Favorite Episodes- Atlantis
Before I start, I know I've been doing this a lot more than my other books but that's mainly because my next chapter of Sea Serpent is taking longer than expected! I already have 2,000 words on the chapter and I'm not done yet, so bare with me!
Now, on to the topic of hand! I have decided to do this because... I wanted to? Anyways, I think I'll do top ten because there is a lot of great ones! They will be from all three of the Atlantis series and mostly in Cody's perspective because going through EVERYONE'S episodes will take a long time. I am warning you right now, I'm going to have a very long paragraph on why these are my favorites but, let's do this!
10) The first episode: The Forgotten City
The reason it's on here is because I'm a sucker for first episodes. I love to see how the characters first come into play, how they were introduced and how they acted, then compare it to how they grow. I mean look at Cody! I mean he's the same dork who came to Atlantis but he's grown! He can freeze time now! (Granted, he can't control it but still!) and he's expanding to the Overworld! Progress is amazing!
9) KrakenKid steals the Gauntlet
I mainly like this one because it's the first time Atlantis really turned serious. Before it was like "We got tricked by the Sneaky Sisters! Now we're fighting a giant lobster" or "Meet Professor Pikalus!" but then suddenly "The lab, a place we thought was safe, got attacked by this new character who also beat the Professor, killed a bunch of people and stole something that could become a nuclear bomb!" and I wasn't prepared for that. I mean dude! What? 0-100 right there. After that, Atlantis really began to form. Their father was revealed, there were more invasions and attacks and it just really evolved!
8) Attack on the Conch Command
Holy crap. Like I said before, the stealing of the gauntlet was just wow but this made it look like it was just play fighting. Watching this was actually heart wrenching for me! I loved both sides and I was in a state of both internal high pitched screaming and shock. I was like "Wow, good job Cody!" and "No! Hold on Kraken!" at the same time and then by the part two, I was just flopped on the ground, unsure of how I was feeling and extremely distressed and conflicted. On one hand, "Hey Cody won!" but on the other, "HE DIED?!?!?!??!?! WHAT NO COME BACK! HA HA NICE JOKE THERE BUD! YOU BETTER BE ALIVE" and I didn't think they'd actually do that! Atlantis got intense after this and I love that. Yes, it got emotional and the emotions hit me like a firetruck, buttttt still! I like it!
7) Goodbye Atlantis
Okay, this was absolutely great! Pikalus and Cody got some bro time and Cody actually stated he was having nightmares about killing KrakenKid, which really showed off a real side to him! I mean, not like he isn't normally, but a lot of heroes who kill the villain have no regret, but Cody does. Plus, Atlantis is expanding and a sweet space elevator!
6) Secret mission to take down KrakenKid
Let's go down the list of what happened:
-Brilliant trap on Kraken's part that worked almost perfectly
-Cool sponge thing
-Fights
-KrakenKid starts screaming at his clueless guard, who has no idea what's going on, to free him
-KrakenKid just shouting things at Cody as he tries to get his USB
-This quote Kraken: "I need water or else I'm going to die!"
Cody: "You'll be fine!"
-Sass on Kraken's part holy crap
- "KrakenKid? How are you doing?" How do you think? XD
- "Don't touch Harold" Touch him and you die
- "Squids can stay out of water for at least 10 seconds!"
"It's been a lot longer than ten seconds there buddy. I don't know where you learned math."
That Sass though
-That screaming at the end though. Don't mess with his zip drive
And finally,
-Shady one liner from Cody
Need I say more?
5) Cody is taken captive
THE ENDING THOUGH
This was a HUGE cliff hanger that just led right into Atlantis Endeavors! I mean it set it up perfectly! It had all of the mystery and eerie-ness that just tied into the first episode of the next season! It was just amazing, plus, my favorite line ever is in this episode, said by non other than Professor Pikalus himself!
"Ding dong, the king is dead."
Best line ever. Even better that it was in response to "Hey, I might not come back alive."
4) The Aftermath: For the Tide Changers
This is the one exception on the thing where I was going to do all of them from Cody's perspective (because Cody gets a lot of the story) but it's a good one. It really relived me to see that KrakenKid wasn't actually dead. You never see the aftermath of a battle from a "Villains" side but here you could. They go through the same heart ache and disappointments a hero does when they lose, and then came the famous line. "The Tides will rise again." from younger Blooper. Wise words young squid child. Plus, I actually loved Larsa because they looked so cool but then they DIED and it's so sad. KrakenKid is actually sounds in pain when he has to bury them.
3) Body Switch
I believe I have stated this before, but I am a huge sucker for body switches and this was the best possible choice they could have done. Cody learns things about Kraken that he never knew, like how he helps serve foods and stuff, and also learns secrets as well, which I suspect will lead to more problems. Kraken... Well he just got to screw around XD While Cody has a crisis, Kraken's all like "Huh... I can work with this. Hey, If I'm stuck in his body I might as well have some fun!" Which really shows their personality while also being funny as heck
2) Fight in the Overworld: In the airport And KrakenKid and Cody work together
FINALLY! After everything, I had been waiting for this moment for SO long! I had no idea how KrakenKid was going to reveal himself, but this was the best! Okay, lets see... Cody froze time and found out Kraken was alive, which was really funny and also another favorite quote of mine came "Calm down you psycho." coming from KrakenKid. Then, they actually had to talk, and their whole conversation is gold.
