The Wood of Astfall is friend to no man. Its timbers hide packs of wolves and shadows that strip the minds of the rangers who seek to subdue it. Watchmen hold the single wall that separates the grove and its depths from the people of Arcath who struggle to survive in its shadow. Death, legend, and rumor mix together into a potion that taste of bitterness and loss but one that every person of Arcath must swallow. Aster knows it as well as any, struggling to fulfill the demands of his new position as a member of the Watch despite news of the frequent death's of his companions. But all that changes when an elven stranger appears before the city's gates with a tale of harrowing spilling from his lips. He tells of a land in the south were war has stirred and of his own people's destruction at the hands of their might foes. Finally, he tells of the mighty prowess his elven people carry with them and succeeds in stirring unprecedented curiosity among the city's woodsmen. What lies within Astfall? And, more importantly, can it be defeated? The northerner's are reluctantly convinced that perhaps whatever plagues the nearby woods is not beyond their axes or their new companion's sword. Inspired by his words, the city musters a band of hunters and fighters to seek the truth within the shadowy timbers of the forest. Chains of duty and misfortune bind Aster to this task that secretly calls him to answer a mystery of his past. But fate spins a fearful twist in the brash curiosity of the northern folk. The misty mire that envelops the band is not the only danger in those darkened parts of Niron. Foes rise and fall like shadows in this thrilling tale of danger and deceit until nothing - not even one's own heart - is above suspicion. The promise of glory as allusive as the forest's horrors until Aster finds himself fighting not for honor, family, or city but survival.#1 Unlikely Hero, #28 in Forest, #44 in Haunted, #924 in Mystery…

BLOCKED

BLOCKED

The title really says it all, guys. I'm blocked. I've been trying to write more for the last four or five months and the farthest I've gotten is six or seven chapters. Right now I'm in dire straights and need to just write. In doing research, they say just writing is good until you mentally can get over whatever is going on. So that's what this is. I will post entries by date and it will be random RANDOM writing stuff that I do. It might be Sci-fi, fantasy, steampunk, personal, first person, third person, heck, maybe even second person. It might be a complete short story, parts of an ongoing thing, or just chunks of writing that really don't make sense. It might be funny, sad, action-packed or the musing of a character reminiscent of myself. I honestly don't know. If that sounds interesting to you, please read on! If you are feeling the same way, feel free to drop a comment or shoot me a message and we can talk it out. Happy reading!BTW if you want to use any of these ideas, excerpts, etc. feel free, just PLEASE run it by me first. I'm just going to try dropping ideas here and experimenting with some wild stuff so it might be hit or miss. If it's a hit with you, awesome, I'll probably be fine if you want to run with it, but please ask me first. ThnxBest Rank(s): #447 in sci-fi, #355 in stuck XD…

For many a year peace has ruled the Land, but war is stirring. From the East come the Lords of the Drakons, a mighty, mystical Empire, and with them their armies of barbaric, half-man, half-bull Argles. Word is carried on their backs that the great Forest of Valdraermisr is under attack and the Elves within threatened to be overwhelmed by the Empire's cruel hand. With his kingdom of Archain under threat of being consumed, Castor has no other choice but to call his armies together and ride to the aid of the ancient allies of Men. But with every step, the Kingdom of Archain is carried deeper into a conflict they may be too great even for their king. With every rising foe comes new mysteries, myth, and lore that just may summon a greater evil than anyone in the Land is prepared to vanquish. NOTE: I wrote this book when I was 7, so it's not exactly a NYT Bestseller, but hey, maybe you'll find it fun if you're bored. Just don't be a hater; I know it ain't great :D…

Scout Stories

Scout Stories

In January 2012 I joined the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), a "boy led" organization that promotes respect, honor, life skills, and personal development. In reality? My troop is a one-hundred-ish group of 5th to 12th graders that are just figuring the world out together. This is why Boy Scouts was always such an amazing experience to me. Throughout it I have made some of the strongest friends I have ever had and we have shared experiences that we will look back on for decades to come, even after our paths of divided. Though we often fall short of the high ideals of the organization, together we have begun to "bushwhack our way through the jungle of life" as I like to put it. Together we have discovered things about ourselves, learned useful and entertaining skills, and most importantly picked up some entertaining stories along the way. Now in late-2016, as I have accomplished Eagle Scout and am preparing to depart from my beloved troop, I am writing down the numerous stories both for you, who have generously taken the time to read this, and for me. Hopefully these stories are even half as entertaining for you to read about as they were for me and my friends to create. Happy reading. :D…

To Stand Before the Senate

To Stand Before the Senate

What is an ideal worth? This question will determine the fate of one elderly man as he stands before the Roman Senate alone in opposition of what he knows is wrong. Standing only with courage, he battles against men who seek his destruction, but still he voices the ideal that would otherwise be unnoticed. In an gripping parallel to the modern times, To Stand Before the Senate examines over the course of three chapters what, when in the face of dangerous opposition, an ideal is really worth and the cost of standing beside it.NOTE: The events that are undergone in this short story are loosely based off of true events that took place in the late BC/early AD, but the specifics are, for the most part, fictional.…
