There are two types of people in this world: those who get walked on and those who become what others see them as. Francesca Storm Hilton lives a life that would make any normal person envy her. Her dad works at the most prestigious law firm in Denver, and she attends one of the wealthiest public schools in the area. Those two things combined would make her life almost perfect, except for the fact that her family is broken up and her stepmother is insufferable. So much so, her stepmother is the sole reason Storm acts in the manner that she does. To make matters worse, the drama of high school does not help Storm's reputation. The principal's daughter despises her, and the teachers all know her name. And, as if there needed to be more fuel added to the fire, the principal's daughter's on-and-off again boyfriend takes interest in Storm. Though the feelings are not mutual on Storm's end, what would be the harm in messing with his feelings and simultaneously getting under her enemy's skin?…

Life can be a struggle with a teacher's pet and goody-two-shoes hanging around. So what if she stole some dry ice from the chemistry lab? Paxton Copeland is what some people would call a frenemy. Even if that means reporting her to their principal. With Paxton being such a stickler and human doormat, is it even possible for him to break any rules without any sort of moral regret? Is Clarisse even capable of feeling moral regret for all of the rules she has broken?…

"I wrote letters for the first few years, but I wasn't sure where to send them to. Did you know that it's hard to send someone a letter without having a final destination printed out on the front of the envelope? If only the security weren't so tight, then I would have gone with you on that plane to make sure you reached your new final destination safely." If life comes with death, then wouldn't death come with life? What even happens once you reach the airport and hop on the plane that leads to nowhere in particular? Those are the two main questions Ember James has on her mind. But, in a relatively small town located in the middle of nowhere, finding the answers to her questions is not easy. Death in this town is not uncommon, but the way that the people move on so quickly in the town is a bit strange. And, to make the town and people even stranger, no one seems to notice that the rain only ever comes when a holiday is about to be celebrated. Could the people in this town really be as oblivious as they come off to be? Or, is there more to be found out about with the town and those that reside within it?…
