"Song of the Phoenix" is a short story about a tortured teenaged boy living in a small town where he is bullied, marginalised, despised. Only one person has showed him any sympathy or kindness and that person - Elissa - has too many problems of her own to support him, let alone become the love of his life. It seems there's nothing and no-one for Michael - would anyone really miss him if he left forever? Before he goes Michael plans to show them all but things don't turn out as expected. Michael transforms into something other worldly, something vengeful, powerful and driven - can he remain in control? Will the undeserving be destroyed along with the bullies and how will Elissa feel as she is drawn into Michael's fiery anger.…
