Hope puts the note card away and begins to speak. "My name is Hope Taylor and my hero is my mother, Jackie Taylor. I looked up to her a lot in my life and she's done so much for me and my father. I spent 4 years of my life without a mother to love me like she does. But she's so much more than just a care provider or giver of love for her daughter. She serves her role in the armed services in the Marine Branch where she spends months serving for her country. I honer this quality with all of my heart and the fact she saved me and my father from the life of poverty. I love you mom, you're my hero." She smiles tearfully then steps off of the stage. One of Hope's closets friends cheers for her behind the curtains.
