Happy Birthday electricsparkz  aka Kris!!! 🎈🎈🎈🎈 hope you have fun today, and have a wonderful birthday!!! So I wanted to write something for you.. I put it here instead of in the PIL book, but it's from Russell's point of view, and has the crew from the PIL and everything.. Anyway.. Lol Happy Birthday!!

( Russell's POV)

It was finally Kris's birthday, and I was slightly nervous, hoping she would like everything that I had planned. I had drafted the guy's help for this one, kinda unsure on what I wanted to do for her. I knew I wanted it to be special, for she meant a lot to me, but I didn't know if she would like anything I wanted to do for her.

Nate had offered to make a cake for her, which I appreciated, because I wasn't that good at the whole baking thing. Eduardo even agreed to take us to an island, that had a nice beach on it, though we all just made it seem like we were just going to stop at a port, for I was hoping to surprise her. I had a few more things planned, that I was nervous about.. I had some stuff planned for just us, and I just hoped she liked them.

"Hey, we're almost there. You should get ready and have Kris get ready too." Eduardo says, quietly pulling me aside, letting me know we were close to the island.

I nod."Thanks Ed." I say, and he nods, before walking off, back towards the top deck.

I take a deep breath, before heading to our room, as I go to tell her to get ready. It was ridiculous how nervous I was, but I was afraid I would screw up. I really cared for her, and I wanted to do something special for her, without messing it up.

I finally reach our room, and I find her getting ready, thinking we're just stopping at the port for supplies. "Hey, you should wear a bathing suit underneath, or bring it with." I say, blushing slightly as I realize that might have sounded weird.

She smiles at me, laughing."Uh okay.... Why's that?" She ask, mischief in her hazel eyes as she teases me.

"I just Uh.. We're going somewhere that has a nice beach, so I thought it would be fun to go..." I trail off, scratching the back of my neck nervously.

"This wouldn't have something to do with it being my birthday now would it?" She asks, playfully nudging me in the side like she always does, laughing. Damn she's beautiful.

"Alright.. Maybe it does.." I admit sheepishly, dammit she figured it out... Though she doesn't know about the rest..

"Really? Thanks Russ." She says excitedly, as she throws her arms around me, hugging me in her excitement.

"Yea well.. Wanted to do somethin for ya.." I say quietly, as I gently kiss the top of her head, before she pulls away. "Anyway you should go ahead an get ready" I add, gesturing for her to change.

She raises an eyebrow at me, looking from me to the door, and back again. I laugh, knowing she was hinting at me to leave the room while she changes. I actually had every intention of leaving the room, but I was teasing her, seeing how she would react. "Well come on then." I add, teasing her. She narrows her eyes at me, before she burst out laughing, and starts shoving me towards the door.

"Out ya damn pervert!" She yells, as she pushes me, and I chuckle. "We already have Captain, we don't need another pervert." She adds, as she quickly shuts the door in my face.

"Hey! Don't compare me to Captain! I am nowhere near that bad!" I yell, as I wait outside our room. I can hear her laughing through the door, and I smile. I'd never say it, because it's sappy as hell, but I love the sound of her laugh, and seeing her smile.

I head to the kitchen, to go see Nate, to check on a few things while she changes. I reach the kitchen, and he looks up, giving me a small smile. "Don't worry, she will love everything ya have planned." He says, as he squeezes my shoulder, trying to reassure me. "Chocolate cake is ready for later, and I have that thing ya asked me to pick up for ya. Ya did good by the way, I'm sure she'll love it, especially because you picked it out for her." He adds, before handing me a small box.

It was only part of my present for her, something I had already picked out for her, but I had Nate pick it up, so she wouldn't see it. "Thanks. Yea, I hope so." I say, putting the small box in my pocket.

"She will Russ, don't worry. We can all tell how much she means to ya, I'm sure she can see it too." He says, and I nod. "Anyway, we should all go get ready, see ya in a bit." He adds, before leaving the kitchen.

