chapter 16

As the day of the mission dawned, Jungkook prepared to depart for mission, leaving TaeTae alone in their heavily fortified home. The security was state-of-the-art, ensuring the safety of his precious "little bean."

Jungkook and his team conducted a thorough check of their arsenal, readying themselves for a daring raid against the notorious terrorist. The mission's objective was clear: to liberate the innocent girls and boys held captive by the terrorist's ruthless regime, and bring an end to their reign of terror.

Suga explained the plan, and Jungkook sat attentively, listening to every detail. He felt genuinely proud that his father had chosen someone as exceptional as Suga, who was not only highly professional but also intelligent and loyal.

Jungkook had never viewed Yoongi merely as his right-hand man; instead, he regarded him as an older brother. He held his hyung in high esteem, and if Yoongi were to reprimand him in front of others, Jungkook would accept it without complaint.

Similarly, Suga had always considered Jungkook his younger brother. Their families shared a deep bond, as Suga's father had been Jungkook's father's closest confidant. Jungkook's father had immense respect for Mr. Min, who had demonstrated unwavering loyalty, ultimately sacrificing his life for Mr. Jeon.

Following Mr. Min's passing, Mr. Jeon sought vengeance against those responsible for his friend's death. Afterward, Suga was taken under Mr. Jeon's wing, where he met Jungkook, and they formed a strong bond.

When Mr. Jeon eventually relinquished the throne to Jungkook, Suga assumed the role of his right-hand man, pledging to protect him. Just as his father had done, Suga was willing to lay down his life for Jungkook.

Jungkook woke up early, got ready, and prepared to leave for work. Before departing, he instructed his bodyguard to keep TaeTae safe, ensuring he didn't step out of the mansion and to keep a close eye on him.

As Jungkook left, his mind wandered back to TaeTae, but he was quickly snapped back to reality by Suga's voice. "Did you understand what I said, boss?" Suga asked, prompting Jungkook to nod in agreement.

Suga continued, "Okay, let's check our weapons and get ready for the mission. We didn't come here to sightsee." The team nodded and began to file out of the room.

As Jungkook turned to leave, Suga caught his arm, holding him back. "Listen, Jungkook, this mission is going to be dangerous. Keep that in mind. This isn't a game; it's a matter of life and death. You know that from experience."

Jungkook nodded solemnly, acknowledging Suga's warning.

Suga's expression turned stern. "So be careful, watch your step, and think before you act. Don't be reckless, and don't zone out. Remember, someone is waiting for you back at the mansion, TaeTae is waiting for you."

Jungkook nodded again, his expression serious. "I understand, hyung. I'll be careful."

Suga patted Jungkook's shoulder, and together they headed out to check their weapons and prepare for the mission.

On the other hand, TaeTae sat alone, his face scrunched up in a sad pout. He missed Jungkook terribly, and the fact that Jungkook had left him alone was almost too much to bear.

When TaeTae asked the workers about Jungkook, they tried to reassure him that Jungkook would be back soon. But TaeTae was inconsolable, his eyes welling up with tears as he whimpered for his Mommy.

One of the female workers, a kind and gentle soul, tried to feed TaeTae, but he pushed the food away, his face contorted in a mixture of sadness and longing. "I want Mommy ," he cried, his small voice cracking with emotion.

The female workers were deeply affected by TaeTae's distress, and they tried their best to comfort him. They showered him with affection, speaking softly and trying to distract him with toys and games. But TaeTae's heart belonged to Jungkook, and he couldn't be consoled until Jungkook returned to him, wrapping him in a warm and loving embrace.

After being comforted by the workers, TaeTae managed to eat a little food, but his sadness lingered. He trudged to his room, his face still etched with a sorrowful expression. Once he reached his bed, he sat down and picked up a photo of Jungkook, caressing it gently.

"Please cowe back to Tete, Tete is missing you so much," TaeTae whispered, his voice trembling as tears slipped from his eyes and landed on the photo frame.

TaeTae had grown accustomed to Jungkook's constant presence in his life, and even a small separation was unbearable for him. His insecurity about losing Jungkook, who had shown him unconditional love and made him incredibly happy, had taken hold. The mere fact that Jungkook had left him for a short while for work had triggered TaeTae's deep-seated fear of abandonment.

TaeTae had grown so used to Jungkook's loving gestures – roaming around him, feeding him, playing with him, and showering him with affection – that his absence felt like a void that couldn't be filled.

As TaeTae continued to talk to Jungkook's photo, he heard muffled voices outside his room, but he didn't pay much attention. However, his calm was shattered when someone suddenly broke the window and climbed into the room. TaeTae's eyes widened in terror as he took in the unfamiliar person standing before him.

