A man who experiences loss and has a difficult time with the guilt that accompanies it, discovers that life has more than one surprise for him. [Originally written for justwriteit - justwritebits]In order for this book to contain some semblance of a coherent theme, all prompts about the Afterlife, alternate realities, dream world, etc, will be added here. It will maintain a somewhat lyrical [evocative and emotive] style, whilst containing some freedom to slipstream genres if I choose to. [I create all my covers. The only parts of this one that were pre-made were the tiny black silhouette of the man from Pixabay and the font, everything else-including the gem-was painfully created from a blank canvas. Do not use without my permission or without giving credit.]…

At home, he feels alone and abandoned by the adults that were supposed to be there for him. When the clock strikes midnight, a strange door appears in his basement. Before he could decide whether to open it or leave it alone, it instantly transports him to the alien planet of Kraälst Ta'ark. The aliens that inhabit the planet kill and eat every creature that crosses a door. This makes Benjamin quickly realize that his worries were trivial when compared to being trapped on a world where he's considered food.Only another prisoner can help him escape, but should he really trust her? NORP - Normal, Ordinary, Responsible, PersonNAT - Necessary Action TakenGrant 'Norp' Wealleyn comes from an all-White family full of doctors. They think his perfect partner should be a prestigious doctor and anything else just doesn't fit into the plan. Nathalie 'Nat' Williams comes from an all-Black family full of cops. They hoped she would someday marry someone in law enforcement and it was something her father always envisioned.Grant's mother is incredibly stubborn and Nathalie's father is as equally stubborn. Both parental figures are more alike than they'd like to admit. They might've overlooked the color difference, had their children chosen what they deemed to be an equal-class partner.Their relationship has to survive through classism, racism and all the bigotry their families decide to hurl at them. How far will their families go? And when will it be enough? For the OpenNovellaContest II. First time trying Drama-Romance, rather than skirting about in the edges. It's my first romantically focused story, but I still hope the focus on the issues remain pertinent. Here's hoping it's not a complete and endless stream of twaddle!*Because of a comment and after some deliberation, I thought it best to write this in the description to avoid any future confusion. This story is written in the technique of 'multiple internal focalisation', switching between Grant and Nathalie at times-two separate POVs-with the separate constant narrator. Hopefully, this clarifies any future questions about that after the first few chapters.…

This is a collection of various prompted short stories. It'll be somewhat of a pastiche, or assortment of non-related themes and styles. It all starts with the ridiculous 'Snag-a-Date' to set the mood."So many apps to choose from, so few that'll be used. It's a competitive place where new apps try to garner popularity. Perhaps Snag-a-Date will be able to be one of them? Nick Potts certainly hopes so. But Nick's an idiot and his judgement can't be trusted. In either case, he's devised a remarkably un-genius plan to save his app."**I'll add the corresponding tags as I choose the prompts.***…

An absurd venture into lame witticism.Short stories and thoughts that often contain extreme silliness, childishness, as well as, a dash of convoluted thinking beneath the surface. Oh, there's a bit of occasional learning, so your time will not be completely wasted. [Also known as 'merely a collection of my ridiculousness'. This was the second book I had published on Wattpad and republishing it with a tiny bit of editing.]…

In celebration for Halloween: A story with a tiny bit of strangeness, some silly humor, clichés, a cat, monstrous rats, annoying neighbors and their annoying dogs, an inescapable apartment building full of zombies, starter weapons, oldies music, ridiculous drawings, injuries and deaths. Or is it un-deaths?Movie trailer person's voice: "Rated PG-13 for stabbing zombies, hitting zombies over the head [overall aggression against zombies of all kinds], one instance of auto theft, and the occasional cursing [8-9 of them, censored by ridiculous little grawlixes]."***As of the 28 of November, Wattpad has deemed my story "Mature". They've also formed a rally demanding that "Yoga Hosers" be changed to XXX, due to the sausage Nazi that entered that bloke's bum.*** No sex, no drugs, no self-harm, no references to nudity, crude language censored, moderate violence and comedic violence is the only thing the story contains. By the Canadian rating-it's a rating of 14+. Making that clear, since the story is now amongst the site's smut pile, and it's nothing like those. ***Disclaimer: No children, people-and most importantly, animals-were harmed in the making of this story. Vile Vortices

Magic seeps into our reality and finds refuge in one little girl. Unfortunately, she doesn't know this and neither does anyone else, until she falls asleep during one of her classes. Was originally only for the 500 word prompt for Aim to Engage II, but I'm leaving it marked as ongoing. This will be continued and turned into a long novella or full novel. I will begin writing it in six-seven months and publishing the chapters on September 2019. Sorry for the long period, but until then, I will be working on-roughly-four novellas and three novels. "By definition, the Vile Vortices would be miserable whirlers but actually they are twelve vertex points of a planetary grid originally plotted by Ivan T. Sanderson, a naturalist and paranormal investigator. Sanderson first coined the term, "Vile Vortices" in his article "The Twelve Devil's Graveyards Around the World" (Saga magazine, 1972).The best-known Vile Vortices are the Bermuda Triangle, the Dragon's Triangle (Devil's Sea), and the South Atlantic Anomaly. However, each of these twelve geographic areas is credited with instances of magnetic anomalies and other unexplained phenomena."Excerpt from paranormal-encyclopedia.com*Ivan T. Anderson was actually a biologist [MA in Botany and Ethnology from Cambridge University] and a writer, with interests in cryptozoology and phenomenons.…

Retold - Ball Gone Wrong

Retold - Ball Gone Wrong

Virginia Dantès is invited to a ball held by the Count de Morcerf, where she accidentally stumbles upon a magical item that transports her to another world. This story is in a rhyming scheme much like "A Lie by Them is a Fie for Him". Though I must admit it's not as good. I will rework this and add it, along with the other, into a compilation of short stories that will be all in the same format. Some folklore information before entering the story:The story's main portion begins with the hawthorn and ends with the apple tree. The Hawthorn is said to be a portal to the Otherworld. It represents fertility and death, but is also said to contain knowledge of reproduction and transformation. In medieval times, bringing a hawthorn blossom into the abode represented death, because they smell similar to a rotting corpse. Corpses were kept in houses for days before being buried. This meant people were well acquainted with the smell of decaying flesh.Landon Quert: The Apple tree, is called Quert [tenth letter of the Ogham], and is associated with Samhain-as well as-Apple Day on the 21st of October. Apple represents the Otherworld and CHOICE. Which Landon offers by telling Virgin-ia "don't drink the Lambswool". It can also represent "madness", which the Otherworld magical apple tree makes music that dispels "all want of the Soul". The apple [in this instance, the Lambswool], also brings a person to Emhain or "land of the departed".Halloween Vault 500-600 word prompt. "How will she survive? Will she find a way home or will she get stuck in the monster world forever?"…
