been before. With only a little bit of beans in her system and still recovering from being knocked out, Eden wasn't nearly as strong as she wanted to be. The anger and adrenaline was now leaving her body and she was only left with exhaustion and weakness. Her body was slowly giving out for her.
The world around her was spinning as she lied down on the truck bed, Vikram and Xavier making their way to Eden to make sure that she wasn't going to be trying any shit again. As much as Eden wanted to, her whole body was working against her now.
"If you know what's good for you, bitch, you'll stay down unless you want me to ruin that pretty face of yours," Xavier threatened.
"Fuck you," Eden breathed.
"I told you that we should have tied her up. You told me she was crazy but I didn't know she was that crazy," Vikram complained, continuing to wipe his nose. "Fuck, it hurts."
"We don't need to tie her up. I think she's learned her lesson for now," Xavier scoffed before he turned to look at Eden, spitting in her direction.
It narrowly missed her, but she still glared at Xavier anyway. Although the both of them hated her, Eden knew that Xavier hated her the most. She had killed his best friend, after all, so it wasn't as though they were going to be best friends any time soon.
As far as Eden knew, she was going to be dead by the time she reached their little community. Wherever the hell that was. Eden took a deep breath as Xavier and Vikram sat back down, realizing she needed to figure out some kind of plan if she wanted to escape. But Eden couldn't help but wonder... how the fuck was she going to get out of this one alive?
