Tae was parched, his mouth tasted like saw dust. Every breath of air grated against his throat, making him want to stop breathing entirely and then had him gasping for air the next moment. His throat burned and his head felt like someone had taken a hammer-jack to it.
He needed to stop drinking.
He felt a soft but insistent vibration against his thigh and groaned as he felt around his legs to pull his phone out from his denim pocket.
He held it close to his face and managed to open one eye to stare at it.
***Alarm 06:00 AM***
Practice @ 7:00 am - the reminder read.
He turned off the alarm and let the phone fall off his hands. As his vision cleared it landed straight on the gorgeous face next to him. It was puffy and squished on one side. Yet, it was the prettiest thing Tae had ever seen.
His full lips were parted and Tae had to fight the urge to kiss them. The mole under his lips almost had him undone. His eyes caressed his entire face longingly before his rational mind caught up to the present.
Why the fuck was he in bed with him?
Tae bolted upright.
He felt the heaviness of Jungkook's arm which was obviously draped around his waist, fall onto his lap as he sat up.
Looking around, he realised he wasn't in his room at all. He looked at their legs tangled under the blanket and his heart picked up pace.
He tried to free himself but the bunny only seemed to tighten his hold.
Had they....?
He had come home very drunk last night and all of the events were a little hazy.
He quickly ran his hands over himself. Thankfully, he was still fully dressed in yesterday's clothes. He turned to look at the sleeping giant next to him. He was dressed too, his tshirt had ridden up, revealing his toned waist. Taehyung averted his gaze and lifted the blanket and continued to carefully untangle their legs without waking the boy beside him.
Once he was free, he jumped off the bed, landing wrong. He bit his lips as he stifled a groan of pain. He looked back to make sure the bunny was still sleeping and hobbled away sneakily to the bathroom.
Jungkook woke to his alarm. It was blaring out loud and he couldn't locate his phone fast enough to turn it off. He huffed as he got on to his knees and lifted up his pillow looking for the offending gadget that wouldn't stop ringing. He finally found it buried deep in the blanket and turned it off. He groaned, wanting to just fall back on to his pillow again but he had practice today and it was Friday so he could sleep all he wanted tomorrow.
He looked around as last night's events slowly came back to him. Tae had helped him to bed and if he wasn't mistaken, he had slept here too.
Jungkook smiled but then it fell the very next moment. Would he act the same way he had that horrid morning? Blaming Jungkook for seducing him into his bed?
He could hear some shuffling and other sounds from the kitchen. He needed to get out of bed, he crawled out backwards out of bed and dragged his feet to walk out to the kitchen.
The sight that greeted him made him doubt if he had really woken up or was still dreaming in bed.
Taehyung stood in the kitchen bare chested in his long boxer shorts. He was pouring some eggs on to the pan. His wavy black hair falling over his forehead and into his eyes.
Jungkook's eyes traveled appreciatively over his bare torso, the flat belly leading down to a narrow waist which lead to.. he gulped.
"Like what you see?" Taehyung asked wanting to make the younger man squirm in embarrassment at being caught staring.
Jungkook's eyes snapped up to his face. Taehyung was looking at him through the fringe of dark hair. He was too handsome, even this early in the morning, it wasn't fair.
Jungkook smirked "Yes, very much. Thank you, I appreciate it." He winked.
Tae clenched his jaw and Jungkook grinned still staring at him unabashedly.
His nose wrinkled when the smell of burnt eggs reached his nostrils. "Planning on burning down the house?"
"Oh fuck!" Taehyung jumped as he touched the pan, burning his fingers in the process.
"Yah!" Jungkook sprinted over. "What are you doing?"
He quickly turned the stove off and the faucet on, pulling Taehyung close and holding his fingers under the cold water.
"I just wanted to make some eggs." Tae said in a small voice.
"Were your fingers supposed to be the toppings on it?" Jungkook asked irritably, still holding his hand in the water. His other hand held Taehyung's waist but neither realised the intimacy of their situation, too focused on the task at hand.
"I didn't eat much all day yesterday and got too drunk. I'm hungover so I just wanted to eat a little something to settle my stomach." Tae explained.
He looked at the pan which now held the charred remains of his piss poor attempt at cooking. The smell made bile rise in the back of his throat.
"I think that's enough." He said pulling his hand out and stepping away from Jungkook who eyed him questioningly.
"How did you survive on your own this long?" He muttered shaking his head.
"On coffee?" Tae scratched his head and looked around. He walked to the large coffee machine and loaded it. His fingers glided over the buttons as he set it up to brew.
