Such Wow Story
So Shadow_ssToriel challenged me and a couple other people to quickly draw something, then make a story out of it.
Soooo, here's the drawing:
My best work yet
The dialogue is so profound...
"Klub na"
"Klub yeth"
(I spelled it wrong on purpose so I'd fit with the theme of the drawing)
And now,
Story Time.
Warning: The following might be kinda... Disturbing. I got carried away.
Third Person
Diamond straightened out his tie as the body fell to the ground. Not technically dead, but with no soul, it would never wake up.
Souls were a powerful resource, but not one so easily obtained. For one, you needed to be able to absorb the soul in the first place, and for that, you needed a body suitable for such a thing. Diamond was lucky enough to have these factors, and thus, could reap the rewards.
Souls were powerful, and in order to keep himself alive, and have enough power to defend himself, Diamond needed some.
"Two should be more than enough." Diamond sighed, flexing himself and allowing his body to adjust to the new energy. "Poseidon knows that too much of this magic does unspeakable things to the body."
Feeling a headache coming on, he brought a hand up to his combed back blue hair and gripped it. He winced, and finally, five minutes or so later, it disappeared. Already noticing his clouded mind, the man groaned lightly. "Maybe it was too much... Clubs is making me over exaggerate things again, I must stop doing that."
The dark blue eyes searched around, now his mind thinking of the person he mentioned before. "Speaking of... I told him to stay close in case someone rather unfriendly shows their face..."
Then, there was a pause. The figure he knew so well began to make his way over, but the hairs on the back of his neck stood up. Clubs wasn't even ten feet away yet, and already he sensed something different. A deep, dark feeling screamed at him to run, but Diamond dismissed it for human instincts. The human bodies they managed to create were sufficient, but so very flawed.
Diamond almost didn't notice Clubs was standing right in front of him until he stopped and grinned. Clubs would often have the most cheerful or wicked grin that either meant he was happy, or he got into mischief. The one he had on was both, but a deep twisted part of it puzzled his partner to no end.
"Ah, you are here." Diamond nodded in his direction. It was only then that he picked up on the power coming off of him. Like a tidal wave, suddenly making Diamond feel like he was choking until he took a step back. How he didn't notice it before was a mystery to him, but he tried to shake it off.
"What..." He managed to say before it clicked in his mind. "Clubs, how many souls did you take?"
Clubs, twitching with power and excitement, bounced on his heels. "I lost track... Seven?" He began to hum to himself. Little bits of power were already radiating off of him.
Diamond tried to say something, but found himself speechless. Giggling, Clubs looked down at his arms like he had never seen them before. Large sparks began to spring out of it, and Clubs kept laughing. "So much power! I love it!" His arms wrapped around his waist, giving himself a hug, and closing his eyes. "Ahhh... Feels so good..."
Gulping, Diamond suddenly wished he and Clubs stayed together. "R-right... Clubs, you over did it a little, but," He put his hands up in reassurance. "We can fix this. If I can just-"
Diamond reached out to touch Clubs but he suddenly slapped the hand away, eyes narrowing. "Fix this?" He echoed. His head twitched violently and his eyes darkened. "We don't need to fix anything! I feel fine- in fact! I've never felt better!"
Gritting his teeth in worry, Diamond shook his head. "That's just the power talking." He carefully reached out once again. "Just let me help you."
His hands managed to brush against his jacket before Clubs grabbed his wrist and twisted it violently. Diamond let out a sharp cry of pain and found himself being pulled closer to Clubs. He could now see his crazed eyes, blue veins streaming from the pupil.
"I said I'm-!" Clubs stopped himself suddenly. The eyes stared deep into the other ones, and a slow and sadistic smile grew on his face. "Oh. Ohhhh." He chuckled to himself. "D, you didn't tell me how much power you had."
Diamond tried to pull away, but the death grip he had on him was too strong for him to do so. He tried to relax, but had trouble with the intense stare Clubs had on him, looking at him like he was a piece of candy. "You don't need anymore power. I'll drop it, Let's just go." Diamond kept a steady voice, but both of them knew of the fear in his eyes.
Clubs slowly shook his head. "No... I want it."
Clubs other hand suddenly grasped his neck and began to squeeze. Diamond coughed, and released his hold on the power he had immediately. He didn't want to deal with the damage if he didn't.
