The only unexpected thing about the Reaping in 2 this year is that the volunteer for male tribute is Arian Dimitri, a charismatic loner who doesn't want anything to do with being a Career. The only reason he even volunteers is to save a kid who reminds him way too much of someone he cared about in his turbulent past. It seems like it might be the first right decision he's really made since that horrible night in fifth grade that he always avoids talking about. But when he meets the other contestants and realizes what he's gotten himself into, he's not so sure his choice was a good one, because Arian Dimitri is fairly sure that he's doomed himself to save a stranger. And in his book, that's not really worth it.…
