Flying Free [The Remake]
This is not the original Flying Free from my first account, but this one is way better. I'll be keeping up as long as if people actually give me feedback. I like to know when people like something. It encourages me to write more. [Description NOT from actual text in book]Strapped down in a dark room. Shadows looming over me, speaking in hushed whispers. Maybe they were just the voices in my head. At least, that's what I thought. After a while of hearing the shuffling and conversations around me though, I finally knew that this was all real.I frantically try the restrains. It was hopeless. "Scalpel." A bright light blinds me and I see a small surgical knife being passed. Oh god, were they going to operate on me? A mask is secured into my face, a needle stings my skin, I fall asleep. The last thing I hear is the heart rate monitor beeping faster.I wake up, hanging the things on my head against the bed. I retract my steps to where I am now. Walking home from party. Man grabs me. Throws me in his car. I wake up on an operating table. Pass out again. And now I'm here.I groan at the pain on my head. What the hell did they do to me? I struggle in my bed. I want to go home. To be with my family. "You're awake." A slightly scratchy voice announces. I remain still, too scared to move. A hand brushes across my face and to the things on my head. "They look so good. I'd say this is a job well done." A job well done? "What are they?" I squeak. Chuckles echo through the room. "Go see for yourself." I can finally move freely. Being stupid, I don't run. I make my way around with the help of the person. They guide me to a new room and flick on the lights. There we were, staring in a mirror. I didn't recognize the girl staring back at me. The girl I knew did not have horns sticking out of her head. I crash to the ground and burst into sobs.I fear at the horns and scratch at them. If only they would go away.…