I leave too, heading to the deck to go wait for everyone. Almost everyone was on deck, except for a couple of them. After a few more minutes, everyone is waiting, and Kris comes out to the deck last. "Happy Birthday Kris!!!" The crew yells, and Kris smiles at them all, as the girls all run up, swarming her, they all take turns hugging her and wishing her a good birthday.

             She looks happy surrounded by the girls, all of them chatting, smiling, and laughing. They were all close. Granted, the entire crew was close, like a family, but the girls always seemed to have a special bond, all of them close, and there for each other. I was glad they were there for her, for even though she never talked about her past much, I got the feeling that there was some sadness in it, and I was glad that she had them, and that hopefully one day, she would share her story with us, when she was ready.

          She was strong though, I couldn't deny that. It was one of the things I loved about her, and I hope one day she would trust me enough to share her past with me, and let me be there for her.

          After another ten minutes, we finally reached the beach, docking more towards a secluded area of the island. There was more on the island, but we were holding the party on one of the lesser populated beaches.

           "You up for a swim?" She asks, glancing back at me, as she already starts running towards the ocean. I chase after her, following her out into the sea, when she suddenly dives underwater, and I lose track of her. I look around, seeing some of the other crew in the water, but not her.

        "Where'd she go?" I mutter, looking around. I see everyone else playing in the ocean, well almost everyone. Chris and Luna splash each other in the ocean not that far from me, laughing. I see Thomas and Allison building a sand castle together, chatting happily. I watch Morgan toss Cecilia into the ocean, laughing, as she tries to splash him once she comes up from the water. I see Penelope trying to drag Ed into the ocean, but he resist slightly. I see Arabella stay on the beach with Nathan, probably because he can't really swim.

          I see everyone but Kris, when I suddenly feel my legs get pulled out from underneath me, as I fall underwater.

        I come up spitting out water, to the sound of Kris laughing, as she pushes her wet hair out of her face. "Oh you're gonna get it!" I yell, as I start to chase her in the water, splashing her. She splashes me back, and I finally catch her, grabbing her by the waist, as I dunk her underwater, before pulling her up again.

            She tries to wiggle her way out of my hold, but I grip her tighter, before lifting her up, and bringing my lips to hers, in a kiss. She kisses me back, and we hear whistles and cheering, letting us know that the crew was watching.

          She pulls away, a slight blush tinting her cheeks, as she glances over at the rest of the crew. "Alright enough dammit!" She yells at them, a smile tugging at her lips.

            I put her down, and we all play on the beach most of the day, the crew all chasing each other and splashing each other with water, along with a couple games of chicken, which is what finally got Ed to come into the water, as he put Penelope on his shoulders while they played against Morgan and Cecilia. Thomas and Allison played against Chris and Luna, laughing as they tried to push each other off of the other's teammates shoulders. We convinced Nate to come in, more towards the shallow part of the ocean, so me and Kris played against Nathan and Arabella. We all had fun, switching opponents, and played on the beach for hours.

             "Hey there's somewhere I wanted to take ya." I tell Kris, pulling her aside, after we all head back to the beach to dry off.

              "Where to?" She ask, looking curious, and I shake my head, as I grab her hand, and start leading her towards the inland of the island.

                "It's a surprise." I add, as we walk. We finally reach the town on the island, the more populated area. There were many different types of shops, but there was a place I already had in mind, and I hope she would be okay with it.. It was one part of her present, besides the small box I was carrying in my pocket.

           We reach the shop, and she stops suddenly, looking from me, to the shop, and back again. "A tattoo shop?" She asks, raising an eyebrow at me in question.

             I run a hand back through my hair nervously, before answering."Yea... We don't have to go if you don't want to, but I thought if you wanted one, I could... Ya know... I wanted to get ya one... Thought it'd be a fun present of sorts, ya can pick out any one ya want... Or if you want to go do something else..." I trail off nervously, second guessing if it was a good idea.

