Chapter 5: Is a new friend joining the group? Or is Lucy going to die?

Kylo and Lucy walked further and further away from Lillian. Lucy looked up at the sun and saw it was close to about noon. They continued walking, but suddenly the ground started rumbling.

Cracks appeared as if there was an earthquake. And in front of them, crawling up from the earth, was a big brown dragon. It was certainly bigger than the air dragon from before. It's body was looked like it was made of wood and it had thick sticks as horns with leafs on here and there all around the body.

It's blue eyes was staring at Kylo and completely ignoring Lucy.

"Lucy go on, this one is mine." Kylo looked at Lucy, and she already understood. He wanted to do this, now it's his turn to show his worth.

"Mmm. Be careful."

"I will."

As Lucy walked on it began to feel warmer. 'Why is it so warm? It's almost afternoon'. She quickly found out why. WHen she stepped into the clearing she saw a beautiful red dragon, it was big, but not as big as the earth dragon. It's underbelly was beige and claws and the spikes on the wings were black. The inside wings were pink as well as the spikes, the ones that you typically find on water dragons, the ones with no space in between.

It looked at her with it's black eyes. And it spoke alongside Lucy.

"YOU!"

Lucy jaw almost hit the forest floor. Before her stood the dragon that saved her in her dream.

"Wait you can speak?" Lucy asked, confusion aswell as shock written all over her face.

"Of course I can speak, dragons aren't just animals like a wolf or a beaver, we are intelligent, well most of us."

Lucy's mind was elsewhere as soon as the dragon had said the word beaver, she understood wolf, but why a beaver? That's the most random animal she had ever heard. But then she decided to speak.

"Wait. Why aren't you attacking me like all the other dragons me and my friends met?"

"Well, they attacked because they were afraid of humans, aswell as angry at them, but I like humans." Lucy looked at the drago . That was the one thing she didn't expect.

"Why do you like humans, and why did you save me?" Lucy asked. She had waited for an answer and now she was talking directly to the dragon that helped her.

"I think that we dragons didn't get to know the humans well and maybe we could be friends.. but the rest didn't like that idea, and now everyone hates me. And well, I saw you about to get attacked and immedeatly wanted to save you, don't know why though."

Even though it just told her that, Lucy still had a hard time understanding it.

"Hey you!" Lucy looked up and saw the dragon looking at her, had it talked to her while she was thinking?

"Yeah?"

"I like you, will you be my friend?" Again she looked the dragon right in th eye. Friends with a dragon? Well it wouldn't hurt to be it's friend.

"Sure!"

"Will you be my master aswell? I saw you in my dream and I'm bored so why not. It could be fun!"

"Master? What do you mean with master?"

"You don't know? Don't you go to school in the buildings almost next to our lands?" Lucy shook her head in a no. "Well a master means you own me I guess, uh! Like a dog and a human I think."

"Why do you want me as your master?" Lucy asked, pointing at herself as she spoke. The dragon looked at her with those black eyes almost pleading. "Fine! I'll be your master!"

The dragon looked at her and smiled? How can a dragon smile? The canines glimting in the light of the setting sun. Wait! Had it already been that long?

"Master it's getting dark, get some sleep, I'll guard you."

"Thanks I guess, but please, wake me sometime during the night, you need sleep too. Oh! And you don't have to call me master, please call me Lucy."

"Okay Luce." Lucy laid down next to a tree and the dragon quickly got some sticks and made a campfire. Not long after Lucy realised what the dragon had actually said. Luce. That sounded great.

Some hours after Lucy had fallen asleep, she was waken by the dragon who were nudging her with it's snout.

"Luce, it's time to wake up." Lucy slowly opened her eyes and saw that the sun was already high up in the sky.

"Why didn't you wake me?"

"You were sleeping so peacefully, I honestly couldn't just wake you." It raised his head and looked at the sky.

"Fine, but remember to think about yourself too. I'm sure dragons need sleep aswell. And now that we talk about needs, I'm getting pretty hungry, what about you? uh... I didn't quite get your name or your gender to be honest." Lucy looked down in shame, she got a new friend and didn't even know the name or gender but she's pretty sure it's a boy.

"Oh haha, guess I forgot. I have a dragon name but humans can't pronounce or talk dragon, so masters usually give their dragons a name. And by the way, I'm a male."

"So humans name dragons huh? Well, your a fire dragon, and your red and-" she touched the dragon's scales, they were so warm. "your pretty hot. I got it! What about Natsu, it means summer in japanese?"

"I like it, Natsu, that's my name now! Master? Are you still hungry? I can get some food for you and then we can fly where ever you want." Lucy looked up at him again.

"I guess I am kinda hungry, but can we go back to the school for now? And-.. Wait, did you say fly!" Lucy looked schocked, she couldn't even imagine how it must feel to fly and she is kinda scared.

"Yeah sure Luce, get on my back." Lucy walked over to Natsu's front leg. He laid down on this grassy forest ground. She jumped onto Natsu's back and it was like she was meant to sit there, it was so comfy and there were no spikes. They went down his head and neck and then stopped. Behind her it continued from the back and all the way down his tail where it ended out in a flame like spike, it looked so fluffy! It's funny how she didn't realise that before.

"So to the human lands then?" Natsu asked.

"Yeah! Let's go!" Lucy hold onto his spikes as he started running and then took off. Flying in the air with him was actually really relaxing, she wasn't even afraid of falling knowing he would catch her. She trusted him. He was her friend.

Under her, she could feel Natsu's muscles working and she could see the flexible wings moving. It was something beautiful. She could feel teh widn in her hair, and the rush it was giving her to fly with Natsu. She was sure, she would never forget this. She couldn't even stop the smile taht found it's way onto her face. She loved this feeling, this sensation of being one with Natsu.

But Lucy never stopped wondering if Kylo and Lillian tamed a dragon themselves. Or.. If something worse happened.
