Chapter 33: Dabi

Todoroki climbed up the steps to their shared room above the bar. Sensei had insisted on moving places continuously until they could get the perfect hiding spot. This was apparently perfect for him, and Todoroki and Izuku had ended up in a room with two beds. The beds mostly never served their actual purpose because they tended to just pass out over whatever they were doing downstairs. This time, Kurogiri had sent all three of them packing and it isn't really wise to protest against a Nomu with a Warp Quirk who was wielding one of Stain's katanas.

Stain had grumbled a lot, but Izuku had persisted, because for some weird reason he liked the man. He was also hoping that he could teach them how to fight with knives better. Todoroki, was just focusing on making an ice dagger and a fire dagger at the same time. So far, he had managed to make a very crude version of both together. Tomura had looked at it and called it "Fire and Ice Needles." Suffice to say, he deserved every bit of Todoroki freezing his drink and consoles.

He stood in front of the mirror for a while, his eye catching his scar. Izuku came up soon after and broke him from his reverie.

"I have this marvelous idea," he began, "For a device."

Todoroki groaned and turned around.

"If it's about Quirk repressing cuffs, just break into Tartarus."

Izuku pouted.

"That's no fun. I am making these."

Todoroki snorted and sat down.

"Good luck with that. And sneaking into the Doctor's warehouse too." He stopped short, realising what Izuku was on about, "You want ME to participate in the raid?"

Izuku grinned widely and threw his arms around him.

"Yup," he said, cheerfully, oblivious to exactly how much red the other boy had gone.

"What in the ever loving heck—," Todoroki's words sounded more strangled than annoyed.

"You are coming right?" Izuku's grin grew wider if that was even possible.

"If only to prevent you from dying, yes," Todoroki rubbed his face, physically trying to get rid of the blush.

"Aww, you are so cute, Todoroki-kun," Izuku purred, looking like a Cheshire cat.

"Shaddup."

Apparently the only punishment for Summer Camp was extra training. Shinso just lay blankly in bed, even with the exhaustion, sleep just wouldn't come. The other boys passed out soon enough with all the excessive training. Aizawa and Vlad King would just play chess.

Shinso's inclusion did something good for 1-A because apparently Monoma seemed to have taken a liking to him for whatever reason. The purple haired boy just looked dead inside as usual. Aizawa was sort of glad that Mic wasn't here to start up on, "Shinso looks so much like you."

Tomura pinched the bridge of his nose as he viewed the new recruits with distaste. Himiko Toga apparently had come here because she had a crush on Stain, and Dabi had come here because he respected Stain's ideals. (And another family reason).

The man himself was rather busy trying to keep Toga off himself.

"See what I meant?" Izuku spoke cheerfully as he offered his hand to shake.

"I do," Tomura grumbled, even if he wasn't fond of them at the moment and simply wished to disintegrate Stain and his bunch of followers.

Todoroki came down, yawning.

Dabi looked at him in immense shock.

He had heard the rumors, of course, but he wouldn't have believed it if he hadn't seen it for himself.

"Shoto?"

Todoroki's head snapped up, his eyes narrowing. No one really called him Shoto.

Dabi looked at him blankly, carding a hand through his own messy hair.

".....I mean, I had heard about it alright, but it's a relief to see that both of the sons that Endeavor had claimed to be dead are actually alive."

Todoroki froze.

"......are you—, are you Touya Todoroki?"

"Well, I WAS, anyways," Dabi said, grumbling.

The entire league had frozen, some to see the unfolding drama and others (Izuku and Tomura) because they were actually worried.

Todoroki took a few step forwards to actually look at time.

"I—, what—," he couldn't really find the words.

Dabi sighed, lighting a small flame, "My story would make a best seller if it was ever written."

Todoroki couldn't believe his eyes. He had been very little when Natsu had snapped at Endeavor and accused him of killing Touya. He had blurred memories of the eldest of the siblings, and lots of blue flame. Suddenly feeling dizzy, he took a step back.

"Endeavor said......he said that your body couldn't take the amount of heat....and that you weren't that resistant to heat....that—"

"I know," his voice was grave when he spoke, "These blue flames are extremely hot. It's like burning myself from the inside out, which pretty much explains the staples, I guess."

Izuku had perched his head on Tomura's shoulder out of habit. Todoroki was shaking. He didn't talk much of his family, but he had once said that after they had managed to put Endeavor to rest, he wished to get his mother out of the mental institution.

"I—," suddenly overcome, he just hugged Dabi, who stood uncomfortably there until he pulled away. Todoroki wiped a tear and chuckled.

"That old geyser would get a heart attack when he learns of this."
