Chapter 16

Things did not go they way Natalia planned. She thoughts after the whole fiasco they would go back to Castiel, but for her protection he wanted her to stay with the Winchesters.

What complete bullshit.

He did say it would help him a lot, which was the only reason she stayed. When the road trip was over, all three of them made it to the Bunker.

The Bunker was tiny on the outside and bigger on the inside, much like a TARDIS. It was quite extraordinary to be there and to experience it, but Natalia was too worried to care. Her mind was only focused on Castiel, and how she should not be here right now.

So when the brothers went to bed Talia stayed in the library to read the books. Picking one at random, she sat down in a chair and began to read.

The words seems to flow out of the pages as the Leviathan read. The old, yellowing pages had other hands hold them before, long ago. These stories would help so many people, save so many lives. These 26 letters could create an infinite amount of information and knowledge, and only a very few had access to the home of it. As she flipped each page, the pleasant aroma of a book met her senses. It calmed her down, made her feel at home almost. It was peaceful, to be lost in a world where the only problems where the characters and not yours. This was her only chance that Natalia felt like she could be calm and not have a single worry in the world. The minutes flew by and time was irrelevant as she read, but of course, all good things must come to an end.

Dean came into the Library noisily a few hours later. The Leviathan did not realize he was there until he slammed his duffel bag down, full of weapons. Her head shot up, not prepared for it.

"Dean?" she questioned. Her eyes took a few minutes to focus, she could only see the outline of him.

He was loading a gun as he replied. "We're leaving for our next case."

With a sigh, the Woman closed the book and stared at its cover. Dean was sliding a knife into his big when Sam finally showed up.

"What's up?" Sam asked.

"I called Cas."

Natalia shot Dean a look. "When?"

Dean ignored her and continued talking. "He said there's something going down in Missouri.

"If Castiel asked for help, then we must leave at once," Natalia said, standing up.

Sam glanced at her weirdly but spoke to Dean. "What kind of something?"

"He said he couldn't talk about it over the phone."

"Why?" Sam and Talia said at the same time.

Dean stopped loading his bag for a second, stared at the two, and then kept packing. "Because he's a weird guy, okay? He's a weird, dorky, little guy. But he happens to have an army of Angels behind him, and, even though I hate to say it, if we're gonna take a shot at Metatron, they might be useful."

The Woman glared at Dean. "Hey! Don't be so rude to Cas. He's trying the best he can."

"Shut your mouth, lover girl."

Talia bared her sharp teeth at him and hissed with her serpent tongue. "Fight me you fucker."

Sam rolled his eyes and questioned Dean about bringing the First Blade. It would most likely end up causing tragedy. After arguing for a few minutes, Dean set it down.

"No problem."

"Thank you."

After lots of yelling and a few scrapes, the boys managed to get Talia to take a shower, even though Leviathans don't need to do so, take out the braids, and put on normal clothes. If they were working a case, everyone needed do play the part.

"You know, Nat," Dean began, "if you dressed like this and not like some crazy bitch, we might of been friends."

"Go kindly fuck yourself, Dean Winchester." Talia replied back.

The trio walked up to the crime scene and took out their badges.

"Agents Spears, Aguilera, and Swift? FBI?" the sheriff questioned.

Clearly not expecting that, Sam barely let out an "uh-huh" as they put away their badges.

"Your partner said you'd be along." She held the tape up for them.

"Thank you."

Once inside, Talia surveyed the room. A few humans littered the area. The objects on the wall were shattered or crooked, as well as everything else within the place. The Woman walked over to the counter and looked down it, seeing all kinds of ice cream flavors.

Meanwhile, the boys saw Cas. "Thank you for coming."

"Spears and Aguilera?" Sam questioned.

"I've noticed your aliases are usually the names of popular musicians."

"Wow."

Cas looked behind the two. "Where is Talia?" He began to look worried, his eyes searching everywhere, trying to find the woman.

Dean rolled his eyes and pointed behind them.

Natalia was looking down at the counter and observing the ice cream. She slowly reached forward and touched the food, but immediately jumped back when her hand came in contact with the cold substance. She tilted her head and moved forward again, touching the ice cream once more. Putting a bit on her finger, she sniffed it and then put it into her mouth. Immediately after she spit it out and rubbed her mouth. One of the officers looked at her strangely.

"I'd advise you to not consume the green and black substance. It's too cold and tastes horrible." the officer just rolled her eyes and walked away.

Castiel smiled at the woman and the two brothers chucked at her first experience with mint chocolate chip ice cream.

"Talia," Cas called to her.

Her head immediately shot up and looked for the voice. Once spotting Cas, she ran over and hugged him. "Hello, Cas."

