Chapter 27

~Minseo~

Was I hearing him right? Is Taehyung just trying to mess with my mind or was he actually serious?

I blinked and stared at Taehyung for a long while until I realise that the guy was, in fact, serious.

"Hold up," I said, pressing my hands against his chest, pushing him away from me. That didn't do much, he was still in my space.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

Taehyung's lowered his eyes and I swallowed when I saw that they were pinned on my lips. Please, don't let him kiss me. I won't be able to think properly if he does and I need to be able to think.

Taehyung's dangerous. He's always been.

He leaned in and I didn't move a single muscle, afraid that he might really kiss me and confuse me with his actions even more. Instead, he grazes his lips against my jaw, making me close my eyes in bliss.

When I feel him move away, I opened my eyes, locking them with Taehyung's hot gaze. After watching me for a beat, he reached out and pinched my cheek.

"W-what are you doing?" I squeaked.

Taehyung reached for my other cheek and pinched it also.

I tried batting his hands away but it didn't do much. I didn't fight as hard as I could because I could see how Taehyung's eyes lit up in ways I've never seen before.

"I'll leave it for you to interpret it," he murmured before releasing my cheeks. With one more glance my way, Taehyung walked out of there.

Three weeks earlier...

~Taehyung~

Taehyung wanted to stay away from Minseo. They've worked things out and things were going really well too. That was until Jimin poked his head into Taehyung's room, bringing the rest of the members with him the night Taehyung and Minseo worked things out.

It was there that Taehyung learn of Minseo's strong feelings and attachment towards Kijoon. They had apparently heard Minseo talking to Kijoon about their "date". According to the members, she was extremely happy. Happier than when Taehyung's around. Which pissed him off.

A man like Kijoon can make Minseo happy- he's sure of it. Taehyung's life was too complicated for her. She's a strong woman but Taehyung doesn't want her to have to deal with the malicious comments... not after seeing how much it broke Jiyeon. Taehyung have always hated seeing his loved ones be talked about by people who don't even know them.

"Decide what you want to do," Namjoon advised him. "We know you have feelings for her. You still do."

Taehyung avoided their eyes.

He felt Hoseok's hand on Taehyung's shoulder, "Cheer up, Taehyung. We're not here to force you or anything. We really didn't want to get involved in this but I don't think we want to see you regret it."

Taehyung glanced up and saw his members smiling at him. He forced a smile and nodded, letting them know that he understands where they are coming from. Still, does he want to risk it with Minseo? After walking away from their kiss, accusing her of cheating and treating her badly... he wasn't so sure he deserves to be in her life. Not anymore.

"We'll leave you then," Hoseok said, getting up. The rest of the members followed him towards the door, leaving Taehyung to his thoughts.

He thought back to their kiss. Taehyung felt it when he kissed her. Fear.

She might be the one he's waiting for.

After all, Minseo's the only one who knows how to make him feel alive. She made him feel special but not because he was BTS V. No, because he was Kim Taehyung. When she met him, she may have be star-struck but she was mad at him for accusing her of shoplifting and gave him attitude. Just like you would to any random stranger who accuses and humiliate you like that. Taehyung really like that. Not to mention, Minseo parted ways with him that day too, knowing exactly who he is. Their meeting again that night when he had girls chasing him was a coincidence. A beautiful one too.

Minseo may have kept her engagement a secret but she was always upfront with him. She spoke whatever is on her mind and Taehyung likes that a lot. Although she's a huge fan of Seokjin, she didn't try to get close to him to get close to Seokjin. She is someone Taehyung's proud to have as a fan. He's sure the other members feel the same too.

Parting ways with her had him moody and restless for months. She was always on his mind despite the misunderstanding. Truth be told, Taehyung was angry at himself - more so than with Minseo when he found out about her being engaged. His members thought it was because he wanted to avoid having more scandals and also because he was afraid she might really just like him as a friend - that those two were the reasons he'd left without hearing Minseo's story.

Taehyung knew there was a bigger reason as to why he was so angry when he thought Minseo was engaged. He kept it hidden from the members, not wanting to admit his feelings but it was clear now. The reason why he took out his anger on Minseo? Well, it was because he wouldn't be able to fight for her.

"Wait."

The members stopped by the door and glanced back at Taehyung.

"I want to win her back," he mumbled, feeling his cheeks heating up when he saw them grinning at him. "I might need your cooperation and maybe even help too."

Present...

~Taehyung~

Taehyung leaned against the door jam, eyes glued on Minseo and that guy. Kijoon.

Biting his lips, Taehyung's eyes narrowed when Minseo laughed, slapping Kijoon's arm. Her eyes were big and bright as she listens to Kijoon speak.

He felt someone place his chin on his shoulder, knowing that it's Jimin immediately.

"What are we looking at?" Jimin murmured.

Taehyung didn't answer.

Jimin chuckled, "Jealous?"

Again, Taehyung stayed quiet.

"What, you in a bad mood?"

"Should we fire him?" Taehyung asked, casually.

Jimin laughed in disbelief, "What? You can't be serious."

Oh, he was.

Jimin pulled away from Taehyung, grabbing his arm, "Be nice. Kijoon is the friend Minseo need in a big city like this."

Taehyung rolled his eyes. Like he didn't know that.

"So, any progress with Minseo?"

"Not yet," he muttered. "But I staked my claim."

Jimin stared at him, wide eyes and everything. "You...did, didn't you?"

Taehyung looked at him, confused. "Was I not supposed to?"

"I mean, you could have approach this differently," Jimin said, running his hand through his hair. "You probably scared her."

"Let her be scared," Taehyung muttered. "I know what I want and because of that, I need her to know what I want too."

"And that is?" Jimin asked, amused.

Taehyung didn't answer because his eyes were on Minseo. He knows that Jimin didn't need an answer too because he also knew that Taehyung wanted Minseo. Hell, everyone knew how much he wanted her when they saw her.

"I'm a little drawn to her," Jimin confessed.

That got Taehyung's attention.

"What?" he growled.

Jimin smiled, eyes still on Minseo, "Not in that way, my friend."

Then Jimin lead Taehyung away from Minseo and Kijoon, something Taehyung thought was probably for the best. They stepped outside the warehouse, feeling the breeze against their faces, making Taehyung smile a little.

His eyes found Hoseok and Jungkook in deep conversation away from them. No sign of Yoongi, Namjoon or Seokjin.

"Then in what way?" he finally asked, turning to Jimin.

"She reminds me of someone," Jimin said, stroking his chin in thought. "I think it's time I hit her up."

Taehyung's eyes rolled and he shook his head. Jimin's been out and about these days... doing something—or someone. The members try not to get involved in each other's business unless the whole team is affected by it—usually by a specific member's emotions.

"Careful, friend," Taehyung warned, tucking his hands in his pockets, "You should avoid having a scandal."

"I won't get caught."

Taehyung glanced his ways briefly and with a nod, he said, "Don't get caught."

Jungkook and Hoseok made their way towards Jimin and Taehyung when they spotted them. Standing there together, the four began to talk and laugh about some old memories. Their conversation came to a stop when-

"What is that?" Jungkook murmured, pointing up ahead of them.

They turned in unison and Taehyung's eyes narrowed at the sight of it.

That's when one of the staff members came running towards them. Judging by the look on her face, Taehyung knew he wasn't going to like a single word she's about to say.

"There's a fire!" their staff yelled.
