Chapter 21
~Minseo~
Taehyung and his members ended up ruining my date.
I was dragged into numerous meetings with their staff members and offered to work with them. I was against it but since Kijoon was there with me, he was honestly so proud of me and encouraged me. I almost accepted the offer but I didn't.
"It's a good opportunity," one of the female staff members told me. "You won't regret signing with us."
For some reason, my eyes found Taehyung's and he averted his eyes. Was he looking at me or something?
I turned my head towards the staff members.
"I want to think about it," I said to the people sitting around the table. "Firstly, I'm not that good of a photographer or a videographer. All that aside, I can't possibly be the one in charge of directing this whole—thing too," I just knew Kijoon opened his mouth to say something I didn't want him to say, so with my eyes still glued on Taehyung and the others, I covered Kijoon's mouth with my hand before continuing on, "Secondly, I really think you guys want to hire the wrong person. Kijoon should be the one you're after. Thirdly, no offence to you guys but I prefer to work with models, not singers. Lastly, I plan to return home after my two-year contract with my current company ends. I don't plan to stay here so I don't want to sign any other contracts too."
Everyone just stared at me.
Crap, did I come off too rude?
Kijoon removed my hand from his mouth, shooting up to his feet before grabbing hold of my arm and pulling me up.
"Can you give my junior some time to think about the offer?" Kijoon asked, smiling politely. "I'll convince her to accept this life-changing opportunity and ensure that she signs."
"That's not going to happen because- mmph!" Kijoon's hand went to my mouth and he smiled, bowing slightly before dragging me out of there.

~Taehyung~
Taehyung's eyes stayed on the door, long after Kijoon and Minseo have walked out. It wasn't until Jimin leaned over his chair and whispered, "Jealousy doesn't look too good on you."
That's when Taehyung glared at Jimin who laughed softly at that, tousling Taehyung's hair.
"Are we done?" Taehyung asked.
The staff members sighed, "What a shame. She's just what we need."
"Right?!" Namjoon stood up, nodding excitedly, "I knew I wasn't the only one who thought that."
Seokjin snorted, standing up, "Did you think you were the only one who thought that?"
Namjoon ran his fingers through his hair, "I... wasn't?"
"I like her," Jimin said, smirking at Taehyung before standing up too, "We should do what we can to get her to sign."
"If we can get her to sign with us, I think I'll really enjoy coming to work," Yoongi nudged Taehyung's leg with his, shooting him that knowing smile before standing up too, "If we're done here, can I go now? I have things to work on."
"I need to meet Jiyeon too," Hoseok nodded, glancing at his watch. "We have a date."
"Can I come along?" Jungkook asked, turning his head to Hoseok. "I'm hungry."
"I'll buy you something later," Hoseok said.
Jungkook's eyes rolled. "I know when I'm not wanted."
Taehyung just shook his head at his members as they wrapped up the meeting and left.
Along the way, he could see Minseo and Kijoon talking from afar and came to a stop. They were whispering so he couldn't hear what they were saying but he stood there, watching the two for a few minutes before he felt Jimin throw his arm around Taehyung's shoulders.
"Let's go," Jimin said.
Taehyung turned his head towards Jimin who flashed a smile at him and Taehyung let out a soft sigh before the pair walked out of there.
~Minseo~
"Come on, Minseo, you have to accept the offer!" Kijoon said, sighing heavily when I shot him a 'are-you-serious' look. "The pay is bound to be good too."
"Money isn't everything," I muttered before grabbing the straw and sipping my milkshake.
It's been five days since I'd last heard from the company. Kijoon's been trying to get me to accept the offer but I wasn't going to go there. I wanted nothing to do with Taehyung or his members. I was happy here, working with Kijoon. I wasn't lying when I said that I plan to go back home after the contract ends. I can't imagine living a life here in Seoul.
"The more experience, the better," Kijoon reminded me. "You said you wanted to move back home, right? That's where you wish to settle."
I nodded, secretly pleased that he remembered something like that.
Kijoon leaned forward towards me, saying, "You've come a long way, Minseo. I don't know the reason why you won't take this golden opportunity but push that reason aside. We both know that this is something you want to do. You're born for this. This could be that opportunity for you to really show the world what you can do."
I stared at him and he stared back at me. I leaned back in my chair, arms crossed, "You're not going to stop unless I agree, right?"
Kijoon flashed a grin. "Who knows, maybe I want you to stay in this city."
My heart skipped at that. "Right," I muttered before clearing my throat, "Well, I'll think about it."
Kijoon leaned back in his chair, reaching for his coffee. "You will?"
I nodded. "I'll think about it but I do have plans after all."
Plans that involves being somewhere else. Plans that don't involve being near Taehyung or his members. But you know, life never went according to my plans anyways.
