Y/N POV

I was walking through the ruined streets of the city that had been more than devastated by Edwin Black's servants who, in the original timeline I came from were some of my closest friends, were turned his vampire servants and playthings. By this point, with the constant reincarnations into alternate realities, I have grown jaded to everything but I foolishly held onto hope that this timeline would be a happy one... I quickly realized that wasn't the case and after killing a Grim Reaper/Shinigami, I took their scythe as my own since I felt it fit my character perfectly, especially with my morbid sense of humor, the one thing I've been able to hold onto in terms of my original life. Aimlessly wandering the ruined streets, I sensed a human male rushing towards me with a metal pipe. Without a second thought, I knocked the pipe out of his hands, causing it to crash to the ground loudly.

I then swung my scythe at the man's legs, forcing him to his knees but I quickly unsheathed my Taimanin sword that was gifted to me by my original timeline's Asagi and decapitated him. As his head fell to the ground and his body hit the ground with a "Thud," I heard a woman cry out in despair and anger. Looking at her, I saw that she was a vampire. I then saw that she had a little girl, no doubt her daughter, which I quickly put two and two together. I had just killed her husband, who attacked me out of fear that I'd kill his family... I suppose he was right to believe so.

Vampire Mom: You bastard... You killed him!

Y/N: He attacked first.

Vampire Mom: He didn't deserve to die! He was a loving husband! He was trying to protect us from you, you monster!

Y/N: He shouldn't have attacked me. Not that it matters... *Looks around* Look at the world around us. It's reached its end. There's nothing left for you or your daughter in this life. *Starts walking towards her, preparing his scythe* Memento Mori. You must accept the fact, be freed from this nightmare...

Child: *Crying* M-Mommy! I'm scared!

Vampire Mom: *Hugs her daughter tightly* Stay away from us! I won't let you kill us!

Y/N: Just close your eyes...*Raises scythe* it'll be over faster than you can imagine.

Child: *Sobbing* Mommy! Please sa-

I slashed the two in half with my scythe with no expression. I've grown numb to killing. In the end, I'm doing them a favor instead of letting them starve to death in this forsaken timeline.

Y/N: Don't fear demise... Be at peace. Rest forevermore with your family. Cherish it. What I wouldn't give up to be in your place...

???: You really have become a shell of your former self... I can't even call you human anymore. You cut down a defenseless mother and her daughter after killing their spouse and father... What happened to you...

I turned around and saw Ingrid, Edwin Black's right hand woman.

Y/N: Why does it matter if you can consider me human or not? You're not naive. You know who's responsible for this world's end. *Flicks the blood off his scythe* And besides. It doesn't matter, nothing ever does in the end. I've witnessed the end of the world far too many times in far too many timelines. There's no happy ending for any of us, and I don't even get an ending. I die, I wake up in another timeline. I've tried to make meaning of my life, but there's nothing here for me.

Ingrid: *Stares at Y/N before speaking* Do you really expect me to believe that?

Y/N: No. That's why I don't intend on convincing you. Especially when you'll die like everyone else in this world. Don't bother trying to stop me. Do yourself a favor and take your life with your own sword.

I tried to walk past Ingrid, but she quickly slashed her sword at me so I jumped back and just stared at her. I then sighed.

Ingrid: ... I gotta try...

Y/N: I figured you'd say that... *GIF below*

Ingrid then rushed me with her sword but I dodged her sword and swung my scythe at her, barely missing her neck. Without wasting a second, I swung again and again but I either missed or had the blade parried. Undeterred, I swung again and managed to cut Ingrid's cheek, making her growl in pain. In retaliation, Ingrid tried to stab me with her sword but I sidestepped before kicking her in the back, sending her to the ground on her stomach. I then swung my scythe down but she rolled out of the way and slashed my chest as I pulled the scythe blade of the ground. Now on the attack, Ingrid swung her sword at me at lightning quick speeds but I blocked her attacks to the best of my ability. The moment, she made a mistake, I grabbed her arm and slammed my knee into her stomach before slashing her and jumping back.

Y/N: *GIF below* Black has condemned this timeline. Why keep fighting, Ingrid? You meant nothing to him and you know it. You're wasting your time and mine.

Ingrid only looked down and growled before shaking her head. I knew she had  forced herself to acknowledge the truth behind my words but she still wasn't going to back down. Without wasting more time, she jumped up and slashed at me with her sword but I deflected it with my blade. Eventually, she gave into her frustrations and began to make mistakes, leaving herself vulnerable so I waited until the perfect moment and once she slipped up, I cut off her arm, making her scream out in pain

Ingrid: F-FUCK!

