1963 | J.Lennon
A lot can happen in one year, and no one knows this better than The Beatles themselves. Life turns from the regular mundane, and sometimes even scary push and pull of Liverpudlian life, to a rush of gigs, recordings, and meetings. Sleep is luxury and an excessive work ethic is necessary. For John, a man always in need of sort of rebellion, this set responsibility and structure in his life feels insufferable. Despite the fact that he's almost at the height of his career, and that he's doing exactly what he imagined he would be when he got his first guitar, he's not happy.Manager Brian Epstein finds one medium that, no matter what, pulls John in and captures his attention; the art of story making and literature. In order to keep John sane, or at least functional and happy, Brian pairs him with one of Liverpool's upcoming journalists, Evelyn Sinclair. A ghostwriter of sorts, she works with the man to create stories, write about special events, and allows John to express himself on a different spectrum than songwriting. What happens when Evelyn finds out that perhaps John's in need of a bit more than a writing partner, though? What happens when the articles John gives her are more than just the typical things she was expecting; more than the run-of-mill day-to-day Beatle schedule? What will happen when she decides upon herself to stop publishing them? This is story of two people: John Lennon and the journalist that hid it all.© 2017 WINSTONOBOOGIEDisclaimer: This is a Beatles fanfic, meant solely for entertainment purposes.