She grins at me."It's great, thanks" she exclaims, giving me a quick peck on the cheek, before tugging me along into the shop. "It's definitely different, I've never had anyone offer to take me for a tattoo for my birthday." She adds, laughing.

I smile watching her, as she looks around the shop, before finally picking a tattoo. She picks a slightly feminine Phoenix, with a few flowers around it. It was kinda big, but she was getting it on her back, slightly below her shoulder. I watched as she got it. It suited her I think, a Phoenix. The bird that rises from the ashes, flying again.

Though there were some things I still didn't know, I felt like it represented her in a way. She was strong, and seemed to overcome most things thrown her way. Yes, the Phoenix suited her.

It was slightly feminine, with flowers and swirls surrounding it. It was beautiful, just like she was.

"Alright, now you next." She says, her eyes dancing with excitement as she tugs me over, after she finished getting hers done.

"Woah wait what? We just came for you, and I wouldn't know what to.." I trail off, looking at all the tattoos..

"Aw come on, it'll be fun getting one together." She pleads, and once she turns her beautiful hazel eyes on me, that's it, and I agree to get one.

"Alright, alright." I say, rolling my eyes, as I let her tug me towards the back of the shop, to look at tattoos..

I see another Phoenix, a smaller one than what she has, and less feminine looking. "This one." I say shyly, as I point to the Phoenix. I can feel my face heat up slightly, as she looks to see which one I picked.

"Aww you wanna match me?" She teases me, and I feel my face heat up even more at her words..

"Or I could get something else..." I mutter, kinda embarrassed.

"No, you should get it. It's like the male Phoenix, I like it." She says, smiling at me.

I get it, near the same place she got it, on my back, a little below my shoulder, causing her to tease me again for getting it in the same spot.

An hour later, we leave the shop, after I get mine, and we walk back towards the ship, hand in hand.

"Thanks Russ, I had a lot of fun today." She says, smiling at me.

"Not over yet." I say, giving her a playful wink, which earns me a laugh.

"Really? What else could there be?" She asks, a question in her eyes.

I stop her suddenly, not that far away from the ship, as I take out the small box that I had been carrying around all day.

She eyes it curious, and I open it, to reveal the ring I had gotten her. It had an emerald in it, on a silver band. I was simple, with a slight design by the jewel, the band was swirled into a design.

             She looks back and forth, from the ring to me, the surprise and shock evident in her features, and I can't help chuckling slightly, at her reaction.

            "I know what your thinking. I also know you think it's too early for that." I say, and she nods, still speechless.

              "I know I haven't known you that long, but you stole my heart Kris, from the very first night when ya picked me for your roommate on the ship. I fell for ya more each day as I got to know ya, and I know I still have a lot more to learn about you, but I look forward to getting to know you even more. I love you Kris." I say, as I slip the ring on her ring finger.

             "I also know you think it's too early, so look at it as more of a promise ring. I promise to love you, and be there for you, and when you're ready, and you feel the time is right, I want to marry you." I add, smiling at her.

              She flings herself at me, hugging me, then she pulls back, kissing me. I kiss her back eagerly, and she pulls away all too soon.

             "It's... It's beautiful thank you. It's a beautiful promise you made to me as well.. Thank you.." She says, smiling. "I... I love you too Russ... And someday, I'll be ready for that." She adds, and I can't help smiling at her.

               We head back to the ship, where we have a small party with the rest of the crew, with cake.

              Afterwards we head back to our room, and I start kissing her, as I push her down on the bed.

               She looks at me, slightly hesitant... It was a step we hadn't taken yet, and I didn't want to make her if she wasn't ready.

              "If your not ready we won't." I say, kissing her forehead as I pull back.

               "No I'm ready. Just a little nervous...." She trails off, blushing slightly.

            "There's nothing to be nervous about... You're beautiful." I say, as I undress her slowly, and we spend the rest of the night, lost in each other, as we spend our first passionate night together, making love until the sun comes up.
