Chapter 7

~Minseo~

We rounded a few blocks before Taehyung came to a stop and dropped my hand. He turned to face me and I saw how angry he was. Why was he angry? I'm the one who should be angry.

"Is that why you didn't want to come?"

I blinked, "Huh?"

"Because of that girl," Taehyung pointed where we'd come from. "Is that why?"

"Uh, I'm not exactly fond about meeting people," I told him which wasn't exactly a lie.

Taehyung dropped his hand, "She's not a nice person, is she?"

I ran a hand through my hair, "Not exactly, no."

Taehyung closed his eyes for a brief moment. I could see frustration etched all over his beautiful features and I just watch him until he finally opened his eyes and said, "Minseo-ah."

I didn't get the chance to answer him because Taehyung reached out with both his hands and grabbed hold of both my cheeks before pinching them. "Why didn't you tell me?" he asked, his eyes narrowing.

I squinted at him, "Uh..."

Taehyung let go of my cheeks and I rubbed it as he heaved a sigh, "I don't understand women at all."

I smiled at that.

"Do you want something to eat? I'm sorry to drag you out of there," Taehyung said, his eyes full of concern, "It's just that the atmosphere was too tense and I don't think I can stay in there for long."

"I'm so glad you came when you did," I told him honestly, looking down at my feet, "And I don't mind you dragging me out because I didn't want to stay there anyways."

It was then when I felt Taehyung's large hand on top my head and I tensed immediately. Taehyung ruffled my hair affectionately and I glanced up at him, feeling my heart racing at that small gesture.

"I got rid of her," Taehyung said, removing his hand from my head and then slightly waving it in front of me to show me.

I looked at him, wanting to cry right here and now. It was a small gesture from Taehyung that melted my heart in ways no one has ever done so before. The heart that grew cold after countless betrayals, abandonments and disappointments.

"Ah, you look like you're going to cry," he said, blinking.

I inhaled sharply, trying to hold back the tears even though I felt them welling in my eyes. I'm not someone who cries easily but I couldn't help it when someone mentions the word "cry" or "tears" or something related to crying. It makes me want to just break down.

"No," I squeaked.

Taehyung's eyes warmed and then he surprised me by reaching out and grabbing hold of my face and then he bent his head down and kissed the top of my head before pulling back and looking right into my eyes.

"You feel better?"

I nodded even though I wasn't.

"My friends always give me kisses on the head here and there," Taehyung smirked. "It always makes me feel better, especially when I'm having a hard time."

I blinked away the tears and cleared my throat, "Who said I was having a hard time?"

Taehyung grabbed hold of my hand and started walking again, "Do you want to eat something?"

~Taehyung~

Taehyung shouldn't have touched her. He didn't have a right to touch her because she didn't give him permission to touch her, not to mention, they weren't that close too. However, to his surprise, he saw that Minseo didn't mind at all. He was a little relieved because he wouldn't know what else to say or what to do to make it up to her. Besides, the minute he saw Minseo trying so hard not to cry, he couldn't help it. It's exactly how he feels when he sees his members crying or trying not to cry—he wants to do something to make them feel better. That's the same with Minseo too.

"Taehyung."

Taehyung's gaze slid to his side and saw Minseo standing beside him, scowling. He glanced down and saw that he hasn't even started cutting the fruits. Minseo reached out and grabbed the apples from Taehyung's hands.

"You don't look like you know what you're doing," Minseo told him. Well, Taehyung's never been good in the kitchen.

Taehyung crossed his arms before turning around and leaned the side of his hip against the counter. His eyes were on Minseo as he watched her cut the apples into cute bunnies. He couldn't help but smile at that.

"Thank you for coming today," Minseo said, eyes on the apple she was cutting, "You could have just made an excuse about not being able to come," she glanced at him quickly before dropping her gaze to the apple once again. "So thank you."

Taehyung smiled even though she wasn't looking at him, "You're welcome."

Minseo and Taehyung fell into a long silence before Minseo surprised Taehyung by laughing. This was the first time he'd seen her laugh like this and she looked so cute too. Taehyung was in awe of her laughing and he didn't realise she had turned to look at him.

"What?" she asked, puzzled when he was just staring at her.

"You don't laugh much."

"You don't too."

Taehyung said nothing since she was right about that. He watched, surprised when she picked up a piece and shoved it in her mouth. Seeing how comfortable she was around him, he wanted to ask her whether she was like this with just him or with others too. Instead, he asked, "How old are you?"

"Twenty-one," Minseo replied through a mouthful. "What about you?"

"Three years older than you."

Taehyung reached for his glass of water and held it out for Minseo to take but she just stared at it and then looked at him, confused. Seeing this expression, his lips twitched in amusement before he said to her, "Slow down with the eating. You might choke."

Minseo stopped cutting and took a drink from Taehyung's glass before placing it on the counter. "If that happens, just hit me on the back."

Taehyung shook his head, "I don't hit women."

Minseo snorted, "Then just let me choke and die."

Taehyung chuckled at that, shaking his head in amusement. He was really starting to get used to having Minseo around and that didn't make any sense too.

Minseo picked up a bunny-shaped apple and offered it to him. Taehyung leaned down and took a bite, eyes locked on Minseo.

~Minseo~

I blinked a few times and looked away from Taehyung's hot gaze. It was hard to maintain eye contact with someone as good looking as him. Why does he have to be so perfect?

"Minseo-ah."

I looked at him and saw that his expression was now serious. Oh boy. That's never a good thing, is it?

"Were you bullied in high school?"

Instead of answering him, I reached for three pieces of the apple I'd cut and shoved them in my mouth and gestured to Taehyung that I couldn't talk because I was eating.

Taehyung's eyes warmed and I knew he must have figured it out. I looked away from him and began cutting again. I was aware of his eyes on me but I made sure not to make any eye contact with him. I didn't need him to see me and read me like he does.
