"Come on now I think you need a change of scenery, Devery is going to get you a new chair."
He tilted his head up with a smile. "A new chair?"
"Yes, a new chair. Now come on." Raven took his hand and led him down a few corridors of the castle. As they continued to walk he realized they were not going outside.
"Where are we going Raven?"
"Just follow me, don't worry."
"You know, when you say don't worry that gets me worried." He looked her over feeling her grip tighten. He had never felt like this before, he was finally getting that adventure he had always wanted. He wanted to share it with Raven.
"Well I think it's time we train don't you? All great kings are ready for battle, all great kings go into battle with their warriors. Only the weak allow their people to die for them without them by their side. Does that sound good?"
"Yes actually, I have never really trained, not well at least. Why are we going this way? The training room isn't this direction."
"Oh but mine is."
"You are a mai- wait how do you know about this hallway?"
"What ever do you mean?"
"You and I have hardly left one another sides. How do you know about this place? When did you explore the castle. Ar-" He hesitated pulling his hand from hers. The strong pull caught Raven off-guard. "My father...he said there was a loose spy in the castle. Said someone dangerous had escaped.. are you.. You aren't that person right?"
"If I was what would you do about it?"
"Nothing.. all I want is the truth Raven." He said looking her up and down, she cocked her head surprised by the braveness she felt radiating off of him. "Please tell me the truth. Are you a spy? From the.."
"They didn't kill your mother Alistar." She turned and continued to walk. "Are you coming?"
"Answer me Raven."
"Yes, but it isn't to hurt you Alistar. I...I hate saying this because I don't need anyone, but I need you."
He was trying to put things together, his brain was running a million miles an hour. "What?"
She turned around quickly, fire raged in her eyes. "I.. damn it Alistar I need you." She marched up to his knocked him back into the wall. Her faces inches from his, her breath hot against his face. She was a few inches taller than him even without her heels. He stared up into her golden eyes grasping the wall. "I need you, so please- for the love of the gods I need you Alistar. I hate it..I hate tha-"
"You hate me?" He looked wounded.
She stepped back. "I could never hate you Alistar." He looked her over, his eyes wide. She turned and continued to walk. "Training Alistar."
"Why are we training?"
"We need to prove that you are more than what meets the eye. You are sweet, king, and clumsy, but you are so strong Alistar. There is more in you than you know. You are 18, young, strong, active. You need to be willing to step forward and be the king you are meant to be."
"Oh.." She continued to lead him through winding hallways some even he had never ventured down to before. "Raven... sorry I was..so mean."
"You were not mean, you were scared. Now use that fear and come with me."
He hesitated for only a few seconds, he wasn't sure what to say or do, but soon he began to walk towards her. He ran to catch up as she slipped her hand under a tapestry. He squinted, the tapestry was beautiful it depicted a women with white wings, she looked to be jumping off a cliff. "How long has this been here?"
"The room or the tapestry?"
"Both."
"Not long only a few months, you aren't down this way often are you?"
"In all honesty no. I go other places in the castle, or the garden, but this is so far from my room."
"Get out more." He laughed, she punched his arm carefully, she was restraining herself. She could have knocked him into the next century but was soft. She knew if she was right about him, who he was, he needed to be taught his strength.
He needed to learn who he was and this was going to teach him.
As they entered the hidden room Alistar stopped dead in his tracks once more, his heart began to race. He looked around the room to see training equipment, armor, weapons, and beautiful tapestries and artwork littered around the room. Each tapestry had a winged women or man flying or jumping into flight.
"Come on Alistar, we have to get you read."
"Ready for what exactly?"
"For you to become king." He nodded hesitantly taking a step inward, before he could back up Devery was behind him pushing him forward with his strength. "Ah Devery, good, glad to see you show up. Spar with me?"
Devery nodded, he dropped his chest-plate and tossed his shirt ot the floor, he looked to Alistar with a wink. Alistar flushed, he gulped as he turned to see Raven slip her floppy maid outfit off, underneath was a tighter-fit sleek outfit that allowed her to move much better. It was cropped at the stomach, her legs were only visible from the knee down. He felt his face grow even redder then it was from watching Devery.
"He has a boyfriend by the way." Raven smirked seeing his eyes darting between the two. Alistar let out a squeak covering his face with his hands. Devery's laughter filled the room, Raven smirked seeing the young prince uncomfortable.
"Ah but Raven does not."
Raven's smile turned into a pursed line as she narrowed her eyes. Alistar was too afraid to look up and see her reaction to notice. Devery smirked seeing her face during a soft shade of pink, he knew she was trying not react. Devery quickly got into a fighting stance allowing Alistar to watch.
"Now pay attention to Devery, his skills are nearly perfect, your body type is a mix of both of ours, though you are skinny. All we need to do is tone you up and you should be able to keep up." Raven directed, he nodded and watched as the two began to fight. Raven was agile, moving quickly, nearly spinning in the air. Devery however was able to disarm her knowing her moves well. He caught her left arm as she spun around him throwing her to the ground.
As she hit the mat Alistar jumped in panic thinking she was harmed, she turned to look at Devery with a smile. "Good job Dev. Now help me up."
He smirked and reached for her hand only to be thrown behind her.
"Never take your mind from the fight."
He chuckled and nodded pulling himself off the ground, Alistar's mouth hung open.
She looked so much smaller than Devery with his rippling muscles and his was considerably taller than her, by at least a foot. "How did yo-"
"She is much stronger than she looks. That frilly maids outfit doesn't show her figure well either." Devery said smacking her shoulder carefully. She stuck her tongue out at him sitting on the ground and stretching.
"Why don't you two fight for me let me see what you can do Alistar."
He gulped but nodded carefully unbuttoning his shirt. Raven watched him like a hawk her eyes never leaving him. He fumbled with them getting flustered. Raven smirked and rolled her eyes seeing his face growing hot. Soon the two men were looking at one another in a ready fighting stance.
"Fight!"
Devery quickly lunged for him throwing him off balance. He recovered after a few seconds only to be thrown over Devery's shoulder, however Devery was careful. He didn't slam him but rather lowered him to the floor carefully easily suspending his weight. Raven smiled, it was her turn.