The person's face was obscured by a black cloth, and a glint of metal caught the light as they held up a knife. TaeTae's body began to shake, and his hands and legs trembled with fear. He backed away, clutching the photo frame tightly in his hands.

"Who are you? What are you doing here?" TaeTae stuttered, trying to keep his voice steady.

But the person remained silent, their eyes fixed menacingly on TaeTae. Realizing he had to act fast, TaeTae tried to make a run for the door. However, before he could even take a step, the person lunged forward, grabbing him and clamping a handkerchief over his nose.

TaeTae's eyes grew heavy, and he felt himself going limp in the person's arms. The photo frame slipped from his grasp, shattering into tiny pieces on the floor as everything went black.

The guards responsible for protecting TaeTae were caught off guard, literally. They had been stationed outside TaeTae's room, but someone had thrown a sleeping bomb, shattering the windows and releasing a potent sedative. The guards had been immediately knocked out, collapsing to the floor in a deep sleep.

The sudden and silent attack had created a window of opportunity for the kidnapper to sneak into TaeTae's room and snatch the little space boy. With the guards incapacitated, there was no one to stop the kidnapper from escaping with TaeTae. The once-secure mansion was now vulnerable, and TaeTae's safety was in jeopardy.

On the other hand, Jungkook and his team had launched a fierce attack on the enemy's stronghold, taking out almost every guard in their path. The once-peaceful mansion was now a war zone, echoing with the sounds of gunfire and explosions.

Suga and his team handled the remaining guards, giving Jungkook the opportunity to sneak inside the mansion. As he entered, he spotted the main target sitting on a couch, silently sipping alcohol. A smirk plastered on the man's face as he saw Jungkook standing before him, gun in hand.

Jungkook's eyes narrowed, his grip on the gun tightening. He was determined to complete his mission and take down the person responsible for the chaos. The air was thick with tension as the two enemies locked eyes, the only sound the heavy breathing and the distant gunfire.

"Look who's here," the man sneered, his smirk twisting his face as he gazed at Jungkook, whose anger flared, his teeth gritted in frustration.

"Where are the diamonds you stole from me? Because of you I've to come here " Jungkook demanded, his gun trained on the man, who let out a low, menacing chuckle.

"You should not have come here, Jeon," the man taunted, his smirk deepening. "You've made a grave mistake by showing up, and an even greater one by bringing what's precious to you into this place."

Jungkook's confusion was palpable as he struggled to decipher the man's cryptic words. The man's chuckle grew louder, and he taunted, "Oh, dear clueless bunny, what's brewing in that round coconut head of yours, hmm?"

Jungkook's eyes narrowed, his sharp glare piercing as he kept his gun trained on the man. "Well, well, well," the man continued, "we have something with us that's incredibly precious to you. Let's just say... we have your precious."

Jungkook's grip on his gun tightened, his eyes blazing with intensity. "What do you mean by those words? Speak clearly, don't beat around the bush!" he growled, his voice low and menacing.

The man's smile grew wider. "Interesting, hmm? Wait and see for yourself."

No sooner had the words left his lips than a loud, mournful cry echoed through the mansion, freezing Jungkook in place. His hands began to tremble as he recognized the familiar sound.

"No... it can't be... my TaeTae," Jungkook's mind racing in horror.

In that instant, the man's words clicked into place, and Jungkook understood the true meaning behind them. His heart sank, and his world began to crumble.

"You bastard!" Jungkook's voice was cut off mid-sentence as his eyes widened in horror. The man's henchmen emerged, dragging a distraught TaeTae behind them. TaeTae's cries and struggles only added to Jungkook's anguish.

Jungkook's heart felt like it had dropped into his stomach as he took in TaeTae's condition. The sight was like a thousand knives stabbing his heart, and he felt his grip on his gun wavering. But he refused to let his emotions get the better of him. With a Herculean effort, he tightened his grip on the gun, his eyes blazing with fury towards the man lounging on the couch, who seemed to be reveling in TaeTae's vulnerability.

As soon as TaeTae laid eyes on Jungkook, he began to squirm and struggle in the men's grasp, desperate to escape and find solace in his mommy's arms. "Mommy!" TaeTae wailed, his body shaking with sobs.

Jungkook's eyes filled with anguish as he watched his baby bear suffer. "You piece of shit, let him go or I'll shoot you right in the skull!" Jungkook snarled, taking a step forward.

But his advance was halted abruptly when one of the men slapped TaeTae's face, grasping his hair and making him cry out in agony. Jungkook's heart felt like it was being ripped apart.

The man sneered at Jungkook. "Every step you take will cause pain to your precious. Think carefully before making another move, Jungkookie."

Jungkook felt his strength and resolve crumbling. He was trapped, bound by his own desperation to protect TaeTae. His mind was a complete blank, consumed by a single, overriding thought: save TaeTae.

