Chapter 20
~Taehyung~
"She lied to me."
After returning from their hectic schedule, the members dragged Taehyung towards the living room and began scolding him from his behaviour towards Minseo. They know that he still cares about her, especially since Taehyung handed a cold-water bottle to Jimin, nudging him to give it to Minseo in his place.
He wanted to bury himself when Jimin happily announced that to the members after their shoot.
"She seems like a good girl," Yoongi said, speaking for the first time. "Be nice to her. It's not like you to treat someone so coldly."
"It freaking hurts when someone lies to you," Taehyung muttered.
"Ah, our Taehyung is all grown-up," Hoseok grinned, throwing an arm around Taehyung, bumping their heads together playfully. "Having girl complications."
"Hyung," Taehyung grumbled.
"So, she lied," Seokjin shrugged. "I'd be mad too but I'm sure she has her reasons. You don't honestly think she betrayed you like previous women have, do you?"
Taehyung said nothing.
"She lied," Namjoon stated. "But who do you think she lied for?"
That got a reaction out of Taehyung.
"That..." he trailed off.
"Wow, Namjoon," Jungkook said, turning around to face Namjoon, his eyes sparkling, "That sounded so cool just now."
Namjoon smirked in response to that.
"Give her a chance," Jimin said, "When I was talking to her, she seemed really happy."
Taehyung stared at Jimin, daring him to finish that line of thought. Seeing this, Jimin smirked and gave it to him straight, "She's falling for that guy. Kijoon."
"I see it in her eyes when she looks at him," Seokjin added, nodding. "You're already screwed, Taehyung."
Taehyung rolled his eyes. "So what? I don't—"
Jungkook covered Taehyung's mouth with his hand, shaking his head, "Don't say it, hyung. You're going to regret it."
Taehyung's heart began racing as he tried to tell himself that he really doesn't care about Minseo's relationship with that guy.
~Minseo~
Kijoon and I ended up working with BTS for their numerous projects. It was starting to become bearable because my interest in Taehyung was slowly fading with every second that I spend with Kijoon. When I met Taehyung, I thought that not all men were assholes like my father and I really liked him too. Taehyung was sweet and thoughtful. He was kind and beautiful, but he was out of my reach. I was lucky enough to be so close to him even if it was for a few weeks. Bittersweet. That defines our memories.
"Minseo-ah."
I lifted my head and smiled when I saw Kijoon walking towards me, "You did a really good job today."
I smiled, shyly, "Thank you."
Kijoon glanced down at his watch, "Let's have dinner tonight. You're free, right?"
I nodded, enthusiastically, "Yeah!"
He laughed at my enthusiasm. "I'm glad you're happy."
"You owe me after I helped you out so many times," I reminded him.
He smirked, "Likewise."
I was about to ask him what time we're meeting up when I felt someone's large hand on my shoulder. I jerked back, feeling my heart race at that one touch. To my surprise, I saw Taehyung standing beside me, jaw clenched.
"Uh..." I stared at his side profile.
Taehyung dropped his gaze to me, "You need to come with us to the company."
"W-why?" I asked, slowly.
"I don't know," he said, tightening his grip on my shoulder, "But it's urgent apparently. I came to deliver the message." Then he releases his hold on me and smiled, though it was hard around the edges. "Excuse me for interrupting you two."
I watched as Taehyung walked away from us, my heart continuously races as my eyes stayed on him for a long while until Kijoon brought me back by calling my name.
"Yes?"
"Guess we'll have to postpone the dinner then," he said, smiling. "Maybe next week?"
"No," I shook my head. "I'll head over to the company and see what they want. Dinner is still on."
Taehyung and his members are not ruining my first date with Kijoon.