Y/N: Death... is the enteral paradise... That paradise may be unreachable for me... *GIF below* Savor it for me...

I wasted no time decapitating her, causing her to fall to the ground dead. As her head hit the ground and rolled off, I let out a short sigh. I then sensed a vampire charging straight at me and when I saw Asagi, my eyes grew dull and I slashed her back.

Asagi: *Growls* How dare you attack my body! This body was made for Lord Black's Pleasure!

Y/N: ...

Asagai: Nothing to say? Fine then!

Asagi immediately charged towards me but I slashed her with the Burial Blade before switching it back to its scythe form. As we kept fighting, I eventually had to resort to the sword my world's Asagi gave me and I slammed the hilt of the sword into her head, which knocked her to the ground.

As I readied my sword that my Asagi of gave me and my scythe that I took from a reaper I killed, Asagi let out a groan of pain but then looked around saw that she had been changed and had become a vampire by Edwin

VA: *Crying and muttering in absolute terror* N-No... w-why... Oh god...

I stood there silent as she began to mutter to herself before breaking down into tears as she probably forced herself to process the horrific possibilities of her actions as Edwin's plaything.

VA: Oh God! W-What if he made me k-kill Y/N?! No no no! Please God, tell me he's still alive!

I stared at her, a part of me wanted to console her and comfort her but the memories of previous lives of watching her get raped, murdered, backstabbing me, cheating on me, and more, I easily reminded myself of the most likely consequence of getting close to anyone and began to walk towards her. Asagi immediately looked up and her eyes widened and she began to cry tears of relief and gratitude to see me in front of her.

VA: You're still alive, Y/N! I-I'm so happy!

Asagi jumped to her feet and ran over to me to hug me but I pushed her back forcefully, causing her to stumble back and fall on her ass.

VA: *Scared and desperate* Y-Y/N? W-What's wrong? I-Is it because I'm a vampire now?! I-I promise I can control myself! I won't hurt anyone! N-Not anymore! I can think clearly so p-please! Don't leave me alone in this w-world.

Asagi began to sob as she pleaded with me but I couldn't bring myself to change my mind

Y/N: *Devoid of any emotion* It doesn't matter. It's the same damn scenario. It always comes down to me having to clean up after these sorts of messes... Tonight, The end of all creation will be unleashed again and again and again. *looks Asagi in the eyes, with lifeless eyes* What's one more dead Asagi Igawa?

I lunged towards her with every intent to kill her. Instinctually, Asagi protected herself by parrying my attack.

VA: *Terrified* Y-Y/N please stop! I don't want to fight you! Please we can fix this! I kn-know we can!

Asagi desperately spoke with fear in her voice. She quickly became exhausted from constant flurry of sword strikes and scythe strikes. I then kicked her in the kneecap, making her yelp and cry out in pain as she collapsed to the ground.

VA: PLEASE Y/N! D-DON'T DO THIS! Y-YOU THAT WASN'T ME! H-HE WAS CONTROLLING ME!

Asagi cried out for mercy but I ignored her and pierced her stomach by thrusting the very Katana the original Asagi gave me through her back and due to its length, Asagi was pinned to the ground.

VA: Y-Y.../N. P-Please don't... I'm sorry this happened... I should've been more cautious about that mission but please... let's move past this a-and fix the issue Edwin caused...No matter what had happened, y-you know my heart and soul belong to you. I love you with everything I have... s-so please...

I stayed silent as I raised my scythe into the air. Asagi began to cry again but she came to the soul crushing understanding that no matter what she said, even though it was genuine, she wasn't going to be able to change my mind. As a result, she spoke one last time.

VA: Y/N..? S-Since you going to end my life, can I p-please hear you tell me that you love me? T-That even after everything that's happened and that I've done... That you never stopped loving me... P-Please...

Y/N: ... *GIF below*

I Stared at her corpse before trying to speak... but I couldn't bring myself to say anything. Not after everything I had gone through. Understanding that when I die in this world, I'd just be forced into another reincarnation, I pulled out a service revolver out of a dead cop's hand before cocking the hammer back and putting it to my own head... pulling the trigger, finally accepting that I'd never be happy and would only exist to suffer constant desolation, endless deaths, and unwanted reincarnations.

As his body fell to the ground, his head rested in Asagi's lap; a morbid recreation of one of their favorite and happiest moments of their relationship.
