A Friend

When lightning strikes and thunders roar

When the sky's too wild for birds to soar

When volcanoes erupt and earths quake

When the wind's too strong for one to take

When raindrops fall and create a flood

When water comes rushing in like blood

When rainbows seem so far from near

When silver linings disappear

When it's all too much to handle

In the dark, I'll be your candle

Even if the storm seems not to cease

I'll stay by your side and put your heart at ease
