Kameko's First Friend.

K A M E K O

Plip. Plop. Drip. Drop.

The rain began pouring down. How depressing.

Kameko was bored out of her mind. Having no friends had that sort of effect on people.

Shocker, right?

It wasn't like she was trying to repel her fellow classmates away, it was merely the opposite, actually. She had asked the brothers if she could make any friends but they denied immediate access to her making friendship bracelets with her peers. The only people she was allowed to talk to were the boys because they all saw her rejections and decided she was safe. She wasn't too bummed out, but what made it worse was the fact that all the other girls of the class would send her death glares and whisper harsh backlash about her.

She grew lonely and sulked as she thought of her poor bead collection she had stocked up and ready to go. She even had letter beads ready, dammit.

The bell rang and Kameko sighed, standing up to go to her next class. Taking wide and jerky strides like a penguin, she made it to her class in time. A new student caught her eye. She looked really classy, with her jet black hair that ends at her mid-back, brown eyes that you could get lost in and a tall figure. Despite her humanly features, though, Kameko couldn't help but sense that she was also a vampire.

To make a quick introduction, she sent her a peace sign and pouted. This seemed to affect her because she smirked in her direction. Before she could say anything though, the teacher walked in, so she took a seat- which was thankfully right beside the new girl.

"Class, today I will like to introduce you to a new student. Please come to the front of the class to introduce yourself properly." He spoke.

The new girl stepped forward and introduced herself, "HEY, HUMANS. PEOPLE. ALIENS. I DUNNO. PLEASE TO BE YOUR AQUAINTAINCE. MY NAME'S AIKO. NICE TO MEET 'CHA."

Everybody was shocked, including herself. Kameko liked her, she was somewhat like her personality wise, even though they looked nothing alike. She could feel the boys getting aroused as she sat back down. To start their friendship, she decided to send her a series of facial expressions translating to eating lunch together. It seemed like she understood what she meant and stuck her tongue out at her.

How cute.

Finally, she may have some meaning in her life.

-

She entered the classroom with a smile on her face and plopped down onto her seat, and she guessed that Ruki must have noticed her happiness because he walked near her and smirked. She flashed him a toothy smile and turned her attention to the board.

'Work on projects, I'm out of the room and conducting important business, totally not at McDonald's or anything'

Kameko rolled her eyes, "Lazy arsehole."

Ruki turned his attention back to the frowning girl. "Do you want to come over to my house today to work on the project?"

She raised an eyebrow, "What do we have to work on? I thought me giving you my notebook, which I want back by the way, meant that you just had to type everything".

"Well, yes, but my brothers used the computer yesterday."

"...Brothers...? Is everyone here siblings or anything? I guess their parents like making each child more than once. Nasty sh*ts."

"So...? How about it?" He asked a little louder this time.

"..Huh...? Oh! Um.. sure, but I don't know if I'm allowed to go to someone's house" She pouted.

This time, his eyebrow raised, "Are you grounded, because I know you live with the Sakamaki brothers"

Judging by the way he said the 'Sakamaki brothers' with such a strained voice confused her. Did he not like the Sakamaki household? Weirder yet, did he know they were vampires?

"They're not the fondest of each other, sweetie. I hope you realize that they're both vampire clans." A voice echoed in her head.

Kameko's eyes widened, "...Mom..?"

"..Hello?" Ruki knocked on her head.

"Hmm..? Yeah, I'll try to ask."

-

Kameko impatiently waited outside for her roomies and began kicking the curb. She huffed. Asking them to stay over at a friend's house was like getting interrogated. She finally saw six slender figures exiting the school, with their airbrushed faces. They all entered the limo and Ayato finally spoke up to break the tension in the air.

"Oi, pancake, why didn't you sit with us at lunch?" He asked. "I thought we told you not to make any human friends."

"But I didn't make any human friends" She whined, "I made a new vampire friend."

They all looked at her until Reiji slammed his book shut, "I see your not as stupid as you look"

"...Thanks. I think."

I sucked in a breath and asked the darned question, "Guys? Um... if we were still talking about the whole 'friends' thing, can I go over to a friend's house today at 5:00 pm? It's a guy, but don't worry, we just have to finish the project. I'll be right back, I swear!" She rushed and gasped for air.

Reiji looked at her, "Why do you think we will let you go over to a guy's house?"

She glared at him, "Because, I want to get a good grade for his unit. Isn't that what you wanted me to do?"

His eyes widened a little, but the glare casting off his glasses made it hard to notice. She held her breath as she waited.

5 seconds..... 10 seconds....... 15 seconds.....If he doesn't answer, I'm gonna run out of fricking air!

He finally spoke up, "..Fine. You may go to his house, as long as you come back before 9:00pm.".

Kameko stared at him. He gave a seventeen year old... a curfew..?

But nonetheless, she nodded her head as the limo halted. It was amazing how the vehicle hadn't taken off yet. Kameko raced out of the car to meet Ruki behind the school.

Her eyes scanned the empty field, until her eyes landed on another slender figure with another airbrushed face. It wasn't fair how they were products of Photoshop in real life. She waved to him and ran up to him- signaling that she could go.

He smirked at her as she ran towards him. "Caught you."

It was lucky she was an airhead.
