Chapter 8
Five days later...
~Minseo~
Let's go on an adventure.
I stared down at my phone and choked on my orange juice. I glanced at the clock on the wall and saw that it was around five in the afternoon. Where does he want to go at a time like this? Shops should be closing now.
I dialled Taehyung's number just a I heard a knock on the door. He picked up on the third ring as I made my way towards the door.
"Taehyung?"
"Open the door."
"Huh?" I opened the door to see Taehyung there, wearing a grey hoodie and smiling brightly. We grew close ever since that Jayla incident and Taehyung was becoming more and more comfortable with me. I don't know if it's because he pities me or something. I like having him around so I don't mind it too.
"What's with your text?" I asked, ending the call and putting my phone into my back pocket.
"You want to go on an adventure with me?"
"Where to?"
"You'll see," he grinned and then stopped grinning as he took in my appearance. "You might want to change."
So I wasn't looking that great in these trackpants and this old oversize green shirt. I scoffed. "I know. What do I wear for the occasion?"
"Something comfortable."
I gestured to the clothes I'm wearing, "And these aren't?"
Taehyung's lip twitched and I knew he was trying not to smile. Scowling at him, I made my way towards my room and changed into better clothes.

"Taehyung," I said.
"Hm?" his eyes were pinned on his phone.
"Taehyung," I repeated.
He came to stop and looked at me. "What?"
"I've never been to this part of the town," I told him, eyes skimming around the area. We were getting further and further away from the town towards the outskirts of the town. "What if we get lost? I can't find our way out of here if I don't know where we are..."
Taehyung continued walking like he didn't hear me confessing that even I don't know where we are.
"Taehyung," I said, eyes darting around the area as the sun was starting to set.
"You have me so we'll be fine."
Somehow, I doubt that.
We continued on walking further and further away from the place where there'd be lots of people. We were nearing the woods too and I was seriously starting to feel uncomfortable. I glanced up at the sky a few times and noted that it was going to get dark soon.
"What did you wanted to do anyways?" I asked Taehyung.
"You'll find out when we get there."
I walked ahead and stood in front of his track, arms out to stop him from taking another step. "You're not going to drag me into the woods and kill me, are you?"
Taehyung glared.
I let out a nervous laugh and then said, "Sorry. Let's hurry there before we lose daylight."
It was after ten minutes or so when I noticed that Taehyung was looking at his phone and looked around the area like...like he was lost.
"Wait here," Taehyung told me.
I stood there and watched as Taehyung read some of the signs that we'd passed and then watched as he walked back towards me.
I crossed my arms as he neared me. "We're lost."
"We're not lost," he told me as he took the lead again. "We're taking a shortcut, that's all. It's faster that way."
I uncrossed my arms and stopped walking. "That's exactly how people get lost!"
"Minseo, you watch too many dramas."
I scowled. When I heard rustling behind me, I didn't waste any more time and quickly ran after Taehyung. I have a really bad feeling about this.
I felt the night getting colder by the minute and the uneasy feeling didn't fade away like the light. I glanced down at my phone and saw that there's no signal too. I was busy looking at my phone and signal bar when I heard Taehyung came to a stop and then looked over at me, "You saw it too right?"
I froze. "What?"
Taehyung's eyes dart towards the nearby trees and then looked back at me, eyes wide.
"Don't say that!" I hissed, hearing the fear in my voice.
Taehyung didn't care about my outburst and continued walking ahead. I quickly followed him when he suddenly came to a stop.
I looked towards the trees and then said, "There's nothing there."
"You're not scared, are you?" he asked me, eyes on the trees.
I grabbed hold of his hoodie, "Don't scared me like that or I'll seriously cry." And I meant it. I'm terrified of ghosts. I'd rather face a psycho killer with a chainsaw or an axe rather than face a ghost.
"Oh!" Taehyung took a step back, scaring me despite me telling him that I'd cry.
"Stop it," I whined, tightening my hold on his hoodie and holding him back as he tried to go and see what was making that noise.
"Don't cry, I'm just teasing you," Taehyung said with a short laugh.
I glared at him and punched him in the arm.
Taehyung chuckled and then hooked his arm over my shoulders, pulling me against his side. "Oh, are you cold?"
"We've been wondering for nearly an hour," I told him, trying hard not to look into his eyes right now. "I didn't realise it'll get this cold too."

"You should have told me," I snapped, arms crossed as I sat back against the wall in the small cabin we'd found. I didn't even know there were cabins we could rent here and was even surprised when I'd been told that Taehyung had apparently rented one for us just in case we got lost.
Taehyung ran a hand through his hair, "I didn't think it'll take this long to find it."
It was now dark. We have no way of going back because it was getting dark and it'll be hard to find our way back too. Not only that, the other issue was that it was pouring too hard for us to get out of here. I'm a little thankful that Taehyung had rented the place for us though. Apparently, Taehyung had wanted to watch the sunset and then stop by the cabin and look around for a bit. There were so many things I didn't know about this town that I grew up in. I was learning a lot from Taehyung who wasn't even from here.
Although I was a little glad that we found a place to stay for the night, it was pouring hard outside and it wasn't as warm as I thought it'd be. We're in the woods for God's sake.
I watched Taehyung placed his backpack on the small table as he started to unzip his bag. I was still glaring at him until I saw him pulled out a large blanket and threw it towards me. It landed on my head.
I pulled it away from my face and then glanced at it before looking at Taehyung, saying, "What's this?"
"I packed a few things," he mumbled. I placed the blanket beside me and got to my feet, walking towards where Taehyung was.
Eyeing him warily as I snatched his bag away and then started digging through it. I saw snacks and some canned food, drinks, a torch, some spoons and forks, a map, a lighter, a pair of earphones and another blanket but smaller.
I glanced up at Taehyung who was looking away from me. I could see his face reddening as I start to make sense of what's happening. When I did, I couldn't help but start laughing. I could feel Taehyung's eyes on me as I crouched down, laughing hard.
"Stop it," I heard him muttered.
I struggled to stand and grabbed hold of his arm, holding it as I pulled myself up to my feet. I glanced up at him and grinned, "You're so cute."
Taehyung scowled.
I wiped the tears that was caused by my laughing and then chuckled, "I forgive you then. We'll just have to wait until daylight and until the rain goes away."
Taehyung sighed, "Yeah."
Well, this was going to be an interesting night.
