Chapter 28
~Taehyung~
Taehyung's ears were ringing at the news as he turned his attention towards the warehouse.
Jungkook was talking with the staff members before jogging back to join them after getting the information he needed. Taehyung's eyes slid to Jungkook when he finally joined them again.
"Is everyone okay?" Jimin asked, worriedly. "What about the other staff members? The other members?"
"I don't know about the members," Jungkook said, his eyes darting back to the warehouse. "I heard there's still some people inside but they should be evacuating the building right now."
Taehyung bites his lips nervously as he waited for the rest of the members. His eyes skimmed the area to make sure no one was hurt but they were also searching for Minseo.
"Hyung!" Jungkook called out.
Taehyung's eyes followed Jungkook's and he saw Seokjin, Namjoon and Yoongi jogging towards them.
"Are you guys okay?" Namjoon asked, breathlessly. "No one's hurt?"
"No," Hoseok shook his head. "What about you guys?"
"We're fine," Yoongi said, breathing heavily. "I hope the staff members are okay too. We were just about to come find you lot when we were told to evacuate the building."
Taehyung's eyes found two fire trucks coming to stop and he felt relieved. The fire will be stopped in no time—
"There's someone missing," they heard Kijoon said. "Minseo! Has anyone seen her?"
That caught Taehyung's attention.
"Minseo?" Jungkook whispered, his eyes went to Taehyung.
Taehyung's heart began racing. He'd parted with Minseo just before the fire broke out and found her with Kijoon. So why was Kijoon here and Minseo not? Was she still inside?
"She ran back inside," one of the staff members explained. "she's one of the photographers, right? I saw people trying to stop her but she went back inside."
"Why would she go back inside?!" Kijoon yelled. "She was with me a few seconds ago!"
Taehyung's eyes went back to the building and before he could take a step forward, he felt hands all over him, stopping him.
"Let go," Taehyung said, breathlessly. "That stupid idiot is inside there."
"You're not going back in there," Seokjin hissed. "Sit still and let the firefighters do their job."
Taehyung struggled but their holds on him tightened.
"Don't," Jimin snapped.
Taehyung glared at them. "The dumb idiot is in there! Let me go!"
Before he could even blink, he was suddenly dragged away from the eyes of others. It was obvious they were trying to talk sense to him in private.
"I'm serious, let me go," Taehyung scowled.
"Calm down," Hoseok shushed him, glaring at him. "You'll regret making a scene like this later, Taehyung."
They finally let go of him when they were far enough.
"Don't tell me to calm down," he snapped. "If it was Jiyeon, you'd do the same thing."
"That's because Jiyeon's my wife," Hoseok shot back.
"So? Minseo may not be my wife but she's still mine," Taehyung growled.
"Can you make it any obvious?" Seokjin scolded the two, his eyes going back to where the other people were watching them and whispering amongst themselves.
Taehyung's eyes went back to the warehouse once more and he could feel his heart racing at the thought of Minseo being in there. Alone.
"Hyung, you'll just get in the way," Jungkook said, trying to reason with Taehyung. He hated the fact that they were fighting. "Let the guys do their jobs—"
"Minseo!"
All of the members' eyes shot towards the person who'd called out Minseo's name and saw Minseo who was practically being dragged out by one of the firefighters. She was coughing and holding something tightly against her chest.
Taehyung was already marching towards her with the members hurrying behind him. It was a good thing no one was trying to stop him or Taehyung would have fought them. He needed to make sure she was okay.
"Minseo—" Kijoon began but then was suddenly pushed aside by Seokjin who beat Taehyung to it.
"We need to make sure our photographer's fine first," Seokjin apologised half-heartedly. "Sorry about that."
Taehyung grabbed hold of Minseo's wrist, dragging her away from the suspicious eyes of others. He finally found a good place that hid them from the others. Taehyung's hands went to Minseo's shoulders and he backed her against one of the vans.
"Are you fucking out of your mind?!" Taehyung growled.
"I mean, it was a stupid but at the same time, I don't think it was that stupid," Minseo said, blinking. "Oh, I can finally breathe properly. Wait, give me a second."
Taehyung was about to lose it.
Minseo smoothed out her hair, "Alright, how do I look?"
"Are you serious?" Taehyung bit off, angrily.
Minseo glared, "Can you stop being so mad all the time?" she lifted up the camera she was holding so close to her. "My grandparents gave me this before they passed away. I couldn't just let it burn inside."
Taehyung blinked at that, his anger slowly dissipating, "What?"
Minseo blew the hair out of her eyes, "Yeah. It's important to me. Now, how do I look?"
"You have something..." Jimin pointed to his cheeks.
Minseo flinched at Jimin's voice and Taehyung turned his head to the side. He could see his members there, watching them two. Great. Just what he needed.
"Eh?" Minseo reached up to touch her cheeks, eyes wide. "No way."
Taehyung closed his eyes, trying to hold back from shaking some sense into her. He tilted his head to the sky and growled, "You're f#cking kidding me."
"You can let go of me now," Minseo said, placing a hand against his chest to push him from her.
Taehyung's eyes opened and he glared down at her. Does she not know the effect she has on him? Or how close he was to hitting his members just so he could go in after her?
No.
She doesn't know.
Judging by the annoyed glint in her eyes, she doesn't know it at all.
~Minseo~
"So?"
Taehyung drops his hands to his side.
"Okay," I said, wiping at my cheeks, "Am I good to go now?"
I couldn't help it, okay? I could have died or something. I knew that. Babbling like this was the only way to stop me from crying like the baby that I am.
"I'm going to go now," I mumbled, taking a step to the side before attempting to walk off.
Taehyung suddenly reached out and grabbed my elbow, pulling me towards him once more.
"What now?!" I cried.
When Taehyung's hand came towards me, I stood there frozen on the spot. I held my breath as I watched him wiped away the dirt on my cheeks with his thumbs, lips set in a grim line.
I watched him in awe of his beauty. How can someone be so handsome when they're angry and frustrated? Taehyung has everything. It's not fair. Guys like him don't exist. At least, not in my world.
"Minseo-ah!" I heard Kijoon called out, breaking my trance.
"Oh," I pulled away from Taehyung's hold, "Kijoon oppa!"
I grabbed my camera and took a step forward until Taehyung grabbed my elbow, pulling me to a stop once more. I glanced up at him, confused by the gesture. Were we not done here? I had a job to do.
"Oppa?" Taehyung asked, his eyes filled with anger. "You call him that?"
I blinked twice and then smiled sweetly, "Taehyungie oppa."
He just stared. And then he glared.
I brushed his hands off me and jogged towards where Kijoon was. Just like Taehyung and the others, he looked extremely annoyed at my running inside a burning building. That made me happy on the inside.
"I'm sorry," I said, with a nervous laugh when I came to a stop. I held up my camera and his eyes fell on it before he let out a sigh. He knew how important this camera is to me and so he decided to let it slide.
I felt him pulled me against his chest as he tousles my hair before saying, "Don't do that again."
I smiled, wrapping my arms around his waist and nodded. "Alright."
Kijoon pulled back, hands on my arms and smirked, "Next time, remember to grab our other important equipment too. Not just your personal ones, alright?"
"Ah," I laughed. "Right. Sorry."
My eyes happened to find Taehyung's and I saw that he was already looking at me. Boy, does he look angry.
