It's 1950, four years before segregation in the US officially ended and eighteen years old, Jakkie has had enough. Throughout her school life, she'd been discriminated against and separated. She attended a black only elementary and high school and she didn't have any hope in her university education. Conditions were horrible. From disgusting bathrooms to the worst seats ever on the public bus.
