Chapter 29

~Minseo~

We had to cancel today's shoot. I could see how stressed out everyone was, especially the members. Their fans were worrying about them and after the company released a statement that everything was okay, that didn't stop them from worrying too. I understood though. Being a fan, I understood the fear of having something happen to your idols.

"What was that with Taehyung?" Kijoon asked me.

We were out eating dinner together after today's event. I could tell Taehyung wasn't happy about my being here but I just smiled at him, making sure he could tell I was also not happy about him interfering too.

After almost dying today, I wanted to be able to spend time with Kijoon. That and maybe even... well, confess to him too. I don't love the guy but I like him. Really, really like him.

"Nothing," I said, taking a bite of my hamburger.

Kijoon's eyes narrowed on me and I did my best to avoid looking at him. "Minseo-ah."

I swallowed, "Yes?"

"Are you hiding something from me?"

I laughed, nervously. "No." I cleared my throat, "Anyways, why are you always talking at Taehyung and his members? Why don't we talk about something else?"

Kijoon tilted his head to the side, "Hm? Like what? We almost always talk about work."

"Like us."

"Huh?"

I placed my hamburger down, inhaled deeply and then said slowly, "Why don't we talk about us?"

Kijoon blinked slowly.

"I mean," I began, nervously. "You've been there for me since I came here and I came to really admire you. Not as a colleague but more."

He said nothing and my heart raced even more at the silence.

"I'm hoping you know where I'm going with this," I said, feeling my cheeks burn.

Kijoon's face gentled. "Are you... talking about us being involved romantically?"

I nodded, blushing. "I think I like—"

"Minseo!"

I jerked at the familiarity of the voice.

"Jiyeon?" I blinked.

Jiyeon beamed at me before walking towards me and Kijoon.

I slowly stood up as she neared and Jiyeon reached out, grabbing my hands in both of hers, "I knew it was you!"

"H-how have you been?" I asked, smiling although it was a tense one.

"Great! I've been meaning to ask you if you have time to drink?"

"Eh?"

Jiyeon's eyes flickered towards Kijoon and then she smiled at me, "I can get off work right now."

"Wait, you work here?"

She smiled and nodded. "Part time."

"Oh, um, I'm a little busy..." I glanced over and saw that Kijoon was already on his feet.

He smiled down at me and Jiyeon.

Jiyeon dropped her hands to her side, just as Kijoon reached out and touched my hair affectionately.

"I'll leave you two then."

"Ah, no—" I began.

"Great!" Jiyeon interrupted me, smiling brightly.

I just looked at her. What is she doing? Can't she see that I was in a really important—

"We'll talk another time," Kijoon said with a soft smile. "We need to."

My heart skipped a beat. Hope.

"Y-yeah? You promise?"

Kijoon nodded and held out his arms. I walked into his arms and they wrapped around me.

"Take care, Minseo. Don't go doing stupid things again, okay?"

I grinned and nodded. "You got it."

We pulled back and I watched as Kijoon walked out of the area. I was still smiling as I watched him leave, forgetting that Jiyeon was here. It wasn't until she coughed loudly that had me turning to her.

"Oh!"

Jiyeon flashed a tight smile.

"You don't really work here, do you?" I asked, crossing my arms. The timing was a little...

Jiyeon's face went red but she defended herself by saying, "I used to work here."

I sighed. "Do you really have to interrupt us like that?"

Jiyeon placed both her hands on my shoulders, "Trust me, Minseo. If I didn't, you'd be all over the media within an hour."

I stared. "What?"

Jiyeon threw her arm over my shoulders, "Let's go home."

"Home?" I asked, grabbing my purse.

Jiyeon lead us out the door and towards the car park. Confused as hell, I just let her lead me. It was when I saw him that I realise what she means by being all over the media.

Taehyung.

He was standing there with the rest of the members. They didn't look happy – what was that about? Like the rest of the members, he was wearing a black cotton mask, trying to conceal his identity. Well, shit. This isn't what I need right now.

When we were nearing them, Taehyung broke away from his members and came right at me.

"He touched you? You let him touch you? You let him touch your head?" Taehyung said, angrily before grabbing hold of my head and inspecting it.

"What are you—"

"This is my head."

"No, it's my head," I smacked his hand away, scowling. "You have your own head."

Taehyung growled, "You let him touch you?"

I ignored that. "What are you doing here anyways?"

Taehyung didn't answer me. Instead, he tugged down his mask before taking it off. My eyes went to his lips and then back to his face just as put the mask on for me.

Taehyung glanced over his members briefly before grabbing hold of my hand and then he dragged me out of there.
