Chapter 2. A Trip to the Beach

I had to hurry. I slipped on my teal bikini, grabbed my hot pink beach bag, and swiftly put my blue flip-flops on my pedicured feet. I smiled as I looked at my teal fingernails and toenails. I flew out the door and leapt into the car.

Time went by in an instant. We were at the beach. I smiled and grabbed my beach bag. After shoving my flip-flops inside, I checked my bag. It had the necessary things: waterproof-cased Nokia Lumia 928, waterproof camera, a blue towel with wave imprints, sunscreen, and the remote. I grasped the hot pink remote which matched my beach bag and pressed the button that said, "Bracelet". Once I pressed it, my beach bag turned into a bracelet. The Perks of Living in a Rich Family: Having things that can change your beach bag into a bracelet! I slipped it on with ease. There was a place to set the remote in, so I set the remote into the metal case. Instantly, the remote shrunk. A red button appeared next to it. Then, if I ever needed to get out the remote, I'd just have to press a button!

I dove into the small waves that appeared on the calm, blue surface. I swam through the water. I felt at peace, and could see everything clearly. No one understands that about me. The fact that I can see clearly on land and beneath the water perplexes many people. They also don't know why I feel at peace whenever I swim. Personally, I think that I'm a mermaid. But so does every other young girl in the world. I happen to be 14 and am obsessed with mermaids! Yeah...

I continued my swim. After a while, I saw a waterfall. It was beautiful! Sparkling water spilled out from between two rocks. I noticed that there was a cave behind the waterfall. I pressed the flip-flop charm button on the bracelet and watched them appear before me. I slipped them on. Then, I walked out of the water and towards the waterfall. I slowly crept through the sheet of pouring water and found myself in a lit-up cave. A marble pedestal sat in the middle. A strange blue cup was perched on top of it. I peered into the cup and only saw a clear, jelly-like substance. I picked up the cup and sipped the weird mixture.

Once the cup was empty, I set it back onto the pedestal. I stuck my flip-flops into the case and watched them turn into a charm once again. I sighed, taking one last look at the waterfall. I leapt into the water and swam swiftly to shore. However, I didn't notice the tiny scales appearing on my legs.