Power flowing from one mouth, to the other, the transfer was soon complete and Diamond would've fell to the ground had Clubs grip on him been loosened.
Clubs smiled like he was in a dream while Diamond struggled to breathe. The hand on his neck was gone, but the one on his dominate wrist remained.
"There..." Diamond could barely speak, but forced himself to. "Is that enough?"
Clubs didn't speak for a long time, then his eyes shot open. "No."
"No?" Diamond was in disbelief. "You have so much energy now, what more could you want?"
Clubs stared right at his chest, and while that sent chills, his next words would make his stomach drop. "Yours. Give me your soul."
Diamond shook his head hastily. "I need that. Anything else is fine but I need that to live."
Clubs snickered. "But D! If I get your soul, we'll be closer together! You'll never leave."
Diamond could only say one thing in response. "You're insane!"
"Oh, D... I've never felt so clear in my life."
Diamond then made his move.
Swiftly jerking his captive hand up, Diamond caused Clubs' own hand to punch himself in the jaw. Already reeling back because of the pain, once he was free, Diamond delivered a kick to his stomach to send him stumbling back for good measure.
When he finally grounded himself, Clubs slowly lifted his hand and brushed it across his face before looking down at the result. When he caught sight of the crimson liquid, his smile only good wider. "You drew first blood." His head snapped into focus and locked eyes with a horrified Diamond. "Which means I don't need to feel remorse for doing this!"
Diamond knew his partner too well, and knew this wasn't good. Taking a step back, he braces himself and manage to block the first few blows when Clubs charged at him, but couldn't move fast enough to stop the sudden shift when it happened. Clubs sucker punched his side, then elbowed his nose when he moved in his line of attack.
Now on his knees, Diamond took a kick and was forced on his back. Clubs moved to stomp on him but the well dressed on rolled out of the way, predicting it. As he got back to his knees, he threw the best punch he could manage at his side before springing up.
Diamond and Clubs were normally evenly matched, but with Clubs' extra boost of souls still at his expense, the smart thing to do was make a run for it.
Diamond dashed away, but didn't get as far as he liked as bolts of electricity shot through him. Much more than his body has tolerance for. He tripped but forced himself to his feet and glanced back.
Clubs was strolling over to him, whistling like he was in the park. "Let's make this battle more fun!" He announced, then before he could even think, an even more powerful energy blast hit his right leg, and Diamond screamed in pain when a deafening crack made him fall to the ground.
"Now you can't run away! It's no fun when you run away!"
Diamond looked at Clubs, and then his now broken leg, shaking in fear. His eyes searched around before he spotted rubble from buildings. He stumbled as he stood and hopped the best he could over to the large piles. His good leg gave out on him right as he reached it, and from there, he crawled to the one furthest away from where Clubs was and prayed he didn't see exactly which one he was hiding behind.
He cradled his leg and bit back the screams he wanted to let out. He made his body even smaller and covered his mouth so he couldn't hear his panting.
"Hide and go seek?" Diamond's eyes squeezed shut and tried to shot his body from shaking. "My favorite! Ready or not, here I come!"
Diamond waited, but seeing as he heard rustling around from the places around him, Diamond knew Clubs was still searching and he still had time to do... Something.
He searched around, hoping to find anything of use before spotting a sharp, shard of glass. His hands reached out to snatch it up.
Then, another hand grabbed his shoulder, and all hope was lost.
"Found you~"
Diamond was shoved to the ground and pinned there as Clubs smirked confidently. "I was wondering where you went! That was a fun game, but I'm taking that soul with me!"
Clubs put both his hands on his collarbone, but Diamond cries out. "Clubs, wait! Please! Don't do this! I'm your partner, remember? Your other half! Killing me will bring pain, no matter how good the power feels at first!"
Tears escaped his eyes, but he tried to blink them back, no matter how fast his heart pumped. "This isn't you..." A sob caught in his throat, but he choked it down.
Clubs blinked, hesitating and relaxing his shoulders. "No, it's not..." He agreed.
Clubs let out a high powered shock, putting Diamond to sleep. One he wouldn't wake up from. "I'm better."
***********************
So, the moral of the story: I get really carried away.
Uh... Yeah. None of this is canon, and Clubs wouldn't normally do this, but he was super powered and not in the right mind. Think about it: Diamond barely held himself together with two, and Clubs had seven.
Anyways, I hope this was kinda good and stuff. Be sure to comment what you thought, and goodbye!
