Raya

Heaven - O.A.R.

It's actually an incredibly accurate song if you think about it in the context of her relationship with Zoro. But what made me really like the song and connect it to Raya was this line:

"Everybody got a problem with the way I live, I don't wanna go to Heaven if I can't get"

It's just... really fitting, ya know? Raya doesn't care how others see her, for the most part. All she wants to do is live her life the way she wants to, with who she wants to. And she's accepted that there will be people and places who won't accept her.

Katana

Shout at the Moon - Mallory Knox

I've talked about this before, how I think it's a real fitting song for Katana. It speaks to the fact that she, too, has accepted who she is, and especially to how she understands that she is a completely different creature from most humans due to how she was raised and by whom. She's colder, distant, just all around darker - and she's convinced she can't be "saved".

But she still wants to be saved.

She wants someone who'll crack her sarcastic shell and bring out the girl who's trapped inside. Cliche as that sounds, it's a nagging thought that Katana can't escape, even more so after she's met Raya.

Really, I think this is the perfect character song for her, and if you guys listen to nothing of my music advice besides this, that's fine. Just go listen to it and tell me it doesn't remind you of Katana.

Also, I don't mind spoiling this because I'm really excited for it, Katana will meet the person she's unconsciously reaching out for in Destined for Royalty. So have fun guessing how that'll go.

Timor

Basically anything by Sleepwave.

I'm serious. If you find their album, Broken Compass, basically every song on it relates to Timor. And I've done a few chapters in my art book with lyrics from them plastered over a pic of Timor, so I'll just do a song I haven't talked about yet.

The whole song just reminds me of Timor. Honestly, it's like it was as made for him.

See? Totally him. And I even take it as a conversation between the Timor of the past and the current Timor. 'Cause, see, if you take a line line: You'll sink and I'll survive, it's like, the current Timor's the one who survived. He's the one who made it out. So he doesn't want pity or anything from his past self.

Yeah, that go long-winded. But I have a lot of songs for Timor. God. Too many.

Maddox

Hero - Skillet

@PokemonRio actually suggested that this song was good for Maddox, and I completely agree.

It simultaneously conveys how much Maddox wants to make a change and how powerless he feels to do so.

This line is perfect for him, in my opinion:

"I am just a man, not superhuman (I'm not superhuman), someone save me from the hate"

Indigo

Monster - Skillet

Indigo's probably pretty insane. And she knows it.

For the most part, she doesn't give a damn. The craziness is just a part of her. But when it comes to Maddox... she really does not want to scare him away (those of you who read False Bravery, you know exactly why). Only around him is when she feels like there's something really wrong with her, because he's so innocent and pure and she's just... not.

Adriel

Good Life - One Republic

So he's not a canon character yet, but I really like him. Therefore, he's getting a song.

Adriel's a pretty easygoing guy. Things don't bother him the way they do other people. And really, he pretty much believes that the world's a good place when people bother to look for said good. Which is why he's got this catchy, uplifting song from my favorite band as his theme.

My favorite lyrics from the song that really fit Adriel are:

Ooh, you guys won't get why this song works so well for them. You just won't, because you know almost nothing about them, and nothing at all about their past.

They... went through a lot of shit to become the people they are today, and they are constantly trying to escape the memory of it. Literally and figuratively.

Wait a little bit, because if I manage to write their story this summer, you might actually think they've had it worse than Timor.
