Shes cute. That was all Alistar could think about. Those golden eyes, her hair. Beautiful. She smiled as she looked around her 'room', the walls were white and the trim was gold, it resembled a tree and vines. She looked back him, he adverted his eyes trying not to let her see he was staring at her. He frowned looking towards her. "So anyway, you will first learn how to do things like clean and fold my laundry, dress her, however you won't have to dress me."

She hid a smile as she cocked her head looking at him. Realizing that he was flustered. She looked out the window to see the towns people at work, wealthy towns people. Outside the walls were the people of the slums, and those exiled. "Will I also be doing some shopping?"

He thought for a moment. "Yes."

She smiled. "Good, would you like to join me on my first shopping trip? Show me the markets?"

He hesitated, having not left often. "Uhm, yes. Yes I would like to do that." He followed her and smiled seeing that he would be able to lead. She realized that he was nervous. "Whats wrong?"

"I don't leave the castle very often." He replied. "Father said it isn't safe."

"You are almost the king, you should be able to decide whats safe." She said smiling. He gulped but nodded realizing she was right. He grabbed her hand, and stopped. He felt a spark, he looked to her eyes and cocked his head. They were dilated, she blushed and turned away. He stood taller and began to walk. "I will just follow you."

He smiled and threw open the doors to his room. The guards turned to look at him, their armor shining. "Sire?"

"I am going out, I need to show her the castle, I do not need protection. I know how to use a sword, and my knife. I will be fine. Just stay guarding my door please." They looked to one another, and after contemplating what he said nodded and stood back in their original position. He smiled, having thought that wasn't going to work. He smiled and looked back to her, she returned the smile. Her pale skin contrasting against the dark walls of his room.

He smiled and started walking down the hall, she followed behind him smiling. She had managed to get him to leave the walls of the castle just long enough for her to get an idea of who he was outside of his fathers protection. She had one job, and it wasn't being a handmaiden. They walked down the long halls, down a flight of spiral stairs and out the front door. She held her breath as she passed the guards. They payed her no mind.

As they walked out of the castle he took in a deep breath, grabbed a basket usually meant for flowers, handed it to her and headed towards the market. He wasn't out often, but the moment the people saw him they were jelly at his feet. Women swooned, men bowed, shop owners began to offer free items hopping to be in his good graces. He didn't want them to fear him, or try and win his heart. They were all his people and they all mattered to him.

"They all seem to worship you." Raven said as she followed close. He smiled, and nodded.

"I just wish to bring them all happiness."

She nodded and smiled, he was kind, and that was a plus.

"May I ask you a question." She ventured.

"Yes, what is it?"

"Why did you choose me? There were plenty of other women."

"You looked at me in the eyes." He responded without hesitation. "Your eyes are very pretty by the way." She looked towards a merchant in order to hide her smile. She was here on a mission, not to find love. "I also thought you looked more up to the job. It felt wrong to take some of the others, the look in their eyes told me they were not interested."

She was silent for a moment, but realized he probably wanted a reply. "Thank you."

"Of course. Now how is that basket, heavy?"

"Hardly a pound sire."

"Please call me Alistar."

"Well Alistar, have you ever left the walls?"

"No, I have thought about it however." He replied as he looked towards the high walls.

"You and I can go sometime if you would like." She offered, he looked to her. "If that would interest you."

"No, I. I like that idea. In two days?"

She thought about it for a moment, two days could give her time to learn more about the castle. "Two days sounds wonderful."

He smiled and walked her back to the castle, as he entered he saw his father coming around the corner. "Go upstairs now." He ordered, she nodded and left his side going up the stairs. As she got up she peaked to see what was wrong. The king stopped seeing his son by the door and had no guards.

"Alistar!"

Alistar stood and looked to his father. "Yes sir?"

"What the hell are you thinking, it is dangerous out there!" He grabbed him and began to drag him up the stairs, she made her way to her room, hiding. She was afraid he would recognize her. Alistar whimpered as his father tossed him onto his bed, slapped him across the face and left slamming the door and stomping away. He dropped beside his bed, his head hanging low. She opened the door and walked towards him, as she set her hand on his shoulder he waved her off.

"Ill be okay in the morning."

"You, you sure?"

"Yes I will be okay."
