They fight valiantly although many casualties result from the Sorceress' merciless attacks.Finally, having survived the battle, The Syndicate of The Weird, just got weirder. In an attempt to deflect one of the Sorceress' malevolent transformation spells from hitting a fellow Syndicate member, Zanzibar the Magician finds himself victim; altered - into a woman.In an era when homosexuality and androgyny are not only frowned upon but also penalised, Zanzibar must come to grips with this life-changing conversion. She receives a communiqué from Captain Bill Johnson of the NYPD, stating a case has been closed, but Zee senses something untoward, something dark, ominous.
