Chapter 17

Two weeks later...

~Minseo~

The issue with Jaewook was finally dealt with. I'd returned the ring to his mother and parted ways with him. It wasn't as pretty as one would think because Jaewook was the kind of person who thinks he can get what he wants. Our parents were close and that's how we got engaged at birth. Not to mention, his mother really likes me too and although it hurts me to break her heart like that, she understood where I was coming from. Jaewook wasn't loyal... just like my father. Even though my parents are still married, it really hurt me whenever I look at them. I could see the pain in my mother's eyes but not just that, I can see the love she has for my father despite his affairs. I hated men because of my father but I couldn't help but love them and respect them too because of my brothers. My heart broke alongside my mother's and I vowed to never get involve with guys like my father.

Not only that, I was also far too young to be tied down and I wanted to explore the world and its people first. My job comes first—Jaewook's mother understood that. My parents, well, they didn't like that I went and ruined Jaewook's parents like that. My brothers weren't too happy but they decided to accept my decision. Besides, I wasn't exactly secretive about ending things with Jaewook. I've made it clear since the day I received Jaewook's mother's ring that I was going to end it. I only kept and wore the ring so that I don't lose it and so that I can return back to its rightful owner.

"This is the place?" I asked Kijoon as I stepped out of our room and looked at the set.

"Yeah," he replied.

I let out a whistle, "I'm liking the set."

Kijoon grinned as he glanced down at me, "They deserve the best."

"Well, let's get this done then," I said, stretching, "I can't wait to go home and sleep."

"Stop sleeping so much," Kijoon scowled.

"I was supposed to be sleeping but here I am covering for you," I narrowed my eyes at him. "You can start paying me now."

"You're not covering me, you're covering for our precious co-worker who fell sick last night," he corrected.

Shaking my head at that, we got to work, setting up our cameras and everything while chatting to the other staff members. Luckily, it didn't take too long with the setting up.

"So," I asked Kijoon, flinging the heat packs at him playfully before reaching for my water bottle. "Who are our models?"

"BTS."

I choked on my water. Lifting my eyes to meet Kijoon's, I whispered, "You're kidding me, right?"

Kijoon blinked, "I saw the way you were looking at their performances. I thought you're a huge fan or something," he ran his fingers through his hair, "I especially told our boss and requested your presence today because—"

I slammed my bottle on the table next to me and grabbed hold of his shoulders, shaking him, "Give me a good reason why I shouldn't knock you out with these cameras and strangle you with these cords!" I hissed.

Kijoon blinked, "Eh? Was I wrong? Are you not a fan?"

I let go of his shoulders, "I need to go to our room to make a phone call."

"Minseo!" Kijoon called out but I was already jogging towards our room.

~Taehyung~

Taehyung crossed his arms as he leaned against one of the polls with his shoulder, eyes narrowed on Minseo and that guy photographer. He stood far away from them, quietly watching them and their every movement.

When his makeup and hair was done, he decided to head out to greet their photographers and staff members. It's something he and the members like to do before they start working together.

He'd come to a stop when he saw Minseo there. By the looks of it, she didn't realise she was going to be their photographer today too. That would explain why she was suddenly grabbing hold of the guy and shaking him with that panic look on her face.

Then he'd watched her passed by in a hurry.

Taehyung's eyes travelled back to that guy before he straightened himself and took off after Minseo.

~Minseo~

My heart was racing and I was trying to calm it down the minute I closed the door behind me. I walked towards the chair and sat down, trying to catch my breath as I reached for my phone. I feel bad for even doing this but I needed to do it. I'll explain things to Kijoon later but right now, I need to call for someone else to come cover my shoot.

I reached for the heat packs, wanting to warm my hands since it was getting cold. As the phone rings, I heard the door opened behind me.

"Ah, Kijoon I have to—" I turned around and froze, dropping the heat packs when I saw Taehyung there. He stepped into the room and closed the door behind him.

"What are you—"

"I should be asking you that," Taehyung scowled.

I ended the call and then just stared at him. When it hit me that he thought I was probably stalking him, I was angrier than ever. Angry at myself for liking and getting involved with someone like him and angry at Taehyung for not waiting to hear me out. I was just angry for having to be involved with him again. Just when I was finally moving on too.

I bent down and grabbed the heat packs I'd dropped. "I don't need to explain anything to you."

The door opened behind Taehyung and to my horror, I saw the members there. Every one of them.

"Taehyung-ah, what are you..." Hoseok trailed off, eyes wide when they land on me.

"What's going on?" Seokjin asked, looking at both me and Taehyung.

Before I knew it, all of the members were looking at me and Taehyung, looking back and forth. I could feel their eyes on me, studying me... maybe even judging me a little bit. It was too much for me and I couldn't breathe.

"Is this her?" Namjoon asked, eyes on me.

"Yeah, the one who ruined my life. That fucking liar."

It would be better if he'd just stabbed me in the heart because right now, I've never felt so hurt. To think he'd talk about me like that to his closest friends was too much for me to handle. I felt tears welled in my eyes as I threw the heat packs at him before running out of there.