"Hello, Talia."

Dean coughed, gaining everyone's attention. Cas cleared his throat and nodded. "Right, uh, come here, take a look at this."

They all walked toward a stretcher that held a body of an adult woman. Her body was pale and her lips were blue, but the first thing you noticed are the eyes. They were burned out of her head. "Look," Cas began, "and the other bodies are the same -- burnt - out husks."

"Okay, so, what is this, some sort of mass smiting?" Dean asked.

"I don't know what this was. Never seen anything like it." Cas looked around the ice cream shoppe, as if the answer would suddenly appear. "Six humans died here...and one angel."

They all walked toward another bodybag, this one inhabiting a small girl. Even it was just a vessel, Natalia still felt remorse for the girl who once made up that body. She had her whole life ahead of her, but because of some unknown reason, it was taken from her.

"One of yours?" Sam asked, pity clear on his face.

Castiel dropped the side of the bodybag and frowned. "Was a good soldier. This attack..." He stood up and faced the trio. "I knew he wanted a war, but this... this is abhorrent, even for him."

"Who?" Asked Natalia.

Metatron

•••

The two supernatural creatures and brothers walked back into the control room. Cas carried a box full of papers and vital information involving the case.

"Commander!" The Angel, Hannah, called. Natalia clenched her fists and grit her teeth and stood next to Castiel protectively. She hated this bitch.

"Oh, it's just creepy," Dean murmured, talking about the title. Nat snorted in amusement, agreeing with Dean.

"Sam, Dean, this is Hannah. Talia, I believe you and Hannah met before."

"Damn right I know the bitch," Talia sneered.

The Angel stared at the Winchesters, a forced smile on her bitchy ass face. "The Winchesters -- I've heard so much about you."

"What can I say? Cas is a fan," Dean responded with a smirk.

Another Angel came up to them and took the box from Cas' hands. Talia glared at him, and he looked away quickly. "I-I'll start to examine this evidence."

Sam started to interrupt, but Hannah beat him to it. "Sir, this morning, Josiah wasn't at roll call."

Cas' faces broke out into concerned features as Sam said, "Uh, roll call? You hold, uh, roll call?"

"They like to hear me say their names."

Natalia snorted again while Dean commented with, "I know a couple of women like that." Talia rolled her eyes in annoyance.

"No one's seen Josiah since Ezra was murdered. We think that --" Hannah interrupted again.

"You think Josiah's the killer," Talia said with a bored tone.

A glare was set upon Hannah's face. "Well, who else?"

Someone hold me back before i beat up this motherfucker.

Seeing as she got no response, the Angel started talking again. "We searched the grounds, but he's vanished."

"Not without wings," Dean began. Sam started to set his stuff down and got comfortable as Hannah crossed her arms. "He's an Angel, but he's still got to travel like he's a human, which means walk, drive -- means he's gonna leave a trail."

"All right, what was his vessel's name?" Sam asked.

"Sean Flynn from Omaha," Cas responded.

What's an Omaha?

Sam's fingers spread out along the laptop and worked his magic. He typed a few codes in and things Natalia would never begin to understand. Seconds later, Sam turned the device around. "This the guy?"

It was a picture of a man with bright orange hair that looked sad. Cas confirmed it was him. "All right, Looks like someone just used his credit card at a Gas-N-Sip in Colorado."

"And that's how we do things in the pros," Dean said proudly.

"What's a credit card?" Natalia asked, her face scrunched up and full of confusion. Dean sighed and messed with her hair.

"It's a wonderful thing, Nat, a wonderful thing." She smiled up at the older Winchester as Cas looked at Dean strangely, mouthing the word 'Nat' quietly.

"Commander," an angel spoke up from his technological device. "I have something."

Everyone crowded around the screen, waiting to see what the 'something' was. Soon a picture showed up of a man with squinty eyes and smiling. The Angel from before spoke up again.

"Just before the explosion," and he pressed play.

"And now the moment you've all been waiting for."

Offscreen a woman said 'what?' and a girls voice screamed 'no'. The man looked up, confused. The human recording turned the device to the little girl, and the Leviathan could clearly see the Grace inside the vessel. She sat in a booth in the ice cream place before it was wrecked. A man suddenly came into view, wearing a trench coat similar to Castiel's. He opened it to reveal his chest, carved with a symbol and blood dripping down it.

"I do this for castiel!" He plunged his sword in his chest. Immediately after, a bright blue/white light engulfed him as the girl screamed.

Everyone watched in horror, but Natalia watched in interest.

The screen was bathed in the light, but then cut off right after. The man must of killed himself with the symbol and everyone in there. Everyone stared at the computer in shock.
