Chapter 38
~Minseo~
"Whose idea was this anyways?" Seokjin muttered as we were all walking back towards the dorms. After a very long lecture from their managers, we were finally able to come home.
"I got the blame too," Namjoon reminded Seokjin, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Not as much as me," Seokjin argued.
"I did too," I added. "Even though I'm the youngest here and was just dragged along."
"Did you wanted to stay in the same room as Kijoon?" Jimin asked me, throwing an arm around my shoulder. "We didn't want to leave you behind and we needed a breather."
I sighed loudly and reluctantly admit it. "I mean, I am a little thankful."
Jimin grinned at me, eyes and everything. I couldn't help but smile back in return. It's hard not to smile when Jimin's smiling and Jimin's been smiling a lot these days. I wonder if something good happened?
My eyes slid sideways and I saw Taehyung there. For some reason, it suddenly felt wrong to be touched by someone other than him. It's not like we were dating... but it just felt wrong. I wanted to slap myself for having all these confusing feelings.
"You want to drink with me tonight, Minseo?" Seokjin asked me.
"Aren't you busy tomorrow?"
Seokjin shrugged. "Like that's ever stopped any of us."
"No, I mean we have to film some things tomorrow," I reminded him.
"Ah, that's right," Jungkook said, turning his head towards me. "We're nearly done, aren't we?"
"Yeah," I answered softly. "We're almost there."
"Seems just like yesterday when we all met," Hoseok said, lips twitching. "Do you remember?"
"Let's not go there," Taehyung muttered.
I grinned at Taehyung who was walking beside me in silence the whole time.
"Stop it," he rolled his eyes.
"I'll drink if Taehyung drinks too," I announced loudly.
"I don't drink," he said, glancing down at me.
"You did that night."
That's when the members started laughing. All but Jimin.
"Huh? I don't get it," Jimin frowned, looking left and right at the members.
"My good friend, we'll add you to our group chat," Hoseok grinned.
"What group chat?" Taehyung asked, eyes narrowing. "Is there something you're not telling me?"
I stared at them. I have no clue what they were talking about. It seems like Taehyung doesn't too.
Seokjin cleared his throat, "So? About that drink, Minseo?"
"Um, let's do it," I agreed with a smile.
"Count me out," Taehyung muttered, shaking his head as he walked on ahead without the rest of us.
***
Passed out. All of them.
Taehyung held up his forefinger, pressing it against his lips.
I did the same, nodding at him.
He beckoned me to follow him and being a little tipsy myself, I tried my best to follow him although I was staggering a little here and there. When we reached the stairs, Taehyung turned back to me, offering me his hand.
I frowned at it, "I'm not drunk, you know."
Still, he held his hand out. Wanting to touch him anyways, I decided that holding hands like this was okay. Friends hold hands all the time, right?
"Where are you going?" I asked Taehyung as we made our way up the staircase.
Without looking at me, he answered, "You'll see."
And I did see. We came to stop at one of the spare rooms and Taehyung lets go of my hand before opening the door and stepping into the room. He told me to wait so I stood outside and waited for him.
After a few minutes, he stepped out of the room, carrying blankets and pillows. Lots of them.
I held my arms up, "Here, let me help you."
"What can you possibly carry?" Taehyung mumbled, closing the door behind him.
I placed my hands on my hips, arching my eyebrows, daring him to say it again.
Shaking his head at me, Taehyung threw one of the larger blankets over my head and it literally covered all of me.
"See?" he said.
I pulled the blanket off my head and scowled, "You did that on purpose!"
Laughing softly, Taehyung took the blanket from me before offering the pillows to me. So, we both carried the blankets and pillows, walking down the stairs.
"Careful," Taehyung said, glancing over his shoulders at me. "don't fall down the stairs. I won't be able to catch you."
"It wouldn't be a first," I told him, helpfully.
I held the pillows against me and watched as Taehyung gently placed the pillows under each of the members' head before throwing a blanket over them, tucking them in. After making sure that all the members were nicely tucked in, he smiled, pleased with himself. Through all this, I watched him, my heart hurting in the nicest way possible at the sight of him taking care of others.
When Taehyung was done, he slowly straightened himself, holding his hand out for me to take. I stared at it and lifted my eyes to meet his ones. Taehyung jerked his head towards the veranda and I knew he wanted to talk.
I slipped my hand into his and have him lead me towards outside.
~Namjoon~
"Psst!" Jimin whispered. "Is anyone still awake?"
"Are we really doing this?" Namjoon whispered, opening one eye. "Spying on the kids?"
"Shut up," Yoongi muttered, rolling over, eyes still shut. "Let me sleep."
Jungkook pulled the blanket to cover his mouth, stifling a laugh.
"Jungkook," Seokjin scolded quietly. "Quiet."
"We really shouldn't eavesdrop on them," Hoseok said, opening his eyes. The members opened their eyes at what Hoseok said.
"What do you suggest we do?" Namjoon asked, raising an eyebrow. "We can't just get up and scatter now, can we?"
"It was hyung's idea to drink," Jimin said, nudging Seokjin, "do something."
"Just close your eyes and dream, kids," Seokjin said, closing his eyes, a smile playing at his lips. "Block your ears if you have to."
"We can't hear anything anyways," Jungkook yawned. "Goodnight everyone."
One by one, they fell asleep. For real this time.
