'Avada Kedavra!'

'Expelliarmus!'

A sudden flash of green jet erupted from the wand held between Voldemort's cold, knurly fingers that met Harry Potter's own red spell with a bang that seemed to shake the very ground in front of them. Smoke erupted around them as the patch of grass withered and died, the crowd of students and Death Eaters alike standing silently in anticipation as the two fought for dominance.

Harry could see the very moment Voldemort's body hit the ground, his snake-like eyes turning dead and unfeeling, the impact causing everyone to stare in silence for a moment, most of which was out of shock.

Cheers erupted as the crowd rejoice, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named was dead! Years of suffering could finally end without the deep uncertainty of when the fight would finally end. Others cried in sheer happiness that their beloved could finally rest in peace, knowing that their greatest enemy was dead.

But not quite.

'You have won, Potter.' A dark voice whispered in his head, last remaining spirit from Voldemort that had yet to dispersed hissing into Harry's head with a seeping sort of coldness that forced him to shudder.

'I may not have much power left, but I curse you, Harry Potter, that you will suffer the way I have. I curse that you will feel never ending terror and pain, and the ones you love will no longer stand by you, for your own being is cursed from the day you were born.'

'I curse you, Harry Potter.'

As the voice faded from his head, a dull pain began to overwhelm Harry's right eye, each millisecond seeming to inject more and more of this sensation until it felt as if a dagger was being pressed and twisted into his eye.

Harry found himself unable to scream out loud, trapped in a mist of darkness that enclosed him with every second. His body swayed as he felt himself collapsing on the ground, just as Voldemort had.

And as his vision turned to black, the cheers of happiness around him turned into screams of horror.
