Dopo La Guerra; After the War. This collection of vignette styled short stories follows the journey of Gabriele and Maria. Two neighbours, and their differing experiences as middle-class Italians during World War II. My decision to write this came from my immense love and respect for my grandparents. I had heard a few of their stories in the past, but not in detail. It was also my decision to step outside of my comfort zone and write a creative non-fiction piece in the third person, and I thought if I had a subject that I felt was important to me then that would make the process a lot easier.
