This is a poem I wrote for my World Lit class. The assignment was the write a found poem based on the story "Shooting an Elephant" by George Orwell. A found poem is when you only use words used by the original author(which I followed loosely lol). "Shooting an Elephant" was written in 1936 and Orwell tells the real story of how his job as a British Imperial Officer led to him shooting an innocent elephant to impress the natives of Burma.
