Chapter 16
~Minseo~
I stood up from my chair as Kijoon walked through the door. "Are we done here?"
He nodded. "Yeah. You good to head back?"
Obviously.
I grabbed my belongings and then turned to face Kijoon, "Alright. Let's go."
We made our way back and passed several celebrities until Kijoon finally came to a stop and grabbed my wrist.
I glanced over my shoulders at him.
"Do you want to stay for a bit?" he asked me, eyes sparkling.
"I don't like that look in your eyes," I glared.
Kijoon grinned. "I want to watch some performances first. We'll leave soon, I promise."
I sighed, "You're not serious."
***
I made my way back out of the bathroom and sighed to myself. Kijoon wasn't kidding. He really is here to admire celebrities. I couldn't force him to leave anyways after seeing how happy he was, clapping and cheering along with the other fans. It was cute.
As I worry about whether Taehyung recognise me from before, I slammed right into someone who was rounding the corner.
"I'm so sorry!" I blurted as I took a few steps.
"Ah, no, I'm the one who should be sorry," I heard a familiar voice said.
I glanced up and saw him there. Yoongi.
My eyes widened slightly at the sight of him. It seemed like he was already set to perform which means that Taehyung was too. Yoongi, just like Taehyung, looked even better in person.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
I blinked at that, "Uh, yeah. Sorry, I have a lot of on mind and didn't watch where I was going."
Yoongi smiled, politely, "It's fine."
"Um, good luck with your performance tonight," I said, awkwardly raking my fingers through my hair. "I'll be cheering."
"Hm?" Yoongi looked at me, surprised.
Instead of explaining that I'm a fan of theirs, I just smiled and waved before hurrying out of there. I didn't want to risk bumping into Taehyung now that I've bumped into Yoongi.
"Why did you take so long?" Kijoon asked when I joined him.
"No reason," I said casually.
Kijoon and I continued talking for a while until the lights went off, signalling that a group is set to perform. The way my heart was racing told me that it was him. When the lights went on and the fireworks went off, that's when I saw him.
I blocked out everything and focused on him and him alone.
As I glanced at Taehyung, I was in awe of how he moves to the beat, his voice and his piercing gaze. It was hard not to fall for this man. Just like the first day we'd met, I couldn't take my eyes off him. Taehyung had that kind of aura. The one that lures you in and traps you within a single look.
The sound of his screaming fans snapped me out of my thoughts. My eyes skimmed the area where the fans were before I glanced back at Taehyung.
Right, I thought to myself, feeling my chest tightening with every breath I took, This is how it's meant to be.
"I'm only meant to look at you from afar," I whispered, ignoring the tears stinging my eyes.
As Kijoon dropped me off at my apartment, I did the one thing I should have done ages ago. I deleted Taehyung's contact details and got a new number.
With that, I felt lighter and I was able to breathe better.
