When she finds a man mostly dead in the middle of a blazing summer, the lost Minte Green (do not, under any circumstances, make fun of the name) does the only rational thing: steals his horse and supplies, and brings it all back to the small dugout in the hill, almost like a cave, where she'd been living since the disaster that caused her family to be separated and her parents killed.
