The Great Dragon War

Hey, guys! this is a story I wrote in year 6! I thought I would show you guys it (Plz don't say mean/hurtful comments about it because this took me ages to write!) I DO NOT have anything against England it is just the plot of the story!

A long time ago, on top of a mountain, blanketed in mist, was a castle, Bodelwydden castle. Bodelwydden castle was a rich castle that bordered England. The castle was protected by a mighty beast. That mighty beast was a dragon. However, this particular dragon was not what you expected.

Bodelwydden was helping out the village using his fiery breath to make some bread. This dragon's eyes burned like furnaces, he smelt like sulphur and smoke and embers gracefully floated around his three horns. This four-legged monster thought something was wrong. The dragon as big as a small hill sensed danger in the air around him. His whip-like tail slid along behind him as he went to investigate. Bodelwydden saw a glimpse of what looked like a green tail. He moved menacingly towards his prey. Carefully Bodelwydden hid out of sight.

The tail belonged to a monster of a dragon. However, this dragon was from England. All dragons from England are merciless, blood-thirsty, greedy creatures. This one was the worst dragon to send to Wales because there were thorns lining his spine, his pupilless eyes were like a black abyss and slimy moss covered the beast's neck, body and tail. Disgustingly he reaked of wet air, withering leaves and garlic. His name was Llyr. Llyr's neck towered over the trees in the forest but he was heading for Bodelwydden castle.

Bodelwydden knew what he had to do. Sadly he knew Llyr's merciless soul wouldn't let a soul live. Bodelydden crept up behind Llyr and gushes of fire came rushing out his mouth. Llyr cried in pain however it did not affect him very much. He turned around slowly. A few seconds later he slammed his thorny tail on the hard ground creating a miniature earthquake telling Bodlewydden he was ready to fight. Bodlewydden jumped up in the air and spread out his wings to symbolise he was ready.

The battle started. Immediately, the dragons flew up in the air. Llyr's bony wings brought him up high above the clouds. Bodelwydden's bat-like wings followed the green brute. Llyr was about 100 times bigger than Bodelwydden and this was a good advantage for the small dragon. Bodelwydden flew underneath Llyr to confuse him and bit his tail with volcanic magma brewing in his gaping jaws. A terrible shriek of pain filled the air. A vicious spirit now hid in Bodelwydden's glowing red eyes. Llyr flung Bodelwydden to the other end of the forest with his magnificent strength. the terrifying beast carried on with his treck to Bodelwydden castle. Bodelwydden felt weak but knew the lives of his village and friends were at risk, so he got to his feet and flew as fast as he could to save their lives. He reached the dragon and at full speed flew right into his wings whilst breathing steaming fire. Llyr fell to the ground with great force.

Llyr gave up and surrendered. The king was pleased to hear that Bodelwydden had defeated the evil English dragon. Bodelwydden was decided to be put on the welsh flag as a token of their thanks. The villagers put Bodelwydden in the middle with white at the top to show the battle taken place high above the clouds and green at the bottom to symbolise the evil green dragon.

That is the story of why we have a red dragon on the welsh flag (Well my version anyway).

I challenge some people to upload an old story they wrote:
