"Life is like a song.""Jacob, please don't. Didn't you just fail the poetry unit?""Life can get so loud and stressful at times, but then it can be quiet and calm the next moment.""I swear you've gotta be quoting someone.""And like a song, life can have sudden pauses, where no music is playing and everything freezes, as though time itself has stopped. Of course, eventually the song will start up again and everything will resume as it was. Then before you know it, the song is over. No more pauses. No more noise. Just silence."♫♪♫♪Everything about Hannah Cloutier's life is broken.One brother doesn't want to be recognized; the other is hardly recognizable. One parent has suddenly slipped away; the other's sanity slowly slips away. One friend from the past remains loyal; the other is as disloyal as they come.Starting Grade 12, Anna does her best to exceed in school.
