It Begins
"No! Take me instead!" "How sweet... alright..." "I won't let them take you!" "Let him go you monsters!" "Calm down, we'll see each other again soon, I promise..." "but how can you be sure!" "Trust me... we'll see each other again, if not soon, then somewhere, sometime, someplace..."
I woke up shivering, despite all the heat. I remember... every... cruel... painful... detail... her screams as they draged me away, my captors taunting laughter. And now I'm here, in this rotten hole the Nightwings call a kingdom. Does she think of me? Does she realize how much I love her?
I hope so, I hope she thinks about me as much as I do her... Its been five years since I last saw her, thanks to my stupidity. My stupidity is what got us captured by the Nightwings. My stupidity is the reason I'm here. And my stupidity is the reason I'll die without ever seeing her again.
"Hi Granite!" I hear, sounds like Shadejumper.
"Hi Shade." I mutter. Shadejumper, super clingy, hangs around my cell to much, and is annoying as heck. She's always here. I can not get rid of her. She says she was assigned to gaurd me, but I think she just sticks around to listen to my sappy made-up love stories.
"I missed you!" She says happily. Through all my years in this deathtrap, I've never seen a Nightwing as enthusiastic as Shade.
"I didn't go anywhere... I can't." I point out. She looks at me sadly. I wonder why. You think she'd be happy I'm stuck here forever. I mean, she was part of the stupid group of Nightwings that brought me here. Maybe she felt pity. I don't want a stupid Nightwing's stupid pity, especially not that stupid Nightwings.
"Oh, I know, but I was gone, left to get you food." She chirps, shoving a limp carcass through the bars of the cell carefully. Limping over, I see that it was a sloth. I don't eat much, let alone sloth. I was about to tell Shade so, when I saw a small movement. The sloth was alive. Quickly scooping it up, I took it to a small space where I knew it'd be safe and left it there.
"Um... thanks... Shade..." I say nervously. She smiles before walking off, probably to find me another sloth. I run quickly back to the little sloth, hoping I have enough time to save him. His breathing was steady, although his fur was disgustingly matted and snarled. I set to work brushing them out best I can.
"Hey little buddy... How're you feeling?" I ask him a few days later. Ever since I saved him from Shade, the little guy's been getting better and better. He has those days where he just doesn't want to move, so I just leave him be most days. I've decides to call him Buddy, Buddy the sloth. Shade hasn't been back since I got Buddy, wonder where she went...
"Granite, come with me please." That's odd, never heard that voice before. I turned to see a strange Nightwing. He was huge, bigger than me at least, with giant wings. It was almost as if, lets say, he were to come into this room, I'd be swallowed by the darkness.
"Now, if you please." He interrupts(sp?) my thoughts, beckoning to the locked door. I slowly walk over to it, and suprisingly, the door opened. Walking out I felt a muzzle around my face, which was rather smart, seeing as I could set the place on fire. What they don't know though, could possibly be the end of them.
I'm an animus.
They dont expect it.
There hasn't been a Skywing animus in centuries.
But I'm the first.
WHATD YA THINK? GOOD? BAD? SUPER-POOP?
Should I make it a book?