"Sit down. I'll whip something up for you." Jungkook took off the pan and dumped it into the sink. He pulled two fresh pans and placed them on the stove, turning it on.
"You don't have to do that." Taehyung said half heartedly, he was starving though.
He grabbed a high chair and climbed on it, leaning his elbows on to the countertop.
He watched as Jungkook removed containers from the fridge, cracked two eggs in a bowl, expertly beating them with chopsticks. He added seasonings and poured it in one of the pans. He placed two slices of salami on to the other.
Soon, the kitchen was filled with the most delicious aroma, the sound of sizzling food and Jungkook's melodious humming as he cooked. He added two slices of bread to the eggs and flipped it over, doing a little wiggle dance as it landed perfectly in his pan. Tae suppressed a smile that was creeping up on his face.
Once it was done, he slid it into a plate. Tae watched as the boy added kimchi on both sides, a slice of cheese and then placed the salami before closing the egg sandwich. He slid the plate to Tae. "Bon Appétit"
"What about you?" Tae asked, his mouth watering at the sight of food.
"I don't eat before practice. I'll have some coffee though. You mind?" Jungkook pointed at the coffee machine.
"Knock yourself out." Tae said grabbing the sandwich with both hands.
Jungkook poured himself a cup and brought it to his lips, taking a tentative sip.
Both boys let out appreciative moans.
"Oh man! This is good." Jungkook said taking another sip.
"I know right." Tae bit off another mouthful.
Jungkook carried the cup in his hands like it was the most precious thing in the world. He needed to get ready, so he walked to his room. He opened the door and saw the messy bed, he had almost forgotten.
He stepped back out and looked at Tae who was enjoying his breakfast as if it was his last.
"So how did you sleep last night?" He asked.
Taehyung choked on food in his mouth and rapidly beat his chest with his fist to make it go down.
Jungkook laughed out loud. So he hadn't dreamed it, the elder had indeed spent the night in his bed.
Jungkook went to get ready for the day still chuckling at the man's reaction. He checked the watch, he was running late, he'd need a ride, waiting for the bus wasn't an option today. He grabbed his phone and shot a text.
Jungkook:
Hey! I'm running late.
Mind giving me a ride?
Mingyu:
Sure! Tell me where.
Jungkook quickly sent the location to him and threw the phone on the bed. He carried his coffee into the bathroom with him and set about getting ready.
He came out into the living room fifteen minutes later. The kitchen was spotless and Tae was nowhere to be seen.
He shrugged and hurried out the door. "Shit! The code!" He smacked his forehead.
Tae came running out of his room. "Jeon!" He called.
Jungkook turned around to see the elder grab his backpack. "What time will you be back today?"
"5ish.. why?" Jungkook asked.
"I'll try and make it at the same time. We need to talk." Tae informed him.
"Oh?"
"Yeah... and the code is 0613."
"Thanks." Jungkook said, memorising it on his way out. He called the elevator as Tae locked the door and came over. They rode down in awkward silence. The elevator seemed to get smaller and smaller before the doors finally opened allowing them both to breathe again.
"Do you need a ride?" Tae asked as they walked outside.
"Uhm..."
A horn sounded behind him and he turned to see a shiny silver volvo.
"Thanks but... uh... m-my ride's here." Jungkook turned away and walked towards the car.
He was regretting all of his life's decisions right about now. How was he to know that Tae would offer to give him a ride? What he wouldn't give to spend a few more minutes in his company. But fate had other plans. Obviously.
Taehyung stared at the driver. He recognised him from Vegas, he was the guy who was kissing Jungkook. NYU goalkeeper. Minji, Mingi something. Why was he giving him a ride? Were they together? Did he know about the two of them being married? Were they plotting something? Was he the one telling Jungkook what to do?
Taehyung didn't like him. Like at all.
There was just something off about the guy. He stared hard at him hoping to find some sign.
Jungkook slid into the passenger seat and Mingyu greeted him with a smile and then looked back at the guy still standing on the sidewalk.
"Wait! Is that....? Fuck! That's Kim Taehyung!" Mingyu exclaimed.
Jungkook hummed not wanting to say anything.
"You now live in the same building as the guy you have had a crush on for the longest time?"
Jungkook groaned. It had been a drunken confession in a game of truth or dare with his team. He's regretted it ever since.
"Can we go now or are you going to ogle him some more?"
"Yeah okay. But wow! What are the odds, huh?" Gyu asked as he pulled the car off the curb, driving away from the man who was obviously staring daggers at him.
Jungkook took one last look at Taehyung. He looked livid. Jungkook frowned, what was that about, he wondered.
It almost looked like he was.... Jealous.
Almost.
