Beautiful Spanish #1

Spanish is a beautiful language. We must admit that it's sensual an romantic and even though it's hard to roll those r's, we have fun trying to pronounce it... Well, you, not me, because Spanish is my native tongue. Now you can envy me *inserts evil laugh*.

No, seriously, all languages have their own charm, but Spanish is a winner. It's one of the Romance languages and it's been influenced by Arabic, Germanic languages, and other Romance languages as well.

This is going to be a series of entries in which I'll include some of my favorite words in Spanish. You'll be impressed to see that most of them are very similar to words in another languages.

3. diáfano - diaphanous
4. cadencia - cadence
5. alma - soul
6. fantasía - fantasy
7. ojalá - perhaps, or 'God willing' derived from 'O, Allah'
8. amor - love
9. mariposa - butterfly
10. luna - moon