Cody: What have you done?
Kraken: What have I done? You're the one taking over villages.
OH SNAP! HE GOT YOU THERE
Kraken: You literary were out there, killing random people
It's so weird, the villain makes so much sense, it's SCARY
Cody: I killed you... I'm sorry about that.
Apology! Good job! I'm proud!
Kraken: I have to kill you now! It's only fair
I think you're taking "An eye for an eye" a bit to seriously XD
Cody: You killed innocent people! Farmers and villages!
Kraken: You're killing innocent people right now!
Holy crap. This. I just. OH SNAPPPPPPPPP
WHY DOES KRAKEN SEEM TO HAVE BETTER POINTS?
Cody: They're just ancient ancestral people! They're not real!
Kraken: Just because they're not Atlanteans doesn't mean they aren't real
Can we just talk about this for a second? This is coming from a Villain, someone who purposely does bad things. Kraken sees that what he's doing is just plain wrong and is calling him out for it. When Cody, the hero, the protagonist, is being judged by the villain, you know he's done something wrong.
Not only this, but I think he may be talking about his Tide Changers. I mean, Cody has killed tons of his Illithids and felt no shame and even kidnapped Blooper, laid a path of destruction to the Conch Command and almost killed KrakenKid. KrakenKid might be referencing that Cody detaches himself from the Tide Changers because they aren't Atlanteans, but Kraken brings up that they're still people with lives and feelings.
Cody: We're out of Atlantis, why not take over Atlantis like you've always wanted?
Kraken: Because I want you.
True intentions revealed! Kraken doesn't just want to take it over, he wants Cody out of the equation. Cody's the king, and Kraken despises that and the way he runs things.
Kraken: I just wanted to free Atlantis from you, and all the people like you
Again, true intentions!
Kraken: At least I don't disguise myself as a hero
KrakenKid has so many good lines in here, crap man
Cody: How are you even alive?
Kraken: My baby Blooper resuscitated me
You can just hear the pride in his voice. "Oh yeah, my son brought me back to life! I'm so proud!"
Also, tied with it is when Cody and KrakenKid are in the Overworld and have to work together. They (Somewhat) bond and just... It's great. Here, have even more quotes!
Cody: I'm a penguin! Of course I don't know how to fly!
Iiiiiii see what you did there ;)
Cody: I can't believe I'm saying this, it goes against everything I've ever thought towards you. I thought I killed you, and you know- I'm going to man up. When a man makes a mistake, he shows his true colors when he admits he's wrong and I think my father, Poseidon, would want me to do this: I'm sorry.
Kraken: You're giving me Atlantis?
Cody: Wha- no! I'm sorry!
Kraken: You're surrendering?
Cody: I- I'M SORRY!
Kraken: You're gonna bow down and kiss my feet?
Cody: Okay, now I understand why I hate you!
This XD
Cody: *Points gun at KrakenKid*
Kraken: *Pulls out larger gun*
Cody: Oh, okay. I- I'm sorry, for killing you.
Smart move there
Cody: I don't know what got me so angry- hold on! You had my friends sword!
Kraken: And you stole my son!
Cody: How did you get my friends sword?
Kraken: How did you steal my son?
Well that backfired. Kraken has a point though
Cody: He was out in the middle of the war, and Hulk- Professor-
Kraken: Stole my son
Cody: No wait-
Kraken: He's under your command, so therefore you are responsible
Wise words... Dang Kraken
Cody: Do you accept my apology?
Kraken: I'll have to think about it. I'm not giving an answer yet
That's fair. Actually really nice of him
Kraken: Silver belllllllss, Silver belllllsss~
Cody: Okay, WE ARE NOT GOING TO GET THROUGH THIS DAY IF YOU JUST KEEP- WHATEVER THAT IS, IF YOU KEEP- singing. We just can't
Kraken: You've never heard singing before?
Cody: I've heard singing before but, your singing, it sounds like a cat, really mad and it's dying
Kraken: Smelly cat! Smelly cat~
Cody: No! Now it's being put in a blender... I don't want to imagine a cat being put in a blender, that's terrible!
Dang! Ruthless!
Kraken: .... Silver bells~
CODY: STOPPPPP
XD He's purposely pissing him off
Cody: .... I hate you
Kraken: Feelings mutual buddy
Best response, 10/10
The Sass coming from both of them is just perfect.
And finally, you might not suspect this but, my number one is.....
1) First episode of Atlantis Endeavors: Cody is put in jail to get his YouTube password
I know, odd choice but hear me out! This is actually really sentimental for me because it really got me into the series! First off, Cody is captured right? But even through this, he still manages to SASS THE CRAP OUT OF KRAKENKID and KrakenKid is so done that most of the time, he just fires a warning shot to get him to stop talking. Plus, you finally learn answers! KrakenKid and his group gets their name known: The Tide Changers and their base, The Conch Command! Plus, first time KrakenKid actually talks! This episode was amazing for me because watching it for the first time, I was so invested and really wanted to see more so I started to actively watching the channel and it took me here! That episode has always been a found memory for me, and I doubt anything can top it.
*********************************************
That turned out a lot longer than expected but here it is! After making this, I noticed a pattern in many of my favorite episodes and it's that most have Kraken and Cody in them... I like their interactions okay!
I hope you liked it! Be sure to comment what your favorites are! I'm curious! See ya!
