Chapter 46
~Minseo~
"I owe you," I said, breathing heavily. Boy, do I need to work out more often. After calling my mother and apologising to both my parents and thanking my brothers, I rushed here.
Kijoon grabbed my hands and squeezed them, "What are friends for? Good luck, Minseo."
Throwing a smile at him, I turned and ran towards where I knew Taehyung would be. I don't know if he'll even notice me because of so many fans who were screaming out his name and cheering him on while he stood on that stage.
Still, I had an advantage because I was one of the many "staffs" who was there too. So I moved as close as I can towards the stage.
Pulling my mask down and bringing my hands to the outside of my mouth, I yelled out, "Taehyung!"
When I thought my voice was probably drowned with the rest of the crowd, I called him out again, so loud that my throat hurts and I ended up coughing.
Tears filled my eyes as dread sinks in. What I feared the most. Being so close to him yet so far at the same time.
"Taehyung!" I yelled his name one more time before wiping the tears that dared slipped out. As I was doing that, I didn't see Taehyung's lips twitching and him trying hard not to crack a smile.
"You idiot! I'm right here!" I hiccupped, glaring up at him through my tears of frustration.
It was then that I saw Taehyung looking right at me. His expression was... all soft and filled with relief.
I cried even harder at the sight.
Taehyung glanced over his shoulders for a brief moment before coming right towards me. From the damn stage. To me. In front of the whole world. Well, shit.
I quickly pulled the mask to cover myself and turned, bolting out of there and away from people's suspicious gazes as he advanced towards me. I didn't make it far until I felt his strong grip on my arm, pulling me back towards him.
"Say it," Taehyung ordered.
I was aware... really aware that the whole world is watching us. I was covered up but I never felt so... exposed before.
"What?" I croaked.
Taehyung reached for my mask, tugging to down slight before dipping his head down low so that I could see him... and hear him.
"Say it," he repeated, eyes flashing, "I can't do anything unless you say the words."
More tears fall.
Taehyung frowned, watching them fall before his eyes sliced to meet mine.
"I love you," I whispered.
I watched Taehyung let out the biggest, brightest and most beautiful smile ever. Then I was crushed against his chest. One of his arms was around my waist, holding me against him and the other hand was on the back of my head, pressing me against his chest.
He nuzzled against my neck before skimming his lips to my ear. There, he whispered the words that any woman would dream to hear. "I love you, Minseo."
I tightened my hold on him, burying myself in all that was Taehyung. He loved me. I loved him. Even though I've always known, right now it felt so real. No more holding back and no more running away.
Taehyung pulled back and I tightened my hold on him, not wanting to let go. I was too scared of being judged by the whole world.
Taehyung's mouth as near my ear again and he said, "It's okay. Trust me."
I hesitated and then let go of him.
Taehyung grabbed hold of my face, wiping away the tears before pinching my cheeks.
I held back from batting his hands away.
Taehyung laughed, low. His eyes bright with amusement.
"All mine," he murmured, pulling the mask to cover me once more.
Then Taehyung's head slowly turned towards the large screen and I saw that we were both on it. I tried to hide myself and felt Taehyung pushed me behind his large frame. He glanced over one shoulder and flashed a cheeky grin at me.
"I'll take care of you from now on," he promised.
And I believed him.