Jungkook's expression was one of utter helplessness, but he knew he had to muster every ounce of strength for the sake of his beloved TaeTae, who was currently in the enemy's grasp.

TaeTae's voice trembled as he called out, "Mommy," his hiccups and sobs tearing at Jungkook's heart. The men's unforgiving grip on TaeTae's forearms had begun to cause his biceps to ache.

"Mommy, TaeTae hurts," TaeTae whimpered, his hiccups growing more intense.

Jungkook's eyes pleaded with the man, his voice laced with desperation. "Spare him, I beg of you. What has he done to warrant such treatment? If you harbor ill will towards me, then take your revenge on me, but leave him be. He's innocent."

The man's smile was a masterclass in sadistic satisfaction. "Oh, Jungkookiee, you're begging me now? This is truly divine."

Jungkook's anger seethed just below the surface, but he kept his emotions in check, aware that losing control would only exacerbate the situation. "Name your price, I'll pay it. Just release him."

The man's smile grew wider, his eyes glinting with malevolence. "Ah, now we're getting to the crux of the matter, my dear Koo. First, lower your gun, just like a good puppy."

Jungkook's gaze flashed with indignation, but he slowly lowered his gun, his mind racing with strategies to rescue TaeTae.

As Jungkook lowered his gun, the man's smile grew wider, his eyes roving over Jungkook's body with an unsettling intensity. "You possess a truly heavenly body," the man said, his voice dripping with lechery. "Why don't you join me in my bed?"

Jungkook's teeth gritted in anger, his fingers twitching with the urge to pull the trigger. "You bastard," he snarled, but his words were cut short by TaeTae's anguished cry.

The man's smile never wavered. "Every word you utter will only cause more pain to your precious boy. Think carefully before speaking, Jungkook."

Jungkook felt his helplessness deepen, his mind racing with desperate thoughts of how to rescue TaeTae. In a silent plea, he called out to his hyung, Suga, who was fighting outside. "Hyung, please help me."

The man's voice cut through Jungkook's thoughts. "Put your gun down, Jungkook."

Suddenly, a shot rang out, and TaeTae was released from his captors. He sprinted towards Jungkook, who swept him into his arms, his heart pounding with relief.

Jungkook's gaze shifted, and he saw his men storming into the mansion, taking down the enemy. TaeTae, still clinging to Jungkook, trembled with fear as the sounds of chaos and gunfire filled the air.

Jungkook tried to comfort TaeTae, who had buried his face in Jungkook's neck, his arms and legs wrapped tightly around him. Seizing the opportunity, Jungkook turned his attention to the man on the couch, who now cowered in fear.

Without hesitation, Jungkook pulled the trigger, and a bullet struck the man's head, his lifeless body crumpling to the floor at Jungkook's feet. Jungkook's anger boiled over, and he continued to shoot the lifeless body, his eyes blazing with fury.

The memories of the man's lecherous words, his cruel treatment of TaeTae, and his twisted desires flooded Jungkook's mind, fueling his rage. He emptied his gun, firing every last bullet into the man's body, his anger and revulsion finally beginning to subside.

"Boss, we need to leave this place immediately! Suga's waiting outside, let's move, move, move!" the guard urged, swiftly escorting Jungkook out of the mansion.

As they emerged from the building, Suga was waiting, his eyes scanning the area before falling on Jungkook. Jungkook was cradling TaeTae in his arms, but Suga didn't ask any questions, instead focusing on getting them to safety.

The group quickly made their way to the waiting cars, and as soon as they were inside, the vehicle sped away from the mansion. Just as they were putting distance between themselves and the building, a loud explosion rocked the air.

Jungkook turned to look out the window, and his eyes widened as he watched the mansion erupt into flames, consumed by a massive explosion. The bomb had detonated, reducing the mansion to rubble.

Jungkook's hands gently rubbed TaeTae's back, a soothing motion that seemed to calm his own frazzled nerves. TaeTae slept peacefully in his arms, oblivious to the turmoil that still brewed within Jungkook.

Jungkook's eyes, however, told a different story. His anger still simmered just below the surface, his gaze burning with a fierce intensity. He couldn't shake the feeling of betrayal and failure that had settled in his stomach.

"How did they manage to kidnap TaeTae?" Jungkook's mind seethed with questions. He had hired the best security team, spared no expense in ensuring TaeTae's safety. Yet, they had still failed him.

As the car sped towards the mansion, Jungkook's anger grew. He was determined to get to the bottom of this, to find out who was responsible for the lapse in security. And when he did, there would be consequences. Severe consequences.

The guards who had failed to protect TaeTae would be the first to face his wrath. Jungkook's jaw clenched at the thought, his eyes narrowing into slits. He couldn't wait to get back to the mansion and start meting out punishment.
