A real dog and his story...On May 3, 2018, my Grammy, Bonnie Jo, passed away. It was the first death of a close relative I had ever experienced, so it hit me and my family really hard. A few days after learning about her death, I came up with the idea for this short story, but was too emotionally compromised to even think about writing anything. I don't even think I texted anyone in those few days... Almost a year after her death, I started going to a student counselor at my university to get help with the insane amount of stress I was dealing with concerning not only school, but my sister's relationship, family tension, and STILL my grandmother's passing. There were a lot of tears during that session.But, talking about it with someone helped start the healing process, and a few weeks later, I finally wrote this story. And now, I think I'm finally ready to share it with a wider audience.I hope that if you're going through a situation similar to mine, or you're scared about something similar happening to you, that this story can be a message of hope.
