Chapter 1

~Minseo~

"Still so ugly," I shuddered as I walked through my small town. There was nothing left in this town yet everything's changed. Not a big change but still a change. It was this town that broke parts of me. No, not the town. The people. Every time I step foot in this town, I'm reminded of the painful things that I experienced here.

My family still own our house here even though there's no one here anymore. We've all grown up and gone our own ways. The reason I was back in this dump was because of the death anniversary of my grandparents who died in a car accident. They raised me and loved me like I was their very own so it really killed me when they left the world. I love them so much and try to visit them every year at least once.

Not to mention, Kim, a girl I went to high school with, invited me to a high school reunion that was happening soon. I literally forgot about it until she begged me to go with her. I didn't have a good time in high school so I really didn't want to go but I couldn't say no too.

That's why I'm here.

I glanced up and narrowed my eyes at the small convenient store before me.

"This is new," I murmured to myself as I took in the new design. I stepped into the small convenient store, holding my backpack straps. I browsed through the aisles, looking for some of my favourite sweets.

Before I knew it, I ended up carrying so many junk food that I desperately needed to mend this headache I was getting from even thinking about what's going to happen at the reunion. I dropped a packet of chips into my bag as I tried to dig for my wallet when I realised that I left my wallet at home.

"Shit," I muttered, digging for coins. I was sure I have another small wallet full of coins or something in here. That's when he came along.

I felt someone grabbed onto my wrist and sharply pulled me towards them. I hit a really tall person and I glanced up at the guy, shocked by the manoeuvre.

His eyes narrowed on me as he skimmed my face.

I stared at him in awe. His beauty was...surreal. Out of the world. What was someone like him doing in our small town?

"Shoplifting is wrong," his low voice told me.

That line brought me back and I blinked twice. "Say what?"

He turned and marched towards the front desk, dragging me behind him. When we got to the front desk, I saw that he was one of the workers here...and he supposedly "caught" me in the shoplifting act.

I still haven't process anything until I saw him reach for his wallet and paid for everything. Shoplifting wasn't what I was doing but the fact that he accused me of it, really pissed me off so I stomped out of the shop.

After three minutes, the door opened and he stepped out. I could feel his brown eyes on me and I turned around, shooting him a glare. Damn, he was so tall. I have a weakness for tall guys and it didn't help that this guy was really handsome too.

He arched an eyebrow at my glaring.

I snatched my bag from him and snapped, "I wasn't shoplifting. I left my wallet at home and was looking for my other bag full of coins."

He stared at me and I knew he didn't believe me. For some reason, that's when I remember where that bag was. I unzipped the front pocket of my backpack and pulled out my small purse, shaking it in front of him. It was clearly heavy so that means that I wasn't lying about looking for my wallet. Although I cleared the misunderstanding, he just stared at me and said no more.

"Ugh, forget it," I scowled, shoving that bag into my backpack again. "I would pay you pack for paying for me but I won't do that. You accused me of shoplifting and did it in a way that pissed me off."

I held up my backpack in front of him and said, "I'll take this as your apology since you've obviously lost your voice. Hmph!" I stomped out of there without giving him another look.

~Taehyung~

Taehyung watched her leave, curious about the girl who has no clue who he is. He doesn't know for sure if she was lying or not about shoplifting though. He was too busy eating noodles when he caught her dropping a bag of chips into her backpack and seeing her going through her bag suspiciously. Since this was a part time job for Taehyung to kill time while he was on a break, he figured he should do his job properly. That's why he ended up stopping her and paid for her things, only to be told that he'd wrongfully accused her. Taehyung saw that he had offended her when he saw how pissed off she was.

He snapped out of his thoughts when the girl stomped back towards him. Before he could say anything, she shoved a packet of chocolate biscuits at him and he had no choice but to hold it.

He glanced down at her, puzzled.

She dropped her hand and blew the lock of hair that had got in her face. After this, she shoot him another glare, saying, "On second thoughts, my grandparents raised me better than this so here," she pointed at the biscuits in his hands. "these are my favourite so that's me paying back for what you paid for me."

She didn't give Taehyung a chance to speak or protest because she turned away and immediately left him standing there. Taehyung watched as she stomped away and for some strange reason, he did it smiling and when she'd disappeared from his sight, he glanced down at the biscuits she'd given him.

Just as Taehyung walked back into the store, his phone rang. It was Jimin.

"How's everything for you?" Jimin asked. Taehyung could hear loud music through the line and knew they were probably practising or something.

Taehyung's eyes went towards where the girl had gone and he smiled as he walked into the store. "Better."
